We survived the return of Gabby Agbonlahor! Villa were very good, I think they'll get playoffs.

I hope the United Arsenal game is as good as last seasons. Was the best of that fixture in a long time, despite the United win.

The Sunday fixtures suggest we're back in 2001 and the smoking ban is just a twinkle in Tony's eye.

Sir Andy Mahowry

I really hope he plays Rashford up front.

He wont though, Rooney probably will and fuck all our attacks up.

Ian

Oh Christ, I'd forgotten we're tomorrow lunchtime. Well, I suppose after watching England get fisted at cricket in the morning it'll give me some consistency to watch United get shat on in the afternoon.

25 minutes into the AFC Champions League final first leg and there have been around 529 tackles, most of which were fouls.

Still Jeonbuk 0-0 Al-Ain

Two-legged final? :dirk:

Jimmy Floyd

Try 4am for the duration of a five-Test series.

Is Jose going to shut this one down as per or is there too much PRESSURE on him now?

That's not too bad. I have to struggle to stay awake until 2am every bastard weekend.

Giving Villa a Friday night away game was a mistake. So many pissed up wankers. There were some sound guys, too, to be fair, but the amount of wankers was ridiculous.

Sir Andy Mahowry
19-11-2016, 11:40 AM
Man Utd: de Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian, Carrick, Ander Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Martial, Rashford. Subs: Depay, Rooney, Lingard, Blind, Young, Romero, Schneiderlin.

I'm liking that.

FEC Phil Jones

Smiffy

I didn't think Mourinho had the balls to go with Rashford although looking at that defence it's going to be a De Gea day.

John Arne
19-11-2016, 12:26 PM
I fancy Arsenal today. 2-0. That United defence looks a bit leaky.

Just in time too.

You'd imagine a good run from him and Southgate/whoever will be chomping at the bit to name him CEC (current, obvs).

Lewis

United should play this midfield/attack as much as possible. Michael Carrick will inevitably get injured at some point, but 'LvG' planned for that.

Great defending from Southampton. It looked like they wanted a draw from the first minute, but you have to try and find a way. I'm not sure what the point of putting Sturridge and Origi on when there's only 11 and 1 minute left respectively, is, but the Brazilians looked knackered.

A point against Southampton isn't too bad. We were in control, had enough chances to win, defended well ourselves and came away with a clean sheet when the forwards aren't firing. I'll take it.

Another ten points from the next four please.

Andy
19-11-2016, 05:48 PM
We changed are shape completely for the game, they played for the draw and got it. Think we defended well and still looked reasonably good on the break.

Think we're a striker short though, Redmond doesn't look up to it at the moment.

Liverpool really missed Lallana. Too much reliance on Coutinho as a creator.

Reg

What are the expectations among fans this season, Andy? Have people taken to Puel?

Smiffy
19-11-2016, 06:01 PM
Personally I think if you played that game before the international break then you'd have been slapped senseless.

Quite how you can look good on the break with what was it, two shots? Give over. 0-0 was a fair result and a good one too.

Possibly, like I said Lallana would have made a huge difference, we'd have also been without Cedric who I think was one of our best today.

Austin had one of the best chances of the game, he buries that header usually. Would have liked to see Long introduced earlier and possibly a change to 442, towards the end.

0-0 was a great result for us, we set up for a draw and got it against one of the form teams in the league. Can't complain.

Andy
19-11-2016, 06:28 PM
50/50 really.

Anyone who has been a fan for 10+ years is enjoying how well we are doing and knows were probably at our best point in the last twenty years.

The fans who are a bit younger or weren't following saints before we went into administration are all a bit deluded and think we should be spending 50-60m every summer and paying people 150k and by not doing so we're showing a lack of ambition blah blah blah.

I think Puel is great really, plays good football, plays the youngsters and gets the best out of rotating the thin squad. A top half finish and getting out of the Europa group would be a good season.

We're a couple of players short of getting too six again. Mane and Wanyama where both a big loss. In an ideal world we re sign Schneiderlin in January.

Zidane/Ronaldo donning life. Not many win 3-0 at the Vicente Calderón. Four points clear of Barça, although their 'mate' status has been lost these days. I'm not sure who to. Football seems to have shrunk in the last couple of years.
