Give us a rundown.

It's these kind of situations where Lewis' DATABASE really needs putting to full use. When something as big as this goes down on the board we need a proper investigation and for all the facts to be digested. Lewis should be the man to lead us through this troubling period.

Sniffy cut a rather disturbing promo on Giggles. Giggles has shit himself and left the board.

Fannies.

Or should that be frannies?

Lewis

lol I missed the promo developments this morning. I would punt Smiffy if he is going to dangle his fragility over everybody and then threaten other members if the staff refuse to turn the board into a padded cell for him.

Harold declared his e-victory. Give us the details.

If those comments are having an effect on Smiffy in 'real life' when his issues are well known, then I don't think Giggles can really cry too much about issues in 'real life' if Smiffy caused them. The staff seem to know the whole deal so let's just let them deal with it. I don't have Smiffy pinned as that type of bloke, but in the grand scheme of things I don't know him at all.

Or just pop over to 'one of the Irelands' and watch him hide in Giggles garden.

Does anybody even know anything personal about Giggles? Old Irish bloke that's getting married and likes a drink.

There's little point trying to understand it because it's mostly irrational. You'd have to be as mental as they are.

I think the important thing to think about is how we can view the videos now that they've been taken down. A lot of us didn't manage to watch them and that's not fair.

If Giggles 'bullying' him is having an effect on his mental state, then Giggles is literally the least of his problems. In the meantime, he could either put Giggles on ignore, thereby solving literally all of his supposed problems, or we could all tiptoe around him like people trying not to swear in front of kids.

It's obviously been decided that the line has to be drawn somewhere. I don't think it'd kill the board to have a 'don't tell people to kill themselves if they're vulnerable' policy. If you don't think that should exist, then why should we have to protect Giggles from the real life consequences of winding up a mental?

He gave out his first name on the previous board.

Actually, I think it was his full name.

He wasn't telling him to kill himself in every post (even if he was, just put him on ignore), so this 'online bullying' appears to take in every response and crack possible. I can see how that might get tiresome if you're on the end of it, but you can't draw a line other than where it falls foul of our otherwise pointless rules. What if he starts kicking off at every disagreement or lol aimed his way? What if Magic starts threatening to e-mail your work because you lolled at his marriage breaking down? What if we had a Chinese poster who e-mailed your landlord[s] to tell them you're a racist?

The board clearly operates under an assumption of trust. You might not be able to RUIN everybody here, but you could easily cause most people a degree of embarrassment if you were that way inclined (like you did with Mert). Our 'closeness' depends on an unusually high degree of familiarity, which requires personal information being shared (not that Giggles ever told us that much), which requires us to trust each other. We have to prioritise that if we prioritise anything.

We can't just bin Smiffy off, though. People don't even have to sign up to read the board. At this point I'd much rather we all took responsibility and didn't push things to the point where we have this type of lunacy, but if we can't then perhaps the mods will have to step in so Giggles doesn't fear for his family's safety or Smiffy wants to end it. Its all a bit of a joke for us, but if what those two are saying is true then we've got to change things.

So if I'm reading it right (and it's harder than you think to parse that stuff), Smiff now thinks Offy and Lewis conspired to get an alias account for Harold and a conceivable cover in the Lurker thread. That's then all connected (or not) to the Smiff/Giggles stuff, somehow.

How did I do?

That's my understanding of it, yeah. Obviously the accusations of the new account being Smiffy/Giggles brought up old feelings between them and its escalated.

If we get shut down somebody just start a subreddit or something. They allow pedos to have subreddits so we should be alright.
