RULES
Pick 5 celebrities you think will die in 2017.
If they die you are awarded points equal to that persons age at the time of death subtracted from 100, (e.g. if Neil Buchanan dies in June 2017, aged 55, you will be awarded 45 points. (100-55=45))
If they don't die before January 1st 2018, you are awarded 0 points.
Whoever has the most points at the end of the year will be the winner and will get a medal.
More than one player can pick the same celebrity.
All entries must be in before January 1st 2017.
If you pick someone who is already dead you get -100 points.

You will be able to keep track of scores here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BgRe29EGYiLO9kR0Pfgq9oyeHrzn1zgxe7wsDYssy68/edit?usp=sharing).

Post your picks here and I will add them to the scoreboard.

Everyone can enter, just pick 5 people and you're in.

He's constantly getting injured though and wont give up the acting, I can see a big accident happening.

Just off to google celebrities battling terminal cancer . . .:D

First result was Colin Meads. Never heard of him so I'm not picking him.

I read somewhere the other day that Leah Bracknell (Emmerdale) is as good as dead, so if she clings on til the New Year it's a guaranteed 48 points.

He's one of those frauds that goes on US tv and tells old people to give him - sorry, the Church - all of their money.

He's not a televangelist. You're thinking of snake oil salesmen like Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. His big deal was the crusade movement, which pulled insane numbers, especially in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. It's a slightly different (marginally less venal) thing.

Despite his religious fundamentalism, he was a relatively decent person (inasmuch as his beliefs permit him to be). Big on the Civil Rights movement, too. His son, on the other hand, is a TV-running shyster who happily services Donald Trump on a daily basis.

Maybe to Bible Bashing lunatic nonces like Ital.

I'm eased off a surprising amount on that. But you wouldn't notice, since I've literally not brought it up since late 2006 or 2007. Deliberately so, too, as my lack of talking about it used to irk Haz Baz no end. It's baffling to me that you keep harping on about it.

Baz: At any rate, don't underestimate how many looney Pentecostals there are in the world. And for a time, he was the sole leadership figure. Hugely famous, and even still deeply influential. Mostly keeps to himself now, though. At any rate, central religious figures are all amongst the most famous figures, due to their reach. Dalai Lama, the Pope and Billy Graham would all be in that category. Top 20? Probably true of all of them. But their fame would be among a slightly older set who tend not to be found on the internet.

No worries. I assume Haz Baz's incessant attempts to needle me on the topic kept it in the consciousness.

At any rate, I'm more of an "Easter & Christmas, occasional loose observation while not letting it influence behaviour or decisions" type now, for what it's worth.
