Sounds interesting but they'll have to have someone I'm interested in to take the dive. They're all a bit pre my time or lower league journeyman.
Figured I had posted in here about this before. They had Kevin Campbell on this week, being ex arsenal might be one for you.
I am still liking this as an easy listen while I work, even if you have to take the stories with a pinch of salt. The Bruce Grobelaar one was a favourite

Football ramble bit hit and miss recently but the recent "ramble meets" with JONATHAN GREENING of all people was fucking excellent. Really great insight into the life of a footballer with specific focus on being a youngster under Ferguson at utd in the 90s. Would recommend to any football fans really.

I don’t even try and keep up with ‘daily’. I do the two regular shows, the meets if I like it and then the greatest games.
That Greening one was very good. The have been about 50/50 for me with the guests so far.

No it’s because he was swallowed up by his own arsehole a long time ago, though his mental health rubbish does belittle the subject for anyone with real mental health issues. You’re one of the few left that must lap up what he spews but I don’t find that at all surprising.
The only good thing about this interview is that he might actually learn something on the subject from
someone who actually knows what he’s talking about rather than just using it to peddle some shtick.

Travel software, online banking, electric cars, Private aerospace, etc. He's moved from everyday stuff to the premium wank only idiots with more money than sense would buy into. Because he has likely realised he hasnt done anything really revolutionary that will write his name into human history for generations yet, despite his efforts. If he is instrumental in getting to Mars, despite the methods and the cost, that will be a notable achievement for the history books. I think based on his Tesla stuff however anyone going to Mars with Space X is going to die long before they arrive.

No more shows with the OG 4, it's just gonna be a DAILY podcast with a rotating cast of 3, seleced from Pete, Luke, Jim, Marcus and 4 randoms. The new four are fine, ish, but the whole point of the ramble is that it's just listening to four old pals with great chemistry chat shit with football as the general focus. Now it's just ANOTHER "serious" football show. I can just listen to 5live or football weekly or some shit for something like that.

Not sure if it's too much of a niche but the four guys from Workaholics (3 stars, 1 writer) are starting a podcast called This Is Important (https://twitter.com/podimportant) and I'm beyond excited for it. Workaholics is one of my favourite TV shows of all time and I'm so happy they're doing something together. Hopefully it's better than that Game Over Man film they did for Netflix, although the Skintendo console was mildly amusing.
Also really enjoying Victory The Podcast, mentioned up the page, which is literally just some of the stars and the writer of Entourage talking about each episode, one at a time, with the odd cameo from other cast members. I bloody love Entourage, so it's right up my street. One thing I really can't shake is it started on June 8th and Kevin Connelly was MeToo'd (https://www.thedailybeast.com/entourage-star-kevin-connolly-accused-of-sexual-assault-i-want-it-to-be-known-that-he-is-dangerous) on July 15th, and they've not once mentioned it, and he's never missed an episode. Not even like a 'I'm sure you've heard the story, I just want to deny it and move on' or something. Very very odd.
I only listen to podcasts while driving, and do very little of that now the world's ending, but I've been managing to keep on top of the Entourage one. Now the Workaholics one is coming, I might struggle to stay upto date. I've already completed abandoned the Blindboy Boatclub one, but I think that was less to do with me not having time and more to do with him always going over the same ground.
But yeah, Workaholics guys talking about dumb stuff - count me in!

Well There's Your Problem has been going nuts lately with two episodes a week. Their one on gulf vanity projects is 3 hours of chaos.
Having never heard of it I took a shindig inspired leap and listened to the whole of the gulf vanity projects one. Excellent stuff. At first I was worried the pronouns stuff was alt right hilarity, but when I realised she was actually trans my lefty sensibilities were eased. It was really great, cheers. Gonna rinse the lot now. Have all of my rep.

Been catching up on The New Day podcast and just listed to both episodes of their Best Action Film Tournament. There were some awful decisions along the way (John Wick losing to Speed sticks out) and some weird omissions (for example Rambo I not being in but Rambo II and IV in there) but overall, unlike their TV tournament, they came to the right conclusion I feel.

Speed is better than John Wick, easy.

Agreed. Speed took a ludicrous concept and made it work. John Wick took a good concept and made it ludicrous. I say that as someone who owns the JW trilogy 4K boxset.

Die Hard 3 being chosen over Die Hard was also a massive mistake but I guess you fools will also disagree with me.

Die Hard is the better film but its been so raped on TV and in culture I'd prob go 3.

The Warriors beating Highlander and The Terminator beating Aliens are serious errors.
Does The Raid actually have a story?

Warriors is amazing.
As an overall film I'd have Aliens ahead of Terminator. As an action film I think you've got to give Terminator the edge. Just.

Ken Early called me ‘an ominous sign for the future of civilisation’ today.
I appreciate this might be a bit niche but I have to recommend Life Of The Record. https://lifeoftherecord.com/
I’ve recently listened to the Heatmiser episode and it’s fantastic. It’s literally just cutting between clips of those involved talking about the recording process, how the songs came about, who did what, relationships between those involved etc. with literally no input or narrative from any kind of host or interviewer. So good.
I absolutely can’t wait to listen to the Elliott Smith self titled record episode next. Larry Crane’s on it who is like THE Elliott Smith production guy who so can’t wait to hear him.
I definitely wouldn’t listen to any about bands I’m not into, but I’ve seen there’s also a Walkman episode so if I’m ever looking for something to fill time I’ll probably give that a go too.

Jonathan Liew had a rather excellent dig on todays Football Weekly. Thanking the listeners saying how they couldnt do it without you etc and then saying "because if we wanted to spend ages making a podcast that no-one listens to we'd all just go work for The Athletic"

Not that I'm aware of. There have been a few I've liked in the past but the people involved always end up getting hired by clubs and sacking it off.
This (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-mk-messi-matching-psgs-possession-an-interview/id1488523269?i=1000541597877) from a while ago was quite good.

The most popular one is this (https://play.acast.com/s/thedoublepivot) but I find the hosts both utterly clueless and nails on chalkboard levels of annoying.

The Litvinenko Affair from a British Scandal is a decent retelling of events. The male presenter is a bit annoying, and their other topics are pretty crap - but the Litvinenko one is decent.

I guess it's probably a book tour thing, but he was on Piers Morgan the other day and it must be working to an extent as his youtube channel looks to have grown about 25% subs-wise [600k to 750k] in a couple of months. He's gittin gud grrr.
Shame he sort of fell out with Dan Neidle as I think his cause needs that sort of person to try and work out the nuts and bolts of it, but I think the general tax lawyer perspective is to just throw their hands up in the air and say this is just all too complicated to fix, which may or may not have an element of self-interest to it.
