I think this test is gone but hopefully they can make it uncomfortable for a bit. Inspired captaincy as usual from Stokes on the field changes.

We are legit playing amazing cricket with the players we have. Man for man this lot and Aus both shit on us.
Shades of the 2022 home Test where India fucked around in third innings when they should have buried it leaving a near impossible rather than impossible chase.
What is the score at stumps that will lead me to set that 3:55am alarm? They are gonna tease me with a 65/2
They’ve roped me in the fuckers
I’ll stay in bed, I’m a bit of a jinx with these things.
I committed to watching every ball of an away Ashes one time. We lost 5-0.
Good catch from the keeper but could really have done without giving that one up. 399 almost certainly wont be got, but no harm in giving it our best bazball.
Even looking like it would be a result.
Anderson's match figures of 5/76 from 35 overs are pretty mental for a 41 year old seamer.
This is absolutely on until I wake up and see it isn't, or instigate a collapse by tuning in if it is.
Ahmed/Crawley to put on a 50 run partnership before Root and Bairstow come in and leave after 15 mins of doing nothing. The match rests on whether or not Pope and Stokes fancy it again
Gifting wickets to Ashwin
Hahahaha they are having a laugh with that ball tracking
Root’s innings was truly bizarre.
Can’t get over that Crawley lbw - just doesn't look right at all.
Yeah, par for the course in India though.
Rohit’s catch to get Pope out was lovely
On a couple of viewings I think I'm ok with the DRS. Looks like it's going to hit right hand side of leg stump and that's what the tracking says. Like Marais I'd have given it not out though.
I can't see how DRS would return "hitting" rather than "umpire's call". You can see the leg stump on impact for starters.
India at home are hilarious though, demanding a review of the review on that Hartley appeal.
Thats what got me you can see the whole of leg stump it just seemed weird.
Truly Bazpilled now as I am taking the positives big time - making 300 4th innings is a great effort. Difference between the two sides is an otherworldly spell from Bumrah on the second day. Still in this series big time.
I've barely seen any of this as it's on TNT, what's up with Root? Does he keep getting good ones or is he just not got much form right now?
The latter. Think Bazball in general has done his head in when really he just needs to carry on batting like he does.
Think he's also had his head turned for a while now by the money that others are earning in T20. Started trying to bowl leg spin and all sorts of shit with an eye on that luchre.
He literally tried to hit every ball to the boundary in his short stay, was beyond being positive it was odd he was all over the place.
Definitely a mental issue with Root. Whether it's cricket or personal life related I don't know, but it's blindingly obvious just looking at him.
That's a great effort given the circumstances. Even with the toss lost, a better first innings and that's down to the wire.
Even if that LBW shout on Gill early doors went the other way or we took the other chance, we win. Bairstow even redeemed himself by telling Trashwin to fuck off. Can't grumble really.
She the ones. We the twos.
33/3 to to 214/3. Nice
Jadeja is a menace.
He's better than the rest of their team combined. He might be the best player of all time. I don't know anymore.
Why do South Africa have a complete B squad in New Zealand for the Test series? Looks like they’re going to win as well.
Because they made the A squad play in the biltong bash or whatever it's called.
Hurray a wicket.
Jadeja's hundred should be chalked off as his selfish obsession with it denied Sarfaraz one of his own.
Big fan of this guy doing BBC text commentary.Ben Duckett shouts "no run" like Marnus Labuschagne after one prod.
Someone have a word.
Trashwin getting done for encroachment while batting has given me a proper warm glow. It's my special pet thing as an umpire and it's been breached by my special hate figure who I still don't rate as a cricketer despite him clearly being one of the best spinners of all time.
These two are great and you can always count on them for a fast start but I hope they really pile it on today.
More dodgy ball tracking.
They might be worse than the last series
A big gripe I have with ball tracking is how they interpret the ball flight after impact. It seems to flatten out noticeably as it approaches the stumps. If it's a moon ball bowler in the local Sunday league then fair enough, but that doesn't happen with the likes of Siraj.
Ashwin pulls out of the rest of the match…
They are all gonna try and asterisk the fuck out of this series IF we win it aren’t they? Still a tall order to force a win on this deck let alone win another.
Yeah, it will have to be 4-1 now to get the hivemind to acknowledge a series win, even though we have won away to them far more recently than the reverse.
What is going on with all of these off field issues? Are players/people just soft as shit these days or is it just a series of unfortunate and unlikely events?
Get your funerals out the way before the IPL starts
You can imagine some old story from the 1980s in which Allan Border is told at a drinks break that his kids have been killed and eaten by dingos, he snarls, bats on for the rest of the day in searing heat for 218* off 703 balls and then tells the media 'I didn't like the little buggers anyway'. Slightly different these days.
Bairstow and Root. They’re so fucking average. That Pope LBW is going to be massive
Root’s shot selection was hilarious and Bairstow having the audacity to review might have been worse. Fat cunt

Old Root would have batted all day with a cigar on this pitch. Oh well.
Proper bazball dismissal for Duckett there. Lower end batting has been alright this tour and will need to be again. Really need 390+ here
