I know we have a thread for travel, but it'd be nice to hear everybody's exciting plans to take our mind off all the brutal road accidents of late.

I've only got Glastonbury as a definite so far, but that's more than enough to get me extremely excited. Hopefully I'll be able to hit up another couple of festivals once I'm working.

Nothing until Sorrento in August. I was going to go to Slane for Guns N'Roses this coming weekend but sold the tickets the other day.

Sorrento looks stunning. I need to visit a little Italian town like that soon.

Nowhere. :(
When do you move to Rennes?

Also Sorrento, also August. Not in a stalkery way

If you like walking then try Cinque Terra. It looks even nicer but when we mentioned it to the travel woman she said it was more geared towards walkers than relaxing.

I'll see you for a beer if they have any.

I'm potentially pissing off to France with my mum and Uncle to arse around looking for my great granddad's grave or some bollocks. Off to Paris too to see my cousin. Summat to do, innit!

Next summer the earliest.

Barca & Girona end of next month for 2 weeks. My mates are getting married in Barcelona.

Potentially Zadar & Dubrovnik end of August or maybe Tulum. Haven't decided yet.

Flying to Venice for a day, then getting a train to Trieste and then jumping on a bus to Rijeka. A day will be spent there, then hire a car and drive to Dubrovnik stopping here and there along the way.

Flying next Wednesday but I still can't fucking find my passport :\

Nowhere in the summer but might hit Greece in October.

I'm going to Greece (Athens & Santorini) next week. Then I'm going to Scotland (Edinburgh & highlands) for a week in August. Probably a handful of weekends elsewhere in the UK and Ireland as well at various points.

Looks a bit like Balamory on steroids.

I do like walking, but for a holiday like that I'd mostly want to get pissed and eat too much.

How long you in the highlands for? Its something I'd like to do, but I can't help but think it'd get a bit boring.

It is largely unless the weathers amazing which it never is in August.

Staying in Pictloghry (probably spelled wrong) which I understand is nearby.

I'm going to Kinsale again in July too, I'd forgot that. Could happily spend the rest of my days there. You should look at it if you haven't decided on where to do in Ireland Henry.

Pitlochry is actually quite decent, good bit to do. Assumed it would be a bit further up.

Aye, Cork in general is a part of the country I've not spent too much time in and would like to.

It's definitely a far nicer coastal town than Bantry. Dingle in Kerry is another lovely one, real easy going moochy kind of spot, and then up the coast to Lahinch or Doolin for a bit more craic.

From all my travels I'd only have Westport and Killarney as places to avoid like the plague.

Why haven't you got an emergency one yet?

Because I'm confident (a lot less so than a few days ago) that I'll find it.

I've got no other option now too as the 1 day passport thing can only be used for renewals. For a lost one it takes about a week.

In case you're after Santorini tips:

The walk from Fira all the way along the caldera to Oia is essential.

Red Beach and White Beach are great. You can get the bus to the former from Fira (all buses leave from here), and there's a water taxi that takes you to White Beach. Sometimes the guy will stop half way across near some rocks and let you dive off the boat and swim about for a bit. On the way back this (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+Dolphins/@36.3485378,25.3970013,17.3z/data=!4m15!1m7!3m6!1s0x1499ce86adfd9ff7:0xb2a761f7 40d68afc!2sSantorini!3b1!8m2!3d36.3931562!4d25.461 5092!3m6!1s0x0:0x6eec398005531650!8m2!3d36.3488981 !4d25.3983065!9m1!1b1) is a great little seafood restaurant with a nice view.

I have done Dingle. It's nice. I was only very briefly in Killarney, but not sure what your issue would be. Tourist traps?

The pubs are very Americanised, along the lines of temple bar, all leprechauns and a bowl of begorrah stew. At night the place is boy racer scrote central doing laps of the town in old civics and lancers.

What's wrong with Westport? My folks are going there for a few days next month. They've been a few times now and seem to really like it.

It's awful tiddlededee for yanks too. And it's also the most horrendous town in Ireland to drive in.

We're heading off to Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro on Saturday with the missus. Can't wait to be honest as it's been a year since our last long holiday.

The above is the main thing, but were also thinking about a weekend in Åland again and we have a wedding to attend in London in early September.

Found it.

Was losing hope as it was nowhere.

Went to get a Coke Zero from the fridge and noticed some of our cook books by the microwave. Decided to look between them as I remember them being on the table and there it was, nestled between the third and fourth book.

The fuck? But amazing.

Nowhere, summer is the worst time to go on holiday as that's when the weather is good here.

That said, I'm going to Wales for a bit in October, so I have no leg to stand on.

True in a way but if you leave it till December/January etc you're limited in terms of European spots.

How often do you actually get to enjoy the nice weather over here whilst at work? Last summer was incredibly frustrating for having gorgeous weather midweek and clouds at the weekend.
