Because every time I see the other thread I wish it was about this instead, basically this shit is glorious and anyone who disagrees is objectively wrong.

The ones over here are really crap and Robinsons goes for about 7 quid a bottle over here. I used to live off the stuff.

I was going to reply Mi Wadi in the other thread but I was afraid Hammer would throw too much of a strop.

Orange and raspberry for me.

Belvoir stuff is great but there seems to be no consistency to what flavours are available, in my local shop at least.

I noticed a peppermint cordial the other day which I want to try out of pure curiosity. I can't imagine it working, but it's too strange not to check.

As I said on the old board, this:

and this:

Lime cordial is for nonces.

Lime cordial is for southern comfort only.

This stuff is the only cordial I buy now. Looks like I'm walking around with glasses of wine at work too.

Double concentrate apple & blackcurrant or lemon & lime

Robinsons is awful shite.

The own brand high juice is the only stuff I can drink, anything else just tastes like sugar and/or dentist's mouthwash.

If I'm being honest, I do think that squash should only be reserved for children who haven't learned about any finer things in life I always keep a bottle of it in the fridge just in case I fancy something other than water and for the odd occasion I actually don't have anything better to drink. They're all a bit shit, but mixed fruit is probably my favourite.

edit: The home made ones are actually tasty.

That's the best of the Belvoir options, but Tesco only seem to have it about a third of the time.

I used to love squash but then I stopped drinking it for a few months for no particular reason and it has tasted disgustingly sugary whenever I've had it since then. I'll only drink it now if I'm at the house of a squash-drinker, and only if I'm really hungover.

Elderflower cordial is pretty nice though, but the literal sweet spot between too sugary and tasting like nothing is minute.

How do we feel about the squash / water ratio? I tend to go with the equivalent of about half a cm per pint, I suspect that will be on the low side as whenever I've seen other people making it it looks like diabetes in a cup.

Do you do cordial first or water then cordial? I like adding the cordial second so I can watch the mixing. My ratio is pretty weak. An old flat mate rocked about a 30/70 split which was absurd.

Also, is keeping cordial in the fridge the norm? I've never thought of it. Surely it's a bit moot as the water temperature will govern the overall temperature anyway?

Yeah, fridging it is a bit odd but then some people keep things like ketchup in there so who knows.

And squash first so I can accurately judge how much is going in, although I'll admit it's more fun to pour it into the water.

The 'real fruit' cordials tell you to keep them in the fridge once they're open, but on the odd occasion I get a bottle of Robinsons or whatever it goes in the cupboard.

It's better squash second if you are using soda water, to make DIY fanta, as it limits the frothing.

Oh yeah squash and soda water is a pretty solid vodka mixer as well, to channel the Waff-meister.

This was on offer in ASDA just now, so I've gone for it. Looks fancy as fuck.

I feel like this is another thing that foreigners always get wrong. The ones I've had in Belgium/France have been weird - mint flavour or kinda lavender flavour that tasted like soap.

Big fan of Ribena and Vimto, although haven't actually had them for years.

Think I'm too much of a scumbag to enjoy this fancy squash. Tastes like nothing.

The state of that Belvoir stuff :D

+1 for the Vimto here.
