Good.
We should have let Vardy go.

Does anyone expect this to actually be enforced? Thought not, it would be about three-a-side by half time.

Is that the only new rules? I disagree, by the way. The matches should be reviewed afterwards and the punishments should be retrospective.

Physical contact with any match official in a non-aggressive manner
So no handshake at the beginning or end of the match then.

Those yellow card offences are too vague to be enforced. If you shouldn't run to a referee to contest a decision, is a breezy saunter ok?

Someone will get sent off for doing this in a BIG GAME during the first two weeks, then they'll stop bothering with it.
Looks good to me.
I'd like it some day if football got closer to rugby with the refs mic'ed and the players respecting them.

That would be my guess too.

I hope they do, fuck 'em. Hope it's a scummer as well. Rooney.
Enforce it properly for a week and people as stupid as Rooney will catch on.

This sort've happened in the NBA.
When officials made what a player thought was a bad call, they'd often loudly and demonstratively clap at the officials.
One off-season they made this a "technical foul" which results in two free throws for the other team as well as keeping possession.
People don't clap at the refs anymore at all lol.
This will only work if everyone involved has the bottle to piss pretty much everyone not involved off for about six months. It'll be an interesting test of Floyd's First Rule whatever happens.

+1 to someone getting an early season shafting on the back of this before it is quietly shelved.

From what I understood, these aren't new rules - they're just going to enforce them

Among several minor changes to the laws regarding penalties, potentially the most interesting is the amendment to yellow card a penalty taker who "illegally feints" once his run-up is complete. This means slowing to a stop immediately before shooting is not allowed, with a yellow card and an indirect free-kick to the opposition the result.
The law does stress feinting during a run-up is still permitted.

Load of bollocks. What's the next step? Having to pick a side beforehand and telling the goalkeeper and referee?

Allowing teams in quater, semi-finals and finals to bring on an extra substitute to bring on in extra time.

Not a new law of the game, but handy.
