Holy shit, it's such a load of old wank I'm not sure whether it's worth explaining let alone embargoing.

So is the Metro saying Di Caprio ate a body that had been cryopreserved?

Oakeshott is such a spanner. It was a court order, not an embargo. Of course you had to fucking blank it out. Embargoes aren't legally binding, break an embargo and all you do is piss people off. Break a court order and you're looking at a huge fine and editors facing jail.

/my mate worked on The Telegraph's version of this story and kindly told me what it was all about at about 9pm last night (after I plied him with beer).

That judge needs a slap. "Sure, have this extremely dangerous procedure that has never proven to work. When are you having it? Oh, when the cancer is so advanced you'd have days to live. Great. I'll sign off on all of this. Say goodbye to your family. If this works, you'll never see them again."

We've now got a workaround for assisted suicide, thanks to him.

Hang on, so what is the story?

A 14-year-old girl who wanted her body to be preserved, in case she could be cured in the future, won a historic legal fight shortly before her death.
The girl, who was terminally ill with a rare cancer, was supported by her mother in her wish to be cryogenically preserved - but not by her father.
She wrote to the judge explaining that she wanted "to live longer" and did not want "to be buried underground".

People successfully brought back through Cryogenics: 0.

So she's frozen right now?

I remember in 2008 or 2009, at the peak of becoming interested in football, wishing I could be frozen cryogenically until the World Cup.

Frozen and dead. That's the best part, really. Sends a letter going on about how she's not ready to die, court agrees with that and she dies regardless. Plus the process of unfreezing has to be so slow the brain is bollocked anyway.

I'd be fuming if I was the Dad. Not only is your daughter dying of cancer at a tragically young age but then you're paying a monthly fee to the Cryogenics company for literally the rest of your life.

They'll be able to cure all her ailments in 10 years.

The silly thing is you not only have to wait until there's a cure for whatever horrible ailment you have but also death.

I'm going to buy myself a chest freezer and start up Cryo-Pets. Tenner a dog/cat, £2.50 for a budgie.

Of course nobodys been brought back from cryo, that's the point. It's a dope idea though. If i got $50k left over at some point i'll sign myself up for one of those tanks. Or maybe i just preserve my brain.
