If they give us a good amount of tickets I might try and get to that. If we beat Birmingham, of course, which is a wobbly one because we're shit at home.

What'd be better then? Liverpool vs United megafinal, or a lolfest of Hull vs Southampton?

The final is on Sunday 26th February, which always annoys me. Saturday day sesh would be awesome with a cup final to watch.

That's the second time he's done that on a freekick. I'd be seething my tits off if I was him.

That's him safe from being sold for another couple of years.

THAT'S WHAT HE'S GOOD AT!

Paulp Ogba seemingly [also] being mega at free-kicks will end up making 'Zlatan' slamming them into the wall a bit annoying.

He should try and get it in the goal imo

Celtic fans turned up at Ibrox the other week in hard hats claiming our stadium was falling down. Bits of Celtic Park have blown away this evening. Posted without comment.

I'm fucking hysterical at the "Fellaini extended one year" notification I just got on my phone bc of this comment. They really extended him lol

Nothing more undignified than fans rounding on their own player for being crap (assuming he tries his best).

Luke Emia

Daniel Sturridge has to be the least Jurgen Klopp type striker in the world. I include Benteke in that as well, he just offers nothing that he is looking for. Everytime he starts we are awful and it's looking more and more likely that he plays a big part in it. He's just too lazy to ever be effective in this team. Hence why he won't start on Sunday, what's most frustrating though is that he doesn't get that.

Reg

Fellaini has a role as a sub. The ridiculous thing was when he was first choice / a major part of the game plan (except for a four-ish game spell including vs Liverpool when United played him as a left-inside-forward-withdrawn-targetman-maestro-hair-trequartista and opposition teams were left wondering what the fuck was going on).

That looks like something from the Third Reich.

Please let us ground share with QPR or something while the fascist spacedrome is being built.

Reg

500m for 60k seats, lol.

Jimmy Floyd
11-01-2017, 11:49 PM
How long would it take us to make that back at £50 a ticket for 19,000 extra seats?

527 home games, that's how long. 21 years. And that's on the assumption we stay successful and sell the thing out, which is a dubious proposition anyway. Completely pointless waste of time, nothing wrong with the current ground.

Reg
11-01-2017, 11:55 PM
You could argue it'd build the brand and make Chelsea games live on telly louder and more appealing...but it'd be a bad argument. 500m could go quite a way if spent on players.

Lewis

The modern Big Club requires a sixty-thousand seat stadium (in England at least, where they actually stand to fill it), and economics don't come into it (although it won't be twenty-one years if half of them are 'executive' dealies).

Shindig
12-01-2017, 07:41 AM
Took us £43m to expand St. James'. Twice as much as Sunderland spent for their entire Stadium of Light.

SvN
12-01-2017, 08:22 AM
£500m? There's no way that's not some sort of con.

Kikó
12-01-2017, 08:32 AM
Papy Djilobodji is apparently part of the deal to make it happen.

Why do they need a 60,000 seater? You could make that up with another couple of energy drink and noodle deals (and if the 'brand' plummets at any point, you won't be able to fill it anyway).

Lewis
12-01-2017, 12:26 PM
There probably are sound reasons for packing another ten thousand parasite seats into the place, otherwise Wembley wouldn't have devoted half of the ground to them, but half a billion probably stretches those. In which case it has to purely be about status, which is something that is only going to be more pronounced with somebody like Chelsea who famously have no HISTORY at all (see also: Tottenham making a point of having a thousand more seats than Arsenal).

Jimmy Floyd
12-01-2017, 12:35 PM
Well, it's been a roaring success at West Ham I suppose, so we might as well try it.

Lewis
12-01-2017, 12:53 PM
Does Stamford Bridge have an obsolete name that commentators can suddenly start using in an attempt to fabricate some pre-move significance?

Jimmy Floyd

The Of Cleves Ground, pronounced 'Clevs'.

What has happened to Luke '15 years' Shaw?

Jimmy Floyd
13-01-2017, 08:51 AM
Probably the least Mourinho player ever. We should probably buy him.

niko_cee
13-01-2017, 08:55 AM
As predicted in certain quarters.

SvN
13-01-2017, 09:10 AM
Shaw has been worryingly injury prone. But when he's been fit and had a run of games, he's been excellent. That's not happened under Mourinho yet. Perhaps it never will.

Jimmy Floyd
13-01-2017, 09:25 AM
He's a great player. Probably needs a more arm around shoulder manager though. He'd do well for Arsenal.

Kikó
13-01-2017, 10:22 PM
He has no interest to sort his diet out and get fit and would rather eat pizza with his friends than be a footballer. Idiot of a man.

Lewis
13-01-2017, 11:17 PM
I remember reading about him hiring his own chef to cook for him and his hangers on. Well done Luke Shaw, sorting yourse... How old are you, mate? Living with your school mates. The club should make him move in with Antonio Valencia until he forgets what banter is.

Jimmy Floyd
14-01-2017, 08:17 AM
Local rumours here suggest he took a couple of his mates up there on a salary to continue being his mates.

Kikó
14-01-2017, 09:33 AM
It's true. Great to be his mate. Basically paid to be a mate, what a life.

Shindig
14-01-2017, 09:40 AM
There was another young kid they took on after Shaw and I can't remember his name. What happened to him?

Jimmy Floyd
14-01-2017, 09:40 AM
If that means all the other local rumours about him here are true (he grew up in my home town and went to the shit comp here), then he's also both thick as shit and a massive cunt.

Shindig
14-01-2017, 09:44 AM
Nick Powell. He's at Wigan now.

John
14-01-2017, 09:50 AM
Powell was long before Shaw. I don't think I've ever seen him have a good game.
