    Euro 2016 - Quarter Finals

    Poland v Portugal (ITV, 20:00 - 30/06)
    Wales v Belgium (BBC, 20:00 - 01/07)
    Italy v Germany (BBC, 20:00 - 02/07
    France v Iceland (ITV, 20:00 - 03/07)

Now that the meltdown has cooled off somewhat do any of these teams have what it takes to win the whole thing?

I can guarantee that one of them has what it takes to win the whole thing.

Not sure whether to support Wales or not. Probably not.

It'll be whoever wins Italy/Germany. I think Italy are slight favourites.

Portugal bollocksing their way to the title, and Nani wins the Ballon d'Or.

I think Italy will win it, but then I've already changed my mind twice so far because I know fuck all.

Do the winners of the top two face eachother? ie Poland vs Wales in the semis.

Basically I'm asking if Wales vs Iceland can be the final.

I've got Italy in the work sweepstake. If they win this one I will almost be able to taste the money.

I'm going to the stade velodrome tomorrow in the awkward position of hoping neither team wins.

Germany - Italy will be tasty. Both looked good so fancy the winner of that to take it. France look too fragile.

Germany are going to win it. Playing good football, settled team and a cutting edge far above what the others can muster.

Germany have never lost to Italy in a tournament match before, at the World Cup or the Euros (out of eight meetings so far).

Means nothing when they're out on the pitch, but it's an interesting factoid.

Where did you get that bollocks statistic? Italy beat Germany 2-0 en route to a World Cup victory in 2006.

Ah, I wrote that the wrong way around, although I meant the correct thing. I meant to say that Italy have never lost to Germany. Eight meetings, no losses.

    1962 World Cup: 0-0
    1970 World Cup: 4-3 (aet)
    1978 World Cup: 0-0
    1982 World Cup: 3-1
    1988 European Cup: 1-1
    1996 European Cup: 0-0
    2006 World Cup: 2-0 (aet)
    2012 European Cup: 2-1

It's a pretty decent record, although only two of them were settled with a result in normal time.

That's the issue with the current lot. Proper English hardmen would spray paint thinner on their tricot so the fumes keep them at full PASSION throughout the match. Strawberry? Get the fuck outta here.

Spraying perfume on your kit or taking snaps of your platinum toilet is all very well and good when you've actually won something. Doing it when you're an inconsistent, injury prone, mid-table wanker should get you burnt at the stake.

    Roll on the great crash.

I hope the great crash is as sudden and dramatic as the Brexit one.

The first five seconds of the studio broadcast to open the show were brilliant, almost certainly better than anything the game will provide. Pougatch opened with 'the world and his wife have had their say', to which Ryan Giggs let out a nervous titter. Pougatch looked really fucking pleased with himself too.

Fantastic stat: 41 attempts at direct free kicks for Ronaldo at international tournaments and he's never scored one.
