View Full Version : Rank the Premier League teams/clubs in order of how much you like them

This is a social experiment, after enough people have done it I will tally up and calculate the liked/disliked league table.

I don't care what criteria you use, this is entirely up to you. If you can't separate two or more particular teams or don't have a preference amongst them, just do it arbitrarily or by whatever means you see fit.

I don't care enough about most of them consistently enough to have a full 1-20 ranking. I'd just be making most of it up. Still, in the interest of playing along and SCIENCE:

1. Manchester United
2. Bournemouth
3. Everton
4. Southampton
5. Swansea (this is where any real opinion ends and I'm just starting to make it up to get this post over with)
6. Leicester (despite a residual dislike leftover from a few games seeing them at Highfield Road)
7. Tottenham
8. Stoke
9. Burnley
10. Middlesbrough
11. West Ham
12. Watford
13. West Bromwich Albion
14. Sunderland
15. Crystal Palace
16. Hull
17. Arsenal
18. Chelsea
19. Manchester City
20. Liverpool

There are about 14 clubs there who could change on a daily basis.

I guess that'll do. The weird thing about the mackems is that there are situations where I'm alright with them and, to be honest, I kinda pity them in their current state. I work in an office full of them though and the gloating they dished out last season was ridiculous. The others near the bottom are just there because I either dislike their football or just find the whole team to have a rather 'just there' persona.

City and Chelsea are where they are because they barely feel like clubs any more. Its all purge and spend on a 12-18 month basis.

I like Arsenal. I like Arsene and I like how he runs that team. It takes a lot to produce such consistency and still feel like a team of underachievers. Bournemouth are having the time of their lives with a young manager and can really use this time to build up some stability. Nothing about Leicester has been stable but last season's historic title win is something you can revel in for years. As for Boro, another club that I admire for how it's run. They give their youth a chance and obviously have the training to get them up to standard.

Liverpool get props for having clown periods that take the heat off us.

Boydy

It's probably the Pulis factor.

I imagined Liverpool would be close to the bottom of many of these lists. I still don't understand all the Liverpool hatred though.

In all honesty I don't care about most of the teams at all an they could be anywhere between say 4th and 17th. Fox example I enjoyed Leicester's heroics last season, but had it been West Ham or Southampton doing the same I would have been just as pleased. The bottom three are the only teams I really just don't like at all due to their fans or rivalry and Hull are just a joke (although that again is more down to their owners more than the team itself). I think I generally prefer teams that are well run or that have been in the Premier league when I started watching it as a kid but don't usually do much.

GS

West Bromwich are one of those clubs which are just 'there'. There's nothing particularly offensive about them. One could harbour a dislike for Stoke because "Delap, mate", but even then you're hard pressed to come up with compelling reasons to dislike them to any significant extent beyond the general area bearing comparison with modern-day Aleppo or Sirte.

Arsenal, clearly, deserve contempt on the solid tripartite grounds that (1) their fans vastly overrate their players whilst using their first names or other awful designations like "TH14" (2) they've literally ruined football for the working man by turning the whole experience into a terrible corporate effort with the sole intention of wringing every last penny from the fanbase ("Don't leave the Emirates without your souvenir programme! Only £18.50!"), and (3) we've had to listen to years of them justifying failure by citing that they play football "the right way".

Wenger's continued nervous breakdown and the inevitability of the February collapse just about allow the rest of us to maintain an interest. I imagine Wenger views his job now in much the same way as Robert Oppenheimer came to view nuclear weapons.

Anything that does represent Liverpool FC that you will agree with? Maybe Steven Gerrards assertion that Joe Cole is as good as Messi?

I have no truck with any sense of 'exceptionalism' for "Liverpool FC" that some of their fans seem to buy into.

I've attempted this a few times but all I found was I have no real feelings about any of the teams except United. I slightly dislike Palace and Chelsea, and for many years disliked Liverpool and still don't care for their fans but think Klopp is great and they're quite fun to watch. I kind of dislike Man City but like Pep. I really enjoyed Leicester's season, and Ranieri seems a lovely chap, but I don't really care what happens to them now.

I've never understood the hatred and disdain fans have for other clubs in the vast majority of cases.

1. Arsenal - What's not to like (especially their lolworthy fans). Fantastic ethos, good club, and generally cunt free.
2. Everton - Probably because of MOYSEH being Scottish and doing such a great job. From this point it becomes who do I hate less.
3. Leicester - I don't hate Leicester though. Just really annoyed they came up to the Championship after us and they've fucking won the Premier League whilst we're still languishing in hell.
4. Crystal Palace - Completely inoffensive nothing club. Who cares?
5. Southampton - Similar to Leicester. We were playing them in League One and now they are established top 10 Premier League sides. Had the same financial woes we did. Fucking hell.
6. Swansea - I don't mind Swansea at all really. Not bothered about the Welsh thing because I'm Scottish.
7. Bournemouth - Insignificant to me. Stole our best player though, the bastards. Shouldn't be where they are. And Eddie Howe is a turd.
8. Manchester City - Don't mind CITEH. Were a total nothing club that were gambled on by some insane rich cunts and now they are donning it. Good on them. I remember when they were turd.
9. West Bromwich Albion - What a pointless fucking club supported by that cunt Chiles. Get out of the Premier League! Boing fucking off.
10. Liverpool - I really should hate Cess but I don't that much. Have provided some wild entertainment over the past 10 or so years. And some fantastic lolage.
11. Tottenham - Eurgh. £££. My uncle is a die hard though.
12. Stoke - Just a nothing, shite club again. Fucking Stoke. Dire and provide nothing of value at all.
13. Sunderland - As above, which is a shame because they are better than that.
14. Middlesbrough - As above, which isn't a shame because they are fucking awful, and an awful place too.
15. Watford - Never forget that play off final. Horrible little wank club that belong in League 2.
16. West Ham - Supported by cunts.
17. Burnley - Probably shouldn't hate them as much as this but I do. Burnley for fuck's sake. Get to fuck.
18. Hull - Hopefully this latest financial turmoil should fucking annihilate them. (omg I spelt it right without checker)
19. Chelsea - Shoot the Chelsea scum. Horrible club, horrible owners, horrible managers, horrible players. Just the absolute epitome of CUNT.
20. Manchester United - No more needs to be said. :)
