He's really not funny, is he? Some show came on after MOTD and it seems like it's his own. How has he gotten this far? He's a wanker that's unpleasant to look at. It doesn't add up.

He is a bit pointless tbh. :checkit:

He was head guy for Endemol, and he created the idea of Pointless which when pitched no doubt had a clause that he was the quiz cuntmaster, and being a bit posh and knowing people he's spread everywhere.

Talentless and shit.

That's not his show. They have a different "guest star" each week.

The murder show isn't his if it's any consolation, they just have different top stars every week from the world of entertainment and Made in Chelsea.

One of the characters spoke just like him, so I imagined he'd written a show full of twats like himself. I guess that explains how he's got about if that's the state of comedy these days.

He's a comedian? I only Googled the name and recognised his face. I thought he was just some nobody on a show past its sell by date.

My friend knows somebody who worked with/for him, and apparently he is indeed a wanker.

He also knows someone who does quiz programmes as a regular thing, and that Asian one off of The Chase tried forcing himself on him after a few drinks.

Pointless had a lot of potential, but it just dragged out far too long. You could knock an episode out in fifteen to twenty minutes without losing any content.

Yeah, I do quite like Alexander Armstrong, but any back-and-forth including Osman is going to be difficult to stomach.

It's not dictionary corner, that's for sure.

All tv quizzes, with the exception of Fifteen to One (the proper one not the shit new one), make the same mistake which is spending any time talking to the contestants. No-one cares where they live, where they work, or what their hobbies are so just get on with it. Finding out anything beyond their name is a complete waste of time.

100%'s another one that didn't give a shit. Channel 5's greatest contribution to society.

15 to 1 is, and always was, a massive pile of shit. It's just questions.

Absolutely. I watched that new 15 to 1 recently and they spend too long talking shite.

That's what you (I) want from a quiz.

How can you like Alexander Armstrong but hate Osman?

He's more likeable I think. I've said it about 20 times on here but Osman and Armstrong's bantz can be excruciating at times. When it's off the cuff and they're not trying they're pretty good, but when Osman gets all zany it's unbearable.

I don't like when they ask people what they're going to do with their prize money, seems a bit nosy.

Funny isn't really his shtick is it? He has forged a career purely off of being smugly smart. He's a budget Stephen Fry.

I enjoy Osman. I'd rather watch him than Stephen Fry, I think. And certainly rather watch him than Alexander fucking Armstrong. Not sure anything insightful has ever come out of Armstrong's mouth.

My dad used to constantly tell this shit joke that he'd "get an overdraft and a crack habit" whenever contestants got asked that on quiz shows. Probably not far from the truth, in all honesty.

Neither of them are particularly funny, but Osman is the type of wanker that stares at you until you laugh, where as Armstrong just laughs off his own shit joke. Both are trying to impress you, but the latter is infinitely more preferable.

I don't think being insightful is anywhere near a necessity for a quiz show host.

Insightful was the wrong word. He's just bland.

I find Osman alright. Just sort on an okay presence on panel shows, not someone who makes or breaks a half hour.

I've never watched a full episode of Pointless.

Armstrong is quite good on Have I Got News For You.

Yeah, its getting painful to watch. Osman v Merson was an interesting one because you could tell Merson didn't care for Osman but next to him Merson only seemed slightly funnier.

Honestly think Paul Merson would make a better team captain. Merton's been phoning it in for about 15 years and he was never that funny in the first place. HIGNFY is fucking bollocks, even my mum is getting sick of it and she'll watch any old shite.
