View Full Version : Scotland - England and whatever other games are on

Is there no thread or am I being blind / stupid?

There is football afoot, anyway.

The England bench looks chock-full of inspiring options if we make an arse of this and need to mix it up.

I'm just glad that I have a non-ITV option to watch this.

Magic's lot are on the ropes at the moment.

One of only two ties I want England to win, and win comfortably.

Ian

Yeah, England have done fuck all so far and barely been in the Scotland half in any meaningful sense.

Pleb

Sorry lads I forgot that we're not playing 4-4-2 with a strike force of Rashford and Kane.

John
10-06-2017, 04:24 PM
The commentator there, wondering if England will face a more intimidating atmosphere as the qualifiers go on. They'll face a more intimidating atmosphere in the dressing room at half time. Hampden is an atmospheric dead zone.

John

'Jimmy Savile, he's one of your own' in this context might be the most inexplicable chant of all time.

Maybe not a 'big thing' in the end but he's a good keeper, he's Southampton's no1.

Nah that's David Marshall you're thinking of. Made his debut against Barcelona, but that was about 10 years ago. He was on Scotlands bench today :D

I actually looked at the wrong bench on Livescore when Adamski said and spotted David Marshall. It just so happened it was him I was thinking of all along, not Forster.

EDIT: yep as Adamski said above, that's the guy. Fucking mad that was 13 years ago.

My knowledge of what's going on in football these days really is a bit tragic. I've heard of about four people in this England U20 squad.

Maybe United will loan him out for a fee and a percentage of his wage. It'd probably hit Rooney's pride, but otherwise there's presumably not much chance of him going anywhere other than China/USA. I think I had him down as Everton in that guessing thread, but thinking about it it's an absurd wage for 99% of clubs.
