Also, you'd need more than one Storm Tyrone for it to be a gang rape.

niko_cee
19-01-2024, 09:58 PM
5 storms from Storm Nick.

Once in a lifetime stuff.

Spikey M
21-01-2024, 05:53 PM
Can these named cunts just fuck off now?

Jimmy Floyd
21-01-2024, 05:59 PM
It's very boring having OMG STORM GERALD every time it gets a bit windy.

Boydy
21-01-2024, 09:02 PM
The wind sounds pretty mental around here now.

BBC News - Northern Ireland facing travel disruption as Storm Isha lands

I walked past that scaffolding that collpased about an hour before it did so. I didn't like the look of it then.

Very windy here. Storm Leroy is gang raping the south east like a deviant.

Giggles

We're down power now. There's that many out now that I'd be surprised if we even have it back tomorrow.

Spikey M

Leave my fences alone, Leroy.

Spikey M

Just joined the power cut crew :moop:

22-01-2024, 09:09 AM
I had no chance sleeping through any of that. :moop:

Spikey M
22-01-2024, 09:27 AM
Yeah, that one deserved a name.

Giggles
22-01-2024, 09:30 AM
It had a name didn't it? A weird one beginning with I, cane remember what.

Yeah, I just mean that it actually warranted one, where as most of them are just farts in a jam jar that would have passed without mention if it wasn't STORM BARRY.

Ben
22-01-2024, 10:07 AM
Storm Ronnie Pickering that one. I look after a few sites at work and one of them is up past Fort William. Luckily nobody died last night but the site did.

Sir Andy Mahowry
22-01-2024, 10:09 AM
Didn't even manage to blow down the fence panel that is barely hanging on round mine.

Shit storm.

Jimmy Floyd
22-01-2024, 10:10 AM
Seems to have been worse out east than it was here, though we had some fun gusts as well. My boss in Kent called in with no power this morning.

Sir Andy Mahowry
13-02-2024, 04:34 PM
I think I have trenchfoot.

I decided to go for a walk and promptly it started absolutely pissing it down. Was a really cold rain and my shoes are absolutely not waterproof.

niko_cee
26-02-2024, 03:54 PM
Is it just me or is it ridiculously windy today, seemingly without warning?

Yevrah
26-02-2024, 04:45 PM
Yeah, it's been like that wherever I've been for about a week now though mind.

John Arne
08-03-2024, 07:43 AM
37 degrees today, and whilst I like warm weather, it's getting a tad silly.

I echo Spikey’s sentiment. I’m currently on top of an exposed hill doing a site acceptance test and it’s absolutely fucking baltic. My knackers are nowhere to be seen.

I'm in DC next week and four days are above 20 degrees.

Spikey M
09-03-2024, 10:45 AM
20c or 20f?

Oh. And why? Isn't Washington DC a complete dump?

niko_cee
09-03-2024, 10:54 AM
Good museums and insurrection opportunities.

Shindig
09-03-2024, 11:17 AM

One of the best cities to visit in the US, imo.

Spikey M

One of the best cities to visit in the US, imo.

Really? I stand corrected. I'm sure I heard somewhere that it's basically the same as Baltimore.

Pepe
10-03-2024, 05:05 PM
Might suck to live there, I do not know. The nice thing with visiting is that they have a lot of museums (Air and Space Museum ) and they are all free. You also have white house, capitol, etc. Georgetown right next door is nice and food is good.
.

Ben
10-03-2024, 05:18 PM
My family are about an hour outside DC and I've always enjoyed it. Indeed the Air and Space Museum is awesome.

Shindig
10-03-2024, 06:16 PM
Aye, I'm seeing that on Wednesday. I want to check out the Udvar-Hazy Centre as well so I can gawp at Enola Gay and an SR-71 Blackbird.

Spikey M
10-03-2024, 06:36 PM
Yeah, OK, that does sound incredibly cool. Either they were talking about a different city and I've misremembered, or it's just like London with cool shit interspersed with poverty and crime.

niko_cee
10-03-2024, 06:40 PM
DC is rough as fuck quite quickly when you stray from the big lawn thing with all the stuff in or around it.

But that's probably true of most cities.

Shindig
10-03-2024, 06:44 PM

Right, what is fucking going on here? Week after week we had fucking named storms coming out of our ears and then nothing for ages as it approaches the rarely seen Storm N. Storm Nick, as was prophesied in the stupid chart of names to be used this year. So now what do I see? Storm fucking Nelson? Who named that? The Spanish? Nelson? Are they taking the fucking piss? Absolutely seething. Bomb Cadiz.

It looks like it probably was Spain (https://metro.co.uk/2024/03/28/british-tourist-dies-spain-storm-nelson-batters-parts-country-20550412/), yes.

Atleast you haven't been involved in friendly fire this way.

Thanks for asking.

Spikey M
06-04-2024, 07:31 AM
20c today apparently.

Shame it's being accompanied by Storm Katie McKateface or whatever this one is.

Jimmy Floyd
06-04-2024, 07:37 AM
Whenever the Irish name storms they should always use one of their silly names to troll the British. Storm Keoghluin which is somehow pronounced 'Brian'.

Last few weeks have been pretty brutal here. Normally 33 everyday, but last few weeks have seen 35-36 every day. Plus, we have the bonus of the monsoon season starting in a few weeks.

The one time I went to that part of the world (Hong Kong and Thailand about 20 years ago) I found it almost impossible to operate, the humidity hits you like a wall of steaming hot water. Far worse being in 30 there than in 40+ in Europe.

Spikey M
07-04-2024, 09:35 AM
I don't recall what any weather other than windy feels like. It's been different shades of this shit for about 8 months now.

Yevrah
07-04-2024, 09:42 AM
Indeed, I’d take the horrors Jim describes over the shit we’ve had to put up with any day of the week.

Waffdon
10-04-2024, 01:28 PM
Yeah, that sounds about right. Last 2/3 weeks were exceptional leading into 14 days of 35c+ in Malta and me looking forward to the breeze when coming home. The breeze hasn’t stopped since

Don
20-04-2024, 05:08 PM

Spikey M
20-04-2024, 06:29 PM
The year before last was glorious too. Field fires not withstanding.

If we have another summer like last year I'll be riding Le Tiss into Exeter to firebomb the Met Office. Absolutely seething at this shit.

I'm not asking for much. 23c, sun and no wind will do me.

A rare sighting of a 19 currently on the distant horizon of the Met's 2 week forecast but if it's accompanied by the clouds as it currently is, that's not going to make up for this fucking cesspit.

John Arne
25-04-2024, 01:55 PM

Sir Andy Mahowry
29-04-2024, 06:51 PM

Rest of the week is meant to be decent too, although I imagine that's false hope and it will be raining like a mother fucker come Wednesday.

Jimmy Floyd
30-04-2024, 08:42 AM

Jimmy Floyd
30-04-2024, 09:13 AM

I just had a look at the weather radar - a huge blotch of rain just sitting over Wales, swooping northwards towards the Irish Sea. :moop:

We did get a day of sun on Sunday at least.
