When the Glazers and David Gill agreed to a big increase in Wayne Rooney's salary in 2010, they wanted to know how I felt. I did not think it fair that Rooney should earn twice what I made and Joel Glazer immediately said, 'I totally agree with you but what should we do?' It was simple. We just agreed that no player should be paid more than me. We agreed in less time than it takes to read the previous sentence.

Doubled his money apparently. :harold:

I would love to be back home for the game tomorrow night as I'd have got a ticket by hook or by crook.

Just browsing Google today to see if any chancer has set up a chippy around here and some twats have opened a pub in downtown DC called 'The Queen Vic' and apparently it's the unofficial meeting place for Villa fans in the area. I might pop down and BOTTLE a few of the scummy bastards.

Be good to see Boro stick 4 or 5 past us, good luck to the handful that have traveled up for this.

Villa/Blues should be decent fair, reckon Blues will take it, tidy outfit under Rowett.,

It's a sign of how far we've come that we can make 10-11 changes and still put out a pretty decent team tonight. Hope we don't make that many though and get through to the next round. Keep the momementum going.

Never thought I'd be one of 'those guys' but quite glad we're out of the cup so that we're a little fresher than Palace for Sunday.

It depends though, we would put out a mostly completely different 11 like we did against Preston so it wouldn't have mattered too much. I would rather be involved in the cups; would love to visit Wembley in my lifetime for a non-playoff final game.

I'm looking forward to the cup game tonight. We'll probably get thrashed by Manchester City reserves but it's a break from the doom and gloom of the league and it will be a decent atmosphere. I'll be getting to Sunderland early as I'm off work!

We were fantastic last night. We are so good going forward. I'd quite like a lower division side at home next.

Sam
23-09-2015, 08:56 AM
We played the left winger up front and then a central mid on the wings, alongside a striker in the middle.

Jackett has officially lost it, we won't sack him yet, but I'm praying we do. This is borderline Dean Saunders speciality formations.

I thought Wolves would challenge this season. Shame. I always thought Jackett was a pretty good manager too.

Sam

I thought Wolves would challenge this season. Shame. I always thought Jackett was a pretty good manager too.

I can't quite figure out what he's doing if I'm honest. The club itself is just rotten from top to bottom.

This summer we've lost Bakary Sako, Nouha Dicko, Danny Batth (injured), Stearman all of whom were the spine of the team. Replaced them with kids who clearly aren't up to the task. Changed the formation from a fast and effective 4-2-3-1 (effectively a 4-2-4) which was dynamic and got the best out of Afobe to a narrow diamond that has zero pace, and zero width, leaving our best striker totally isolated.

The club implemented a wage cap (won't pay more then £15,000) which is quite frankly suicide at this level, sold our player of the year and captain to a relegation rival, told our main playmaker that we won't be renewing his contract and essentially spent 9 months pissing unable to find another left winger to replace Sako.

It's an utter mess, reeks of relegation to League One again, it's a shame but the bandwagon is easy to jump on. Out of my regular coach of 50 that would have gone to Preston none of us are going, got refunds on all the tickets.

Simply can't justify paying top prices at Molineux for a club that is just so poorly run.

Think I'm washing my hands of Wolves till something changes, probably a certain Jez Moxey, hardly a surprise that Stoke began to rise once he got the sack. Can only dream of the day that happens, failing that he has a heart attack and is forced to retire.... not that I would wish ill on anyone.

Once again, we were absolutely inept last night. Our defence is awful and Manchester City would have scored double figures if they bothered to try in the second half.

As ScousePig and myself said recently, we are doomed and we are definitely going to get relegated! We could even get a record low amount of points. Every last bit of optimism I had before this season started has now gone. Going to work in Middlesbrough is going to be no fun in the near future, that's for sure! :moop:

Jones could do with what only United could call "The Smalling Treatment."

That being an extended run of games in his actual position. I'd be keen to know how many starts he's made at centre-half since he's left Blackburn. Other than not nearly enough. Fergie always loved a workhorse he could move about.

The goal against us wasn't "scuffed", it was a brilliant, skilful goal. I remember thinking the same thing as above but then watched it back in slow motion and saw that he skilfully back-healed the ball into the goal. Shame we lost that match but that goal was brilliant.

Think the stabbing story is bullshit. I think the dustbin lids had a pop at the away turnstiles after witnessing the damage in the ground, hence us being kept back for fucking ages and the remnants of a shitload of pepper spray filling the air.

The police will tell you it's annoying to have to police these games, but they fucking love it. Didn't get the main escort to the ground until 8pm (never needed a piss so much in my life), and then wrapped the entire end up in a march down the high road which didn't end until 11:30.

Steamheads nowhere to be seen all night. Fantastic turnout from The Arsenal.

The stabbing story came from a quite remarkable web of fake twitter journalists and people just bought it as fact. Among their other recent scoops was the BREAKING story that Oscar had had 'intercourse' with Eva Carneiro.

Look it up, it's superb. They have seemingly endless fake football journalist accounts reporting fake racist chanting and congratulating each other on their professionalism.

Mcclaren is on the board isn't he? Wonder if he'd vote to sack himself, I think he probably would.

In crisis apparently.

Newcastle have won 4 games in 2015, so it smells just like more of the same shit from here.

How come Tiote doesn't get a game anymore? He was a beast not so long ago.

Because he is a cancer

Spent the last few transfer windows wanting to leave. Doesn't fit into the fancy possession based football we have going on either.

He'd be playing every game were it up to me. Would only be about 6 games due to suspensions, mind.

Worth switching on to this Betis/Depor game. Cartabia scored a cracking goal from about 35 yards out. On first look it seemed the 'keeper was at fault but the flight of the ball was crazy.

Enjoying that Ranieri quote BT are running at the moment.

"Arsenal don't have weaknesses... but if they did I wouldn't tell you."

Heh. :D I like Ranieri.

Deportivo scored another lovely goal. Worth finding highlights of this game.

Even if we are trying to play possession, we still need a midfield shitkicker. Plus Chieck loves to play in bad areas anyway.

Kid in the hall yesterday told me that Barcelona were losing 4-1.

"...to Celtic?!"

Absolutely we do and if it's shit kicking you need and Tiote is not being used then something is wrong.

The midfield is a all a bit pre-Coquelin Arsenal.

I always found Tiote's tempo lifted the team, too. I can take him fannying around with the ball at times and having a shot from 40 yards if he's going to raise the game of others. There's no inpsiration or leadership on the pitch at the moment.

Bring him back Schteve.

You need a midfield bastard like Tiote when you're in trouble.
