I wonder if any engines will melt in this heat.
I wonder if any engines will melt in this heat.
The pace of Lewis showing the start didn't really matter too much. Seems to be an smidge slower than the McLarens on race pace. All of which are slower than Max anyway.
This has been seriously dull so far.
Piastri has been ridiculously slow since the 1st stop
If only Hamilton had an extra lap, he'd knock Perez out of the podium.
He's been flying for a good few laps.
Merc always look better at the end of races. No idea why they waited so long to pit him
They seem to have got their car into the window of pretty competitive at most tracks over a lap(Spa is going to be so lol in the Red Bulls favour), but the race pace is still a good 0.5s a lap off.
What's interesting is there was talk of a big upgrade package at Silverstone, but all they got was a front wing. No noises about anything since.
The heat ruined that race more than anything. This year’s rule changes have brought back dirty air so unless there was an obvious overtake available, everyone just spaced themselves 2 seconds apart.
The only way you'll get cars able to follow each other would be if you made it into a spec series in which the cars have identical docile rear ends, and then it wouldn't be F1.
Volvo 850s for everyone and I'll watch every race. I'll even watch the Netflix show.
They did that once in the 80s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_N...e_of_Champions, ft. Alain Prost losing to a long-retired Stirling Moss because he was having a massive French sulk.
We need Kimi to come back and beat Verstappen.
The very clever people who design these things have found a way to start getting around the rules to produce downforce as they always will. It's also a consequence of Mercedes having the cards 15mm further off the ground this year. You need more downforce to push them back down.
Bit less tedious then some of the races this season, plenty of fun to be had at the expense of Ferrari and Lolpine (hows that five year plan going lads, adding a couple more years are we). Ricciardo on the pace of Tsunoda right from the off which bodes badly for the little chap from Kanagawa whichever way you slice it. Currently catching up on the main feeder races to see if any of the huge slew of Red Bull liveries should feel slighted at being overlooked.
To be fair to Alpine this week it's hardly the engineering departments fault that Zhou drives into the back of Ricciardo.
I'm not sure what's funnier out of the French superteam having 47 points, or Ferrari having gone into a complete reverse ferret.
Macca are 80 points behind them but on current form I wouldn't say a heist for 4th is impossible, they've outscored them by 45 in the last two races, with all cars finishing.
They've made 45 points on them in just two races. Obviously you don't expect them to be that far ahead all the time, but with 11 races left it's not that long a shot. You'd say that even 3rd might be up for grabs with Aston Martin's recent form.
For fuck sake. Verstappen has a 5 place grid penalty. Another Grand Prix of getting my hopes up when Norris takes pole
5 places is nothing given the distance between him and the rest of the field.
At least he might have to push for 20 laps rather than manage tyres for the duration.
Mclaren is shit hot in the wet too.
It’s on.
Here we fucking go.
I see they've gone with the big rear wing to be good in sector 2, so it'll also suit them if it's wet.
Alpine getting rid of Alan Permane at this juncture confirms they don't have the first clue what they are doing.
Not French enough. Bring back Cyril.
@WaffdonThe grid for the Belgian Grand Prix will be set in championship order if wet weather makes it impossible to run qualifying on Friday.
What a shambles. Take advantage of your shitty sprint format in cases like this you massive weapons
They should race in all weathers. If it's wet, drive slower. If you don't like the conditions, withdraw. Niki Lauda did. If no one finishes, so be it.
You bastard. Thought Verstappen was gone there
Yeah he was very lucky there.
Scolding from Max's engineer there.
I get he's a perfectionist, but mate come on. Pick your battles.
Starting to think Piastri is a WDC in the making.
Oscar Pastry is definitely starting to shine now he's used to the car.
Not that Gasly or Ocon are bad drivers, but they're starting to look daft for letting him go.
Well, that was slightly disappointing. Mclaren do look mega in that 2nd sector though.
Verstappen is just so far clean it’s hilarious. Nearly 1 second ahead lol
Strulovich
Aston Martin fucked hard.
Ladies and gentlemen, Lance Strulovitch.
He slipped earlier on some steps at the track too
Verstappen is just there to let us down time and time again.
Qualifying in general though has been pretty shit hot this last month. Less said about the races the better
If you took him out this would be one of the greatest seasons for a long time.
He's got the best car perfectly suited to him. The lol thing is to compare him to his teammate.
Mexican Mark Webber is being humiliated.
Piastri is such a beast.
Delayed start due to rain.
Fuck the FIA.
Just drive the cars in the rain for fucks sake.
The deaths here recently have been caused by cars hitting the barrier and being spat back into full speed traffic.
