Just wondering who the nerds of the board are. I've been expecting my sight to drop off for a few years now but its still fantastic.
I do, yes. It used to be only for driving and watching television, but I find myself wearing them pretty much all the time now.

I wear them for driving and being at the PC, but I'm always forgetting them so I made sure it wasn't put on my licence.

No, my eyes are one of the few bits which actually work correctly.

A shit thread a day seems to be boosting activity quite a bit.
Most of my family need glasses for reading so I suppose I'm a bit of a ticking time bomb. My dad doesn't, but he doesn't read anything and he'd be the last person to admit he needs them.

Yeah, I do like reading what the more informed posters have to say when it comes to politics, but ultimately its more fun to take the piss out of each other.

Bring back racism imo.
Only in the house so I'm only a nerd (/person who wears glasses) in the house.
Luckily not, wouldn't want to be associated with that lot.

What scenarios dictate a need for glasses indoor only?

None, but I'm slightly long sighted. I'll probably need reading glasses in my dotage.

I had to get some years ago purely for the part of the driving test where you read a number plate, and then I didn't wear any for years until I noticed the left eye being worse than the right. The decade of driving illegally never really occurred to me until I realised what it was like to be able to see properly again.

Wanting to wear contacts when I'm out.

The worst kind of poindexter.

I now have reading glasses. They're not that bad.

I didn't know there was such a thing. They're like 90% water or something, you don't notice them.

This is pretty much why I initially got mine. The extent to which you're able to ignore your own poor eyesight right up until the point where something occurs which means you're finally forced to confront it for some reason and realise that you are, in fact, quite blind is a very strange phenomenon.

The toupee of the glasses world.
Surely glasses would be more analogous to wearing a wig. The Rooneyesque transplant would be your laser treatment, so lenses would have to be somewhere in the middle. Spray on hair perhaps?

I do. Contacts don't work for me. Don't need for reading though.
