Then today went for a really short walk before going to a 1st birthday party and sitting inside all afternoon because nobody I knew was outside, and they were all happy keeping out the sun cos they’d all be sunbathing yesterday/earlier today. Only saving grace was my wife’s fit mate being there.

Hopefully tomorrow can be spent sunbathing at my parents.

They do, the warning system is done on a grid with likelihood on the x Axis and impact on the Y axis. In Essex the cross was in the the 'unlikely but potential disruption' position.

Dublin maxed out at a 9 on the Beaufort scale yesterday. Palo Alto maxed out on an 8. https://www.windfinder.com. So, mildly windier in Dublin. An 8 is "gale force" at 62-74 kph, a 9 is "strong gale" at 75-88 kph. In Brighton, which is the station I checked in the UK, the Beaufort was also an 8, the same as Palo Alto.
