I was reading Newsweek the other day and this article came up on a new type of washing up with less water and the use of nylon beads.

Pretty amazing technology if it's true and it will eradicate red sock colour leakage.

[probably the most boring subject matter ever]:gs:

That's washing, not washing up. I've never had a red sock run into my dinner plates anyway.

I've never understood why washing machines take as long and use as much water as they do.

This is exactly what I wanted to say.

I only skim-read both the articles, but neither seemed to address the possibility of beads getting everywhere and being a nuisance.

When Xeros sells a washer, it also sells a service that costs $1,500 per machine each month—for upkeep and maintenance, and for the collection and replacement of the beads

Sounds practical, I'll take two.

Washing up. :D

This is what happens when you can afford a maid. :(

Typical Tth, more interest in the use of language than the marvel of technology.

In what use of language?
