Merry Christmas Pards.
They'll be burning bedsheets in Gateshead tonight.

Palace chairman and co-owner Steve Parish exclusively told BBC Sport: “I’m not going to blame other people [American co-owners]. Relegation is so costly and I feel with no blame attached we got ourselves in a rut and need a change. We hope a change will change things. Even the most one-eyed opposition supporter would accept we've been on the end of some appalling [referee] errors over the last few games.
“We all bought into the decision to play a more expansive style of football. We all believed in it. That hasn't worked. It's no-one's fault. The players have been running their socks off for Alan, the spirit is good.
“But now we’re going to wind the dial back the other way.”
“We’re talking to a number of people to make sure we get this right, nothing has been agreed.”
"We hope a change will change things."

Pardiola for England...making Southgate's England reign shorter than Big Sam's.

Guaranteed this means Big Sam surely.

You don't sack your manager when it's christmas, you're 17th and Allardyce is available and then not go on to offer it to him. You'd have to be mad.

Allardyce has probably told them that he'll take the job if it becomes available, hence the trigger pulling.

Allardyce is like mushrooms or those bacteria that eat rotting meat.

What's Kevin Nolan up to nowadays? Probably a decent swap, anyway.
Pardew getting £5m for Xmas from Santa has probably softened the blow a bit.
He specialises in hot and cold runs does Pards. They probably would have made Europe.

The hot runs started getting a bit too short to call them runs really. Your time runs out when your last actual good run was over a year ago.
Absolute lol at trying to claim his attacking style of play was his downfall, wasn't his centre back his top scorer for most of last season? His football is shit. Not being able to set up a team to defend properly doesn't automatically mean you're an attacking genius.

Would it be fair to say that this will be the best [club] squad Big Sam has managed (at least since Bolton)?

Would you not say that he had largely that West Ham team (outside of Payet obvs)?

I actually completely forgot them. Still debatable, though I retract the easily.

When Remy comes back it will have to be the best strikers he's had. He should get a shit load to spend as well. He should be able to get top half quite comfortably.

He had Owen and 'working for a contract' Viduka with us.

The real question is what would Sam do with a Cabaye?
"Sorry, you're not getting near the first team til you learn how to tackle."

That's about the only thing Cabaye can do these days.

Allardyce could be in for the boxing day game.
Clearly talks started before Pardew was actually fired.

That or Palace can dictate terms because he is desperate to get back into work and probably won't get a better offer any time soon.

Palace is a very Allardyce squad. Bunch of solid pros with the odd flair player. They're also small enough (unlike West Ham and Newcastle) not to have the fanbase whinge when they don't resemble 1970 Brazil in year one.

It's official.
Hopefully his first act of retributive pettiness is to ban Southgate and co from attending games (I'm sure Liverpool did something like this once, or maybe they just mugged Woy off in a similar vein).

Couldn't imagine something so petty going down well with any potential England internationals at Palace. That said, I can't imagine he gives much of a fuck about players apart from what money they can make him.

He had a mid table squad with us, lest we forget.

Wasn't he fourteenth (or about there) in the bullshit form league table from when he took over? What a quality manager. Hopefully he gets a crack at the England job one day.

From the end of the January window to the end of the season we were 10th. It wasn't a fluke though, he'd assembled a mid table squad, which then fell apart when he left.
