I prefer green over black generally, but black olives on a pizza are incredible. It did take a while for me to like them, but from about 18 I kept trying them and it clicked around 21.
So, thoughts on olives?

a fan. i wouldn't sit and eat the cunts on their own like they were peanuts or whatever, but in a simple pasta dish or on pizzas they're boss. definitely required effort to get into them, but it was worth it. well, ish,

I've just eaten quite a few green olives by themselves. After the second or third you start to appreciate the flavour more.
Also, olives stuffed with shit like cheese and chilli are incredible.

my mum made this simple pasta dish with pesto sauce, capers, pitted olives, parmesan and prawns the other day, absolutely godly. stuffed olives are good too, aye.

I never got into them. I might put another effort in at some point, but right now I just see them as grapes but shit instead of nice

Never actually bought them because they look too oily, but I'm sure they're delicious.

i'm not sure if they ARE worth the effort, when i compare the intensity with which i once hated them to the basically just above indifference i have for em now.

If the olives are of poor quality then they're a bit meh. Olives I've had when I've been at fancy restaurants and such have been incredible. This is no doubt true of all food, but it seems like there's a huge variation with olives.

Prefer the green.
My Dad used to marinate them in olive oil, coriander seeds and garlic. They were incredible.
Barbecued black olives (get a load and put them in some foil) are also really nice.

Black olives, cut small in pizza and pasta is fantastic.
Cocktail stick skewered green or black olives, whole and on their own just don't do it for me.

Love them. Also took me a while to get used to them though. I think I was around my late teens or that when Ibstarted liking them as well.
I think I prefer black over green. Had a big bowl of puttanesca the other night. Heavenly.
I've got some green ones in the cupboard that are stuffed with garlic. Not opened them yet. My dad bought them by mistake when I asked him to get me a jar. Is it just a big chunk of garlic inside each olive?

I like garlic but I don't want to eat whole cloves stuffed inside olives.

What's the matter? Scared you might like it?
Green ones are bette than the black ones. There aren't many things I wouldn't like olives in and tapenade is also great with bread or even in a pasta sauce if you're feeling a bit more adventurous. I don't eat the jar varieties on their own, but the ones you can get from the market are one of the best snacks there is (same goes for sun dried tomatoes )
edit: The stuffed ones are always of the lowest possible quality, but even those have their moments.

Same as this. But why do you only ever find black olives on pizzas?

They're ok. Green over black.
My parents have an olive tree that's apparently dead good and they won't shut up about it for a couple of months in the summer. I'm a bit sad I can't get that excited about them.

Green for eating/nibbling, black for cooking/pizza.

In pasta too surely? But yeah, basically it goes with tomato sauce type stuff, although also in subways. Particularly the meatball marinara, even if that is a thing of the past for me now. Also with feta.
