Got to love the determination for a bargain.

Someone told us that people had been queuing there since 06:30 BST and one woman told us she had travelled for more than an hour to get there because it was her closest store.

A mother in Milton Keynes said she had taken her five-year-old daughter out of school to ensure they could get in the queue for a discounted bear.

"She's only five, they're not really doing much in school that's important at that age," she said.

If this film shows the character at any point as their original woman self, would the tranny actor not be able to film those bits? It reminds me of that Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jan/13/eddie-redmayne-golden-globe-stephen-hawking-disabled-actors-characters) piece about how Stephen Hawking should have been played by a disabled person ('cripping down', surely?).

On a practical level too, perhaps hiring a non-disabled actor is easier. The ability to walk allows Redmayne to portray Hawking before being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. But I can’t get away from the fact that, if these arguments were made for white actors “playing black”, our outrage would be so great that the scenes would be left on the cutting room floor.

Jupiter Now Has 79 Moons

More than 400 years after Galileo Galilei discovered the first of Jupiter's moons, astronomers have found a dozen more — including one they've dubbed "oddball" — orbiting the planet. That brings the total number of Jovian moons to 79.

The team of astronomers originally wasn't even looking for the 12 new moons. Scott Sheppard of the Carnegie Institution for Science says he and his colleagues had been trying to track down a giant planet they think may be lurking at the outer reaches of our solar system.

As part of that search, Sheppard was using the 4-meter Víctor Blanco Telescope in Chile in March of last year and realized that Jupiter was right near the part of the sky he wanted to search.

"So we could also search for Jupiter moons while looking for things that are well beyond Pluto," Sheppard says.

One thing that helped was the especially large camera attached to the Blanco telescope. "[That camera] allows us to search the whole area around Jupiter in a very few images," he says.

I thought he was alright in those charity matches. However, those games are like playing in the park with your out of shape friends so it isn't a good indication to judge him. He trained with Arsenal, Dortmund and a few other teams and nobody signed him. Dropped down a few levels until he fights a team mad enough to give him a deal.

Well hardly, as good as he might have been at football it would have been an absolute waste if he'd chosen that ahead of sprinting.

The best thing that could come out of this would be a special card in FIFA19.

His ball control is terrible, but the primary issue is that a lifetime of training so that he can run fast in one direction means he completely lacks the type of agility you need to be decent at football.

If you're twice as fast as anyone else on the pitch you should be able to find enough space that ability to run a route or hold on to the ball under contact doesn't much matter. It's certainly more feasible than becoming a footballer.

I agree with the deterrent point, capital punishment in its current form is hardly a deterrent. That’s why you should make the execution as prolonged and torturous as possible. Do the thing the Assyrians did where you make lots of cuts into the guy, cover him in honey, tie him to a boat and push him into a stagnant lake, and watch as maggots begin to infest his living body until he dies of dehydration. That would probably put a lot of people off in a way that the lethal injection wouldn’t. There are people in some countries who *choose* to die via lethal injection when they get too old.

It’s third world shit, it really is.

I saw something else the other day where a woman with diabetes had to wait 3 days to afford her Insulin and light heartedly joked about her surprise at still being alive. What a country.

Today I learned that Neil Buchanan was also a rockstar (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marseille_(band)).

There’s a mad Arsonist running about Dundee. Three major fires in three days now. High school yesterday, Indoor Market/Gym today and an abandoned hospital the other day. Dens Park tomorrow hopefully.

If it does we’ll have the Popo browsing this place in no time. Might get some new members whilst you’re doing time.

There was a massive Dundee feature on channel 4 news because of that ridiculous museum that's opened on the front. Like a proper Blair era throwback in terms of ludicrously located white elephants.

The whole waterfront is mental these days. Good luck finding a pub in the town centre not charging Edinburgh prices from now on.

Family racks up £21k medical bill on 'holiday from hell'

The family racked up a £21,000 medical bill, which insurers have refunded.

What an absolute non-story.

Big fan of the grandad in that story. The heart attack obviously isn't great, but he's travelled because his son needed a life saving operation and he's still managed to fit in some snorkeling.
