"I am about 100 yards from the main entrance to the ground, what makes this evening unusual is the sheer number of supporters outside the ground.. The key thing is many want to be here to be part of the atmosphere.
"Right outside the ground was the Manchester United coach and it was stuck, it wasn't going anywhere. There were about 10 police vans in front of it and it was surrounded by a sea of fans. I didn't see any bottles being thrown then, I watched for a couple of minutes, but I have seen videos on social media of a couple of bottles being thrown.
"Most fans standing around were gesturing and singing, to say the bus was being attacked I think is something of an exaggeration."

Tyler kept going on the entire match about how West Ham "always play the right way" but it doesn't always bring them success. Where has this reputation come from? In my lifetime, they've always been shit and played crap football. Are they still living off their reputation from the Bobby Moore era?

Can someone tell me what Ross Barkley has ever done to make people think he's a good player?
He can dribble a man in central midfield and burst past most over ten yards. However, the fact that he was obviously bigger and quicker than most around his age seems to have left him with a serious case of Micah Richards syndrome. Always seems to make the wrong decision.
Lewis
11-05-2016, 07:56 PM
Ross Barkley, with his unique skill set of dribbling without a brain, ought to be a crap winger or a hard-working striker. Building a team (or at least your attack) around him is foreign idiocy.

Yeah if there's something in the rumours on Lallana then I'd take it. Carragher said it perfectly the other week he looks OK between the boxes but he doesn't really do much in the important areas. He always looks a lot busier than Coutinho and Firminio but they get the goals and the assists.
If we got 50 million as has been mooted for them pair we should be biting hands off. If Spurs also want to give 25 million for Henderson as well I'd get rid of him as well.

It's amazing youth coaches don't spot that stuff re people bullying youth levels because of their early advanced size, but they are basically paid to do well in youth tournaments rather than produce results for senior levels. In cricket you get the same thing as well, I'm always being told some big lumbering kid is the next big thing but it's the ones with technique who come through in the end. Sports people are pretty thick in general, I guess.

It's funny - everyone has been lauding Stoke (relatively) this season, yet sticking the boot into Martinez and Everton. They're separated by 4 points. Stoke have scored a filthy 39 goals this season. Top half with a -15 goal difference.

You've mentioned Stoke a few times and that's about all I've heard from them other than a few weeks at Christmas where they beat the Manchester Clubs and were top eight.
Massive weekend for Southampton. Potential to finish 5th. We're the form team against Palace who will be fielding a second string, the sort of situation we always manage to balls up.

Have I? I'm not sure. My point is no one is criticising Hughes when he's done a comparable job with a comparable squad.

Everyone had a wank over their summer recruitment, but any Stoke HYPE presumably comes from people still seeing them as a bunch of shithouse cloggers, so everyone has a fit when they batter a decent team without scoring off a throw-in.
Stoke have under performed, in my view. There's a lot of talent there.

But its all managed by Mark Hughes and his rolodex of agents. Agents that land their clients moves to Barcelona who then wind up at Stoke.

It's all flakey foreigners though. If Xherdan Shaqiri turned up every week, he wouldn't be at Stoke.

Exactly. All underperforming wasters who shouldn't be anywhere near Stoke. They're a Ricardo Quaresma short of a full house.

11th if the league started in January, when we made our key signings and changed things around. This is the best Sunderland side I've seen in years, I just hope we can keep M'Vila and Big Sam Allardyce doesn't get a better offer, like President.

Not really. Sunderland have battled relegation for the past four years with four different managers. You could probably find some posts of Scouse saying the same about Advocaat, Di Canio and Poyet.
Sunderland will be comfortably midtable for as long as Allardyce stays. Probably knocking around the top ten. Then the fans will start moaning about shit football after a couple of years.
They'll sack him, appoint Ranieri who Leicester fans have turned on following three disgraceful top eight finishes, and they'll win the league. Or give the gig to Kevin Phillips and finish bottom in a Villa-like season.

"While we wait for further reaction regarding Roberto Martinez, a relaxed, open-shirted Sam Allardyce describes the season for Sunderland, who are safe for another season in the Premier League."
:D
Sunderland sending Newcastle down is unfortunate as I would have preferred it to be the other way. As for Liverpool, it's a win win situation now I reckon. Win the Europa then we've got Champions League football, lose and we've got a season where we'll benefit from the free weekends and allows Klopp to implement his way even futher.
Good times considering.Too right.
Gonna stick a few quid on WBA too, considering we'll rest even heavier than the Swansea game.
Triple win!

It might not be the best time to be discussing that, as right now he's a bit of a don. The fans will only really turn on him if the football is dire and the results are shite.
You've probably said this about 3 different managers in the last four years.
Not sure. I went through a spell of not liking our managers very much - O'Neill, Bruce, Di Canio and one or two more. Then I quite liked Poyet and thought he had something about him until it went tits up, and I quite liked Advocaat.

Is M'Vila any good?
He went missing for a couple of months, but on the back of the season as a whole he's a top half type player at least. I might be biased but a team like Liverpool could do a lot worse.
They could also do quite a bit better.
