I fancy us this weekend. 3-0.

Also annoying that the Glasgow and Manc derbies are at the same time.

Hopefully a fair few murders on and off the park for tomorrow's Glasgow Derby.

So excited for tomorrow. When PL is back after a weekend it's like a drink of water after a walk through the desert.

I thought there was a Friday game every week this season?

Jimmy Floyd
09-09-2016, 07:49 AM
No, just 8 of them or something.

I still haven't watched any PL and I'm away all weekend so that might continue. In fact I haven't seen Conte's Chelsea yet. Are they good or shit?

Old Firm derby at midday, why don't they go the full monty and play it at 9am.

Let's do it, lads

All about Derby day.

John Arne

Big weekend over here, too.
3 teams level on pts with 2 games to go. The amount of bribing going on must be obscene.

Hopefully a fair few murders on and off the park for tomorrow's Glasgow Derby.

A load of CCTV operators are on strike tomorrow, so those off the park murders are a possibility.

We had a half eleven kick off on a Sunday a few years ago. The idea is to stop people getting pissed up before the game, but all it means is people buy in a load of Buckfast the night before and start at home at about five in the morning, rather than going to the pub and drinking for four hours before the game.

Jimmy Floyd
09-09-2016, 09:38 AM
Glasgow Derby with capital letters is like something Pro Evo would say if they didn't have the licence to say 'Old Firm'.

John
09-09-2016, 09:51 AM
It's a 'Rangers died' dig created by Celtic fans. Would you expect anything less from Woeful?

Missing most of the derby as I'll be at a wedding. Seething.

Lewis
09-09-2016, 10:59 AM
The Manchester Guardian has been running daily articles on this derbeh for weeks. I really should have trademarked El Massivo.

0-0 for me.

Jimmy Floyd
09-09-2016, 11:32 AM
The pity is that this wank will probably get more viewers than the Champions League final, or any Premier League title deciding match. Pehhhrsonalitehs.

Mazuuurk

+1 on the 0-0. It'll be a shitfest alright. At best we'll get a missed penalty or a red.

Still excited

It's also nice to see a game between Pep and Mourinho where it isn't just about whether Messi will be unstoppable that day or not.

Pen
09-09-2016, 03:25 PM
I like 'El MAssivo' a lot. I think I'm going to claim it as my own invention outside of the board. That said, I think I'm going to miss the game tomorrow which irks me immensely.

igor_balis
09-09-2016, 04:43 PM
It has been going that way for a few seasons anyway, but the start of this season has confirmed that I've gone all Dennis "Cutty" Wise (not that one) with regards football. The beautiful game ain't in me no more. None of it. Don't think I'll ask Scudamore for funding for an amateur boxing club though.

I was sick of the build up to the United game by about 6.30am on Monday, I think.

"JOSE VERSUS PEP!!!"
Shut up.

Lewis
09-09-2016, 09:50 PM
For all his noise about not being defensive, I would love it if Corporate Jose eeks out the shittest 1-0 (with United scoring after John Stones gets caught poncing about in midfield) of his career tomorrow.

I never recall such hype about this game (it's never been as big as Utd Liverpool), but this year it seems to be off the scale. Is it just down to the managers or have Sky made a conscious effort to massively build up a certain few games this season?

Shindig
10-09-2016, 10:57 AM
If you want to avoid bother at a match, tell nobody it's on. People will drink whenever. People will have any excuse to kick-off.

Lingard and M???????ian look a bit short of what's required right now. Both too indecisive.

elth
10-09-2016, 11:45 AM
Pathetic.

Sir Andy Mahowry
10-09-2016, 11:45 AM
That came about from Rooney attempting a long diagonal when he could have just passed it to Pogba.

No idea what Blind was doing either.

Lewis
10-09-2016, 11:45 AM
That was all Claudio Bravo.

Yevrah
10-09-2016, 11:46 AM
Rooney's diagonal balls must be one of the most pointless things in football.

Just four consecutive mistakes.

Lingard has been appalling so far, poor kid.

Rookie mistake really.

Reg
10-09-2016, 12:20 PM
No Rooney praise after the bashing? Mokbull will be quoting you in shame. He's played two good passes to Mikh, set up the goal with a good free kick, put a great cross to Ibrahimovic for the header, and nearly set up another goal just then. United's best player so far.

City's first 35 minutes were so impressive.

Raoul Duke
10-09-2016, 12:22 PM
It'd be awesome if Bravo turns out to be absolute bobbins.

Rashford hattrick to win it in the 2nd half

Rooney's done since really good things and some facepalmingly naff things.

The problem with Rooney is he spends 95% of the game being ponderous wank and breaking up our attacks, then has a couple of good moments and all is meant to be forgiven.

Samadini
10-09-2016, 12:26 PM
Didn't fully appreciate the Ibrahimovic goal first time seeing it. Imagine that chance falling to Walcott or Lallana.

Lewis
10-09-2016, 12:27 PM
They should play him at right-back.

five time
10-09-2016, 12:52 PM
This Bravo chap has made more mistakes in this match than Joe Hart would make all season. :bonkers:

He's not done well but Hart has been a flapper for a few years now.

Lewis
10-09-2016, 12:54 PM
Joe Hart would have at least cleared the initial ball in before celebrating like a big man and losing his concentration for the next phase of play.

Reg
10-09-2016, 12:59 PM
United looking tired now. Start of the first half looked the way to bother City but difficult to keep up the energy and concentration I guess.

Sir Andy Mahowry
10-09-2016, 01:01 PM
De Gea showing Bravo how to play the ball.

elth
10-09-2016, 01:01 PM
The trouble with getting your team selection completely wrong and having to fix it with two half time tactical subs is that your ability to make substitutions to get fresh legs on is limited.

randomlegend
10-09-2016, 01:04 PM
Rooney's been pretty good this half to be fair to him.

Reg
10-09-2016, 01:06 PM
Is that tongue in cheek? I was about to post the opposite!

randomlegend
10-09-2016, 01:07 PM
....actually thought he had been.

elth
10-09-2016, 01:09 PM
He's been better than in the first half, that's for sure. Still makes mistakes but everyone in the team has been.

Lewis
10-09-2016, 01:09 PM
He hasn't been the worst player on the pitch, but Fellainimania is a bit pointless against anybody with enough brains to work the ball around the space he happens to occupy.

Reg
10-09-2016, 01:10 PM
He's been involved, but mostly that's just shouting for hopeful penalties. (Should have had the Bravo one though.)

Pogba's been quiet. May actually be a case for "not used to the speed of the Premier League"?

I thought I'd edited in an explanation to this which seems to have been lost to history - the reason you can't be a genius at Real Madrid is that it is the club of the establishment, and everyone who writes about football is either a communist, a hopeless romantic, or both.

I only saw the highlights of the United game but it took them fucking long enough to start doing anything. That Ibrahimovic finish was class though.

And Rashford needs to be starting more. Let one of the other wide players decide who's going to be not shit on the opposite wing to him.

Indeed. The clamour to insist Joe Hart was dropped solely because of his distribution is laughable.

Take these chumps, including "Sky Sports Expert" Gary Neville no less, all on the distribution bandwagon, with the not, so subtle implication that honest Joe would have done better.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/10574173/the-claudio-bravo-debate-experts-give-verdict-on-manchester-city-goalkeeper

Lol @ John. Been very quiet today.

We were shite. I talked about Barton being slow, lethargic, and lazy before, but one thing I didn't expect him to be was a coward. He hid from whistle to whistle yesterday and the minute Rossiter is fit he needs to be dropped. He's a mouthpiece, as expected. Kranjcar was shite too. A yard late in every challenge, but he still gets a higher grade than Barton because at least he was there to be a yard late.

Football churns through coaches far too quickly, it's why there's never any institutional knowledge and the same mistakes get made over and over.
