Best automatic photo backup

Last year when I went on holiday, my phone was stolen from me by a man at a bus stop. It was insured, but I hadn't taken any precautions so I lost all of the photographs I'd taken.

That made me sad and I'd like to prevent it happening again. What's the best service for this? Some sort of cloud thing I presume. It's a Samsung phone.

Mine was turned on without realising. I had something similar happen a couple of years ago, and was delighted to find them all backed up in the cloud about 6 months later when I was randomly looking at backup solutions.

Google Photos if you're on Android. Actually, probably no matter what OS you're using.

I've found Google Photos good as well. The website is nice to use for making albums etc.
