Phonics, you will hate the game initially btw, steepish learning curve - the control seems ridiculous at first and just hitting the ball feels like some kind of victory, but stick with it.

The manager was dealing with it and mentioned the six month warrantee they give used consoles. Basically, they want to take no chances in case it knacks inside six months and they have no stock to replace it with. To be honest, a second pad for my PS4 helps me take on couch-only stuff for reviews. And I use one for the PC as well.

Grainger Games. They're my only option in town for new stock. Would've got £130 back (credit) if they took the pad. Without it wound up being £88 off. CeX would've probably taken the lot off me with no questions asked for an extra fiver but they sell used Switches for £330.
Just tried 3 games to get back into it. Jesus fuck, it felt like I've never played it before.
Did get 2 goals and an assist (should have been mine, I pool shotted a teammate into the ball) in the last game though.
Took me about 3 games to remember there are two different cameras and that using both is pretty essential.

About 95% of the players I'm matched with are constantly running to the ball. I've lost count the amount of times I've been lurking at the 'edge of the box' attempting to line up an air shot only for a teammate to ram the shit out of me.
I tend to be the one at the back if you're in with that type of crowd.

Tried it in handheld for the first time today. It's alright but having my hands that far apart is weird. I'm using Z to just reset the camera behind Mario instead of the right stick which just feels awkwardly out of the way.
Absolutely destroyed it in casual mode only to collapse when the pressure was on in ranked.

It's weird. It's real time but The basic attacks are automated by standing next to the enemy like an MMO, you then build up meter by auto attacking which eventually gives you access to 3 other skills that do more damage/other effects based on your point of attack (by pressing x, y or b) and if you time them correctly you get a boost to your special. Once you've built up enough special meter, you press that and a quick time event pops up which determines damage. Based on whether the enemy you're fighting is weak to that special you can then chain it with party member specials for extra damage.
That's literally the simplest way I can put it and I'm 6 hours in...
I think if I actually understood what was going on it might be good but at the moment I'm just lost. This isn't helped by the fact that I'm still in tutorial mode.
I also got repeatedly killed by a lvl 81 ape called Territorial Joe while I was level 6 trying to head to a main quest. This games weird.

I suppose the new Metroid Prime is the next MEGA game. Not sure that's any time soon though as they didn't actually have any footage for E3, just the reveal.

Never played Metroid. Seeing how slowly I am making progress in Zelda, that one might last me until the next console comes out.
Yeah, I'm tackling Mario a few moons at a time. It was always going to be that way. My backlog is on other consoles and will remain that way. Metroid Prime doesn't even have a date so maybe late next year, if we're lucky. A Nintendo Direct is planned for January, though. Apparently there's a Pokemon announcement coming. The rumours circulating around From Software are gathering pace. If a Souls game came to the Switch, I'd bite.
