I got my best run ever with lack of injuries. Only Colidio missed much time (4 months) but Tarashaj has been a brilliant cover up front.

I should really start a game but I found on FM16 that I never settled on a new one once I had a long term one on the go. I have continued a bit in this one though and have gone into the next season. Good few youngsters brought in or kept at the club like Cresswell and have let the likes of Boufal, Sterling, Witsel, Jonny, and Teodorczyk go as their contracts were up which has seriously reduced the wage bill by around 800,000 a week. Might see can I revamp with some youngsters from my own squad (though I did sign two players already).

I've improved both league position and performances in every single season, so after a comfortable mid-table finish and a handsome £70m in the WARCHEST I was of course made favourite to get relegated





Continuing the constant theme of returning to past loves, Alexander-Arnold and Dozzell were made permanent, Ryan Kent and Jodi Jones also returned to give me a handy selection of lightweight flaky wingers





Season went better than expected, with a very early flirtation with the top followed by a brief dip and then hovering between 6th-9th all season before coasting in to 8th with an arseload of draws






Star men were Beverly Hills Cop's Axel Tuanzebe who was made captain, and Ryan Kent who was the most sturdy winger at the 25 game mark






Even more shocking than Coventry City doing well at football was Gael Bigirimana missing out on the Player of the Year award, breaking his 17-season streak






In good news for Bigi, the people still love him. Bad news is he gets no Juicy shirt sale moneys





Progress over the years. To continue the pattern might have to mean equalling our best-ever league finish of sixth place, which was followed by a Fairs Cup campaign that saw Bayern Munich vanquished at Highfield Road in 1970, with nobody talking about the second leg





Speaking of the Fairs Cup, a week after the league had wrapped up Man City won the FA Cup which was a welcome surprise/a needless distraction

It's the 4-3-3 that DS posted before but I just pulled one player from each of the 3 lines to make another line of 2. Didn't change any of the instructions. Most assists come from the deeper of the two strikers or my fullbacks.

Basically everything we know about contract expiry goes out the window. The player stays with the club until an agreement is reached with another club for their transfer, or the player is released on a free. I think they can play for the original club in the mean time.

2019/2020 Man United Season Report

Leading up to the season I did some serious trimming of my squad. To the point where I ended up with a squad that was actually way too thin, which left me a bit fucked when I got the inevitable cascade of injuries in November. Here was the main business before and during the season:

Sanches kind of completed my midfield in that I now probably own the 3 or 4 best central, allround midfielders in the world. The only one who can really rival Pogba, Neves, Bazooer and Sanches is Verratti, and maybe Weigl from Dortmund.

That said, a few injuries and I was a bit borked. So I got this kid in in January, who looks shit hot:

I'm training him as a Roaming Playmaker, as that seems to be the closest to the complete midfielder type you get. He's more flairful than powerhouse, so I've stuck him on some extra tackling traning. If it just goes up to 13 or maybe 14 I'll be happy.



As for the season itself:

Premier League:
Comfortable winners



Griezmann started the season amazingly, but then sort of faded a bit and "only" ended up second top scorer (on 25 goals) after Luciano Vietto who plays for Liverpool (27 goals). All in all, Griezmann scored 42 goals in 49 appearances over the season, which is definitely OK, but not quite Zlatan levels.


Champions League:
Winners, after this nervy final...



Here, Griezmann definitelly excelled, with 17 goals scored in total. Barcelona were still outstanding, still mainly thanks to the unstoppable Messi and Suarez (more so than Neymar for some reason). But I managed to thwart them in the Semis this year, which was a nice revenge from the final loss last season.



As for the kids, this one is mainly what's keeping me at United now (I keep thinking I should find another club to manage soon now that Zlatan is gone, I'd like a bit of a new project actually).

Now, he's developing nicely but since I'm not playing with AMC's, and since he's more suited as a Striker anyway in my opinion, I play him as that, usually as the outer striker in the front 3, and I'm training him as a Complete Forward. But even though he's played 37 games in the striker position this season, and scored 17 goals and 14 assists, he's still only "Accomplished" as a striker.

How long can it take for a player to be "Natural" in a position?

Apart from that, Jonathan Tah is a fucking beast. He was my top rated player. Which is saying quite a lot, when playing with such an offensive tactic and high defensive line, really. Here are the main stats:







Next season plans:
Get another good defender in, as Fosu-Mensah doesn't really cut it. I've got my eyes on Aymeric Laporte and Jose Gimenez, both whom would cost around 60 Million I think. Though, I'd prefer getting someone young in, and also id would be nice to find some good English players (there is a huge draught on English talent at the moment in my save).

I've put 410 hours into this version (more like 300-350 if you don't count it idling in the background) and bored now, done all I wanted to. I applaud your dedication Smiff.

I've had some right cracking saves tbh. When I log into the image site I use there's a stream of reminders but as far as newgens go this is my best save so far. I wish I had loaded more countries but it doesn't seem to have affected too much. I want to see what I can do with Pilkington and Hunter too. I think both have potential to be record breakers at the club.

Long term aims now are relatively simple. Overtake Man United's 24 league titles (we're on 22) as well as FA Cup , overtake Real Madrid in Europe, it's currently 12 v 8 to them and honours, we're six behind whiilst hoping to further extend our record in the EFL cup. Along the way I'm hoping we can beat a few of our preset records most notably most wins in a season which stands at 30 (1978/79) and I don't think it's too far fetched to expect to beat the 11-0 win over Stromsgodset at some point too.



He's definitely on course to beat Roger Hunt. 143 in 228 thus far but that's just league goals. Overall he's at 230 in 341 games.

I had a tendency to get Hunter, Harker and Harper mixed up tbf. One was a keeper, one a striker and the other only left in the summer after just six games in 11 years for us....has over 200 career games just off loans though.

I'm hoping we do it this season as I don't hold out too much hope of it happening in the next couple of years. Lucas Leiva and Dejan Loven both went to Guangzhou Evergrande in the January market for £33.5M although Dejan has another £7.5M to come in add ons so not a bad deal. The wage bill was something like £2.6M a week and I'll be aiming to get it down to £1M. I've kept mostly the first team thus far with the youngsters getting the odd start now and then but the long term aim is to bring them all through so the inevitable bids in the summer will be accepted providing they match our valuation otherwise I'll use them for tutoring purposes.

Mignolet decided to damage his achilles and has been out for the past 3/4 months whilst Firmino, who I rejected bids for in January ended up breaking his leg a few weeks later. Six months out.

Origi and Sturridge have grabbed 30 between them but the goals have been spread out. I've struggled to find a spot for Mane but he's still chipped in with 10 in 9 starts. Squeeky bum time.

It's bugging me that Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher won't entertain coming back to the club.

I've just had my intake. Perhaps losing Mignolet isn't that bad (I bet that statement doesn't exist on the internet up until now!)

Liverpool - Season 2016/2017

It took from the beginning of the season until the 12th of December to lose our first league match as we ran rampant. Victories at Stamford Bridge (3-2) and Goodison (4-0) proving every bit as pleasing as the 3-0 annihilation of Man United at Anfield and the manner in which we did them over in the EFL Cup was fantastic.



Pogba's penalty should return to planet earth early 2018. As it was it proved pointless in the end as we were defeated in the final to Arsenal.



I mentioned earlier about us being 'ten games away from greatness'.



But ultimately that proved to be as disappointing as the last time as we bottled it.



Opening season hasn't been great as far as blooding in youngsters but that's the long term aim as opposed to flooding the first team with them. Trent Alexander-Arnold had a few starts owing to his versatility and he'll be one I look use more next season.



Kevin Stewart was another but he's not really going anywhere and is likely to be allowed to leave in the summer. Andre Wisdom returns from loan and he'll be thrown into the first team as I hope to be rid of Klavan. Jack Dunn, Allan, Taiwo Awoniyi and Luke Hunter, the keeper from youth intake are all earmarked for next season where it looks more and more likely that Phillippe Coutinho and Emre Can will be departing.

How has Trent turned out for you? Gomez I was thinking of a using as a centreback.

On a side note, well into my second season but check it out. Bloodshed all round.

Liverpool - Season 2017/2018



£92M brought in and more expected next season as I hope to offload the big earners. Unfortunately that means Firmino and Clyne this upcoming season as both want well in excess of £200K a week. I've got the wage bill down to £2M which given my history is pretty good.

The clubs balance stands at £300M at the time of writing and only money spent has been the return of Steven Gerrard as the U18's manager and Sammy Lee as my assistant.

The best thing about the season is we ended the wait. Rather emphatically in the end as well.



Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge once again proved too formidable upfront.





Which is more than can be said for Taiwo who has found the step up a bit too much thus far.



One man who hasn't is youth product Luke Hunter who continues to go from strength to strength.



He did concede six against Arsenal but I take the blame for overloading the entire first eleven with kids.

Not too many starts for Allan but I'm expecting Milner to leave in the summer so there is an opening for him.



Jack Dunn and Lazar Markovic are probably going to join Milner given neither took their opportunies albeit limited ones.

Overall though I think it's fair to say Andre Wisdom and Marko Grujic were the main developers.





Stats might say otherwise but on viewing alone they were.

Back to the scores.

Our FA Cup bid was ended by Chelsea in the cruelest of fashions but we had bigger fish to fry at that point anyway.



Losing to Tottenham in the semi's was a disappointmenet. You always want to get to the final when you get so close.



Thems the dangers when you're giving youth a chance.

The most gutting part of the season came in May.



Considering we lost Can and Coutinho in the summer, I felt we did well to qualify for the knock out rounds. PSG proved easier than expected.

A date with Juventus followed but we were far too dominant in the final third.



Man United were to come in the semi's. Neither club wanting to lose least of all Man United given they were witnessing an impending league title arrive at Anfield as well.



Then shit got real. Real Madrid in the semi's, the winner facing Tottenham or Barcelona and the first leg couldn't have gone any worse.



It would require a famous night at Anfiield to stand any chance of going to the final.

Waiting In The Wings.







Not exactly blessed in the youth department thus far.

Me either. In most cases I've just got one tactic that I rarely even change.

Wes Harker who arrived in my first ever intake has taken me by surprise, I didn't clock who he's been likened too up until now however.





Firmino leaves for Bayern Munich in the January window so I'm hoping he'll be ready to take his place.

Heading into January and we've just bid farewell to Firmino and Moreno whilst Clyne looks set to join them in another round of savings. Daniel Sturridge, James Milner and Karius all went out on loan with their new clubs paying 100% of their wage.

With that said, this should make John proud.

First season.



Henderson, Matip, Lallana and Sakho (nearly £500K a week) all have 18 months remaining so will be looking to offload them in the not so distant future which would leave Origi as the clubs highest earner and I hope by that point we have a few more able additions coming through plus more places free in the starting line up should aid their course.

Liverpool - Season 2018/2019

Some big names left in each window which helped the wage budget decrease rapidly and January was as hectic as could be as I decided as many youngsters in the U23's should get six months experience or so.




Season Summary

It was always going to be difficult retaining our Premier League title with so many first teamers leaving but it was disappointing for it to end up back at Old Trafford after they finished 3rd last season.



It would appear early doors that both Manchester clubs are going to be the top dogs in the next few years. Chelsea improved considerably but it wasn't much of a title challenge by any of the top five in truth.

Arsenal may look at it as a missed opportunity given what's going on at Anfield but overall I would say we deserved to finish where we did.

Away from the league though we appeared to go from strength to strength.

Not so much the EFL Cup.



But revenge was dished our later in the season though to ruin Man United's hopes of a double.



Given our starting line up contained Luke Hunter, Andre Wisdom, Jon Flanagan, Marko Grujic and the exciting Wes Harker it's fair to say this is as close as I've got to supposedly being unable to win anything with kids.

But it got better. Much better.

An easier group than last season and it showed as we qualified after just four games. That doesn't excuse the two defeats but I was a bit more generous in giving youngsters a chance as a result.



Our passage to the knock out round complete once more and Borussia Dortmund were hoping to end it.



They didn't. Our early onslaught in the first half was excellent and set up a quarter final game against arguably the weakest side left in the competition. Shakhtar.

Which made the first leg the biggest irritation of the season.



It would require a special night at Anfield although I was suprised we didn't fill the ground. 2,000 odd short which has been rare this season. Something that wasn't rare though was the clubs ability to bounce back from the brink.



Easy in the end but a tie that should have been over before kick off. Real Madrid lay in wait and after last seasons 4-3 aggregate defeat to them I felt we owed them. The winner would face either Bayern Munich or Manchester City in the final. The winner would of course be us.

The testicular fortitude shown after not only going behind but being pegged back later in the match was telling.



If Allan goes on to do nothing else, he did enough here.

Madrid were apparently ravaged by injuries by Ronaldo, Benzema, Rodriguez, Ramos, Kroos and Modric all featured though as I'm not buying into it.

Finally though it would be an all English affair in the final. Manchester City defeating the Germans to reach their first whilst we would be looking to win it for the first time since 2005. Well, you don't win anything with kids, do you?





Just look at that final ten minutes.

Way beyond expectations but perhaps I'm underrating those I have.

Moving on. The big two are still Luke Hunter who has successfully established himself as number one now in place of Mignolet who I hope to sell in the summer and 'the next michael owen' in Wes Harker. Forget the fact he's a target man, clearly mirrors that treacherous twat.

He is getting better though.

As for our number one. He'll be in the England squad soon I reckon.

Well that was a quick turn around.



Barely seven months later.

On the plus side. (Because him being back in the Premier League with City is shit!)



£50M roughly. Not bad, not bad.

I'm trying to use only youth intakes. I probably should have kept a good number of them for tutoring purposes but I figured first team football for them would be more beneficial.



We've recouped £315M in fees thus far and the wage bill is now down to £1.1M. Unheard of for me.

It's such a foreign experience but until the remaining £181M is paid off then I'm going to stick at it. I've probably gone about it in the wrong way by getting rid of all those on big wages but ultimately I've had more fun managing just Harker on his lonesome than I have on a good few recent saves. It's rare I go Liverpool, even rarer to do this sort of save however it's worthwhile when you see how good some of those you wouldn't have given a chance to have developed.

Grujic being a prime example.



As you're in 3030's Mahow, any chance you can have a quick check and get back to me on the intake dates for England. The site I used only goes up to 2021. It's a shame I'm only using my own youth as some of the prospects with this 200 youth rating thing are mental.

That could prove problematic. I seem to get wingers, goalkeepers or full backs.

Other than those already on the books at the start, I would say this geezer has been the best midfielder we've had and he's struggling to get a look in this season.



I found the players I sent on loan for six months in January mostly benefited more than they did featuring for our U23's, I figured the facilities and coaching we have would have made a bigger difference as I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I should probably look to change tactic but it's working well despite meaning wingers aren't high on my list.

Hunter is worse. I'm sure he's a bit...inbred.

That's the downside to starting with a big club, I guess.

If I understood how to get 5 star coaches better then my youth will improve more, right? I've never been able to fill get them all to 5 stars.

How much are you enjoying Colidio, Giggles? Why so few starts?

I've just hit January after a month long slog. Nine matches in five different competitions, four different countires with one being Egypt for the Club World Cup. Not so bad except I have a squad of 24. two of whom were injured throughout. In that run we knocked Fulham out the EFL, beat LA Galaxy and Gremio in the nonsense cup, victory over Shahkter ensured top spot in the Champions League. Final four teams drawn for the knock out was ourselves, Dortmund, Man United and Basel. I'll let you guys guess who got who.

We actually have Man United next, traiing them by eight points and ten behind league leaders City althrough we have three games in hand. Touch and go but again I think top four is going to be a good result. Media have predicted 6th.

Look at the state of that.

Youth intake arrived and I got well excited.



But no. Not mine.

Season Summary

I knew we would be fine without Sturridge and Mane given the performances from Origi and Harker last season and I would be proved correct as both hit 59 between them.

I caved in with Divock and gave him the deal he requested.



Harker continues to develop well enough and is only 12-18 months of hitting his stride I imagine.



No England call up as of yet but he will I'm sure. Perhaps it's my own fault for having him as a target man. One who has managed the feat albeit without starting is our number one, Luke Hunter. Alongside his partners in crime Joe Gomez and Andre Wisdom who have both joined him.



This season is probably the best we've had for blooding in youngsters and most the biggest earners are gone now.



I tried finding an earlier version of Woodburn but I can't without loading up an earlier save but midwrite up that can't happen. I will confirm shortly but I'm sure he's improved in the star compartment. I was borderline writing him off only 18 months ago.



Moving on though.

Man United once again won the Premier League but our position in third was a comfortable one. We barely challenged for the title although I reckon we would have been if we didn't have that nonsense cup in December.



Domestic cups were a bit of a let down this season.



Painful. Oscar equalised in stoppage time before De Sciglio grabbed the winner in ET.

One of the "four" countries we visited in in the month long run of bollocks fixtures.



Disappointing.

The other nonsense cups were annoying as were the results in the season openers.



But none more disappointing than our final game of the season.



It would be a repeat of last seasons final. Manchester City should have been worried given we'd had their number on a few occasions.

But no.



Frustrating overall but the small positives are obviously the increased number of youngsters playing first team football.

I have a few more I'm hoping to give a chance for the upcoming season.

Liverpool - Season 2020/2021

Arguably our toughest campaign to date and required a tactical change things got to bad. Thankfully the switch paid dividends but I don't know how much longer we can keep this up for.



Origi found himself with a new strike partner for much of the season but once again ended it as our top goalscorer. He's more than a 1 in 2 striker with 125 in 257. I bowed down and gave him the bumper deal though.



His partner in crime was the ever improving Ben Woodburn who completed a career best and gained an England cap in the process.



Woodburns form has seen Wes Harker dropped to the bench and he really struggled this season. He's classed as a wonderkid and gained a cap for England in the European Championships but the emergence of Pilkington means he's got to take a step forward. I might only get around this by selling Origi.



Our start to the season got off to an absolute nightmare.





But the fightback was to be admired given the age and inexperience of those in the squad.

Tottenham to their credit were dominant throughout.



We found this out in the EFL Cup.



In the FA Cup we were eliminated by the worst team possible.



They beat us in the Premier League too. Rooted to the bottom of the table, of course they were going to win 1-0 at Anfield.

I'm hoping to get a bit more out the Bishop next season as he's in danger of not living up to his potential. We're blessed in the attacking department which doesn't help his cause.

Liverpool - Season 2021/2022

We're getting close but I think we only finished 2nd due to our matches against those in and around us however we still dropped far too many points and again it had to be those ugly bastards who finished above us.



Away from the league and we finally secured the only cup that has eluded us this far. The EFL.



Everton semi was a heartbreaker I'm sure. Oomf!

Our domestic cup success went some way to avenging the Chelsea defeat in the FA Cup.



PSG can get fucked though. Poor form.



I'm hopeful we're on course for a good season next year as the past two have seen numerous first teamers improved. Karious and Winjaldum both left meaning Origi and Sakho are the sole survivors now since I'm not including the likes of AA, Woodburn and indeed Klopps own Marko Grujic since all developed under me and not him.

I'll upload the starting eleven when we get to the seasons big kick off.

Financially the wage bill is still at £1.1M, I'm struggling to alter that at the moment as it means ridding ourselves of Origi and we're another season or two away from doing that sensibly.

£900M in the balance and we're just £200M short of both Arsenal and Man United in our quest to become the richest, most valuable club in the world. Phwarr.

However, that's going to change and then some....

An increase in 18,000 odd.

The summer has seen Mamadou Sakho, Andre Wisdom and Divock Origi all leave. Andre wanted £250K but that wasn't happening.

Commited wage bill spend....£733K. Cracked it!

Here's a rundown of the squad for the upcoming campaign. It's coming to an end regardless as when we move into the new stadium I'm opening the cheque book and dominating. I like to think I've proved I'm able to look after financies if I just don't buy anyone.

Liverpool - Season 2022/2023

I thought our second placed finish last season suggested we're close to "coming of age" but as it turns out I couldn't have been any further from the truth as we slumped to an almighty low under my reign.



Manchester City winning the FA Cup is actually the only reason we're in Europe for the upcoming campaign and even that's the Europa. Poor form.

The departure of Andre Wisdom and Mamadou Sakho were costly as both alongside Gomez were our best defenders but it was going forward where our true problems lay. Defensively we conceded just 30 league goals, the third best in the league despite our poor position. Sixty league goals just wasn't good enough however.

Our poor league effort wasn't limited to just the division.



We lost our EFL honor against a dominant Man United.

The FA Cup faired even more unforgiving.



Away from the domestic disappointment, Europe ensured it was an unforgiving season.

Our new stadium plans have been complete and we shall be moving into our new home June 21st 2026. The YDWAWK experiment has failed however and the clubs purse strings are about to be open in a bid to give Anfield a perfect send off and ensure our new era is one of trophy filled dominance.

There's a lack of quality centre backs in England.

The further along I get into this current season (approaching the final stretch now!) the more I realise I wasted £70M on Dele Alli. I thought he'd lift those around him but I should have just stuck with Allan, really.

What a joker.

Pilkington on the other hand is definitely going to be a beaut now he's getting the first team football.

I don't really have a choice as I'll make a huge loss on him. I only signed him because he's the best English player available according to the 'top players' screen.



If only we kept Clyne and Hendo.

On the flip side, the youth is clearly doing well. We signed Haydon but the other two are home grown.

I've learned through twelve months of Dele Alli that it's clearly not based on quality. He's out for 7 weeks now too. FML.

He's got next season and that's that as far as I'm concerned. I've just seen the name for our new stadium...



Dalglish Stadium.

We move there in 2026 which gives me the rest of this season and next to build a title winning side so we leave Anfield in style.

Liverpool - Season 2023/2024

Summary

£185M spent in the summer meant we failed the FFP for the first time in a long time and as a result were fined £5M or so but when you've brought in English players you're always going to be paying a premium. Thankfully those brought in improved us in various ways although I expected more for the outlay.

Dele Alli took an age to get going but posted up some fairly respectable numbers in the end. Robert Witham overtook our youngster Huw Sanna at left back which was a bigger battle than I anticipated. Neither entirely deserved to sit out. He filled in well on the opposite side too when Gomez got struck down.

Nav Dhanjal was a minor disappointment but not a complete write off alongside fellow newbie Reece Oxford. James Hayden completed the summer activity and he was arguably the best of the bunch.

Chelsea were clear of us by 14 points or so in December IIRC but we chipped away repeatedly until they dropped vital points against Burnley (0-0) a few games towards the end of the season. Our one and only opportunity to leapfrog them despite our own run of form. We beat Tottenham 3-0 at Anfield to secure 4th. Spurs hopes of stopping Champions League football returning to Merseyside suffering a first leg blow. I say that because we would face off three days later in the Europa League final too.





A huge improvement on last seasons shoddy finish.



Our hopes of domestic cup success was dealt an early blow in the EFL.



But by the seasons end we had rectified that somewhat claiming our second honour of the campaign.

Alls forgiven Dele Alli?



As it was the second I gave away the Europa result but we were more than worthy victors.

Such a bullshit competition when viewed like the picture.



So the 2024/2025 campaign should see another round of spending but I'm not too sure it's going to be homegrown given I want that league title so we move to the 'Dalglish Stadium' ready to dominate the world.



England have called up Luke Hunter, Joe Gomez, Reece Oxford, Trent, James Hayden, Dele Alli, Ben Woodburn and....Gavin Pilkington for the Euro's. Filthy.

I've literally just jizzed myself.

Man United are away to Arsenal on the final day so barring a catastrophe. Quite romantic and we're far from done this season.

I have high hopes for that window as most of them are young and impressive enough. I'm hoping that the big buys become few and far between in the future seasons.

I've had some right cracking saves tbh. When I log into the image site I use there's a stream of reminders but as far as newgens go this is my best save so far. I wish I had loaded more countries but it doesn't seem to have affected too much. I want to see what I can do with Pilkington and Hunter too. I think both have potential to be record breakers at the club.

Long term aims now are relatively simple. Overtake Man United's 24 league titles (we're on 22) as well as FA Cup , overtake Real Madrid in Europe, it's currently 12 v 8 to them and honours, we're six behind whiilst hoping to further extend our record in the EFL cup. Along the way I'm hoping we can beat a few of our preset records most notably most wins in a season which stands at 30 (1978/79) and I don't think it's too far fetched to expect to beat the 11-0 win over Stromsgodset at some point too.



He's definitely on course to beat Roger Hunt. 143 in 228 thus far but that's just league goals. Overall he's at 230 in 341 games.

It's amazing what money can do for ones appearance.
