Did anyone else play that game where if you farted and someone else said slugs before you, they could give you "beats" until you named three pubs and then whistled?
If the farter said slugs first, nothing happened.
Really odd now, thinking back.
That didn't seem bizarre at the time?

I can confidently say that nobody else did.
It would be quite a fun revelation if it turned out literally nobody else did. Not his mates, just Baz.

Reading it back, my money is on just Baz and Mike.

How would a scouser pronounce slugs? Shloggs?

Shloggs la.
Ftfy.
Mike didn't play, it was a school thing in Year 7.
And I'm not scouse. :cab:
There must have been some terrific beatings dished out if you were waiting for an eleven year old to name three pubs.

Do people from St Helens not consider themselves scouse? Sounds a bit like the Welsh thinking they're not English.

They said Thursday is the new Friday. But I think I've really showed them it's actually Wednesday.

Exactly. As for Thursdays, I'm going to let this milk settle and then I'll see what else we've got in.
We had a similar game for burps, where slugs was replaced with snails. I can't remember what you had to name but whistling was replaced with clicking your fingers.
My mate tried to introduce sneezils (pronounced like weasels but sneezels/sneasels doesn't look right) for sneezing but that never caught on.
Did anyone here ever play the game "walk". Where someone stood at the top of the street, and all the other kids start at the bottom of the street. When the top lad said "WALLLLLKKKK" he would cross the street, never officially looking down the street. Once he was walking you would peg it to the next hiding place.
Shit, this game is hard to explain, anyone played walk?
It's 'Grandma's Footsteps' twisted a bit.
Sounds like a weird version of Choc Ice.
