Yeah, did you see it?
Yeah, did you see it?
3 looks like somewhere the Romans have been, but no clue beyond that.
2 could be anywhere from Belarus to Belgrade to Mongolia. It's been quite the day for non-descript post-Soviet shitholes.
Post-Soviet shithole is what Round 2 strives to be.
Has anyone actually said Russia? Let's give it a go. Russia.
No but you're getting closer. I don't know how well known this place is. They want to be Russia and their biggest football team pulled off a massive upset in the Champions League a couple of years ago.
Moldova.

Based purely on their shenanigans with Armenia, I'm going to say Azerbaijan.
I’m pretty sure I’ve had that exact same round on GG for #3 on the famous landmarks round
Waff is right. The flag you see is Transnistria. But if you wanted to go all UN then the correct answer is Moldova.
Only R3 left to go.
#3 had me thinking South America at first, but the little morose apartment blocks peeking up over the foreground buildings have me thinking Muslim. A Muslim country that tried to build up some European-looking buildings at one time or another. Casablanca?
It's not Casablanca. They're actually not Muslim at all.
A clue: in all other rounds guessed correctly so far, there's been a flag in the picture to help.
I was going to say Split or some other ancient Balkan location. Know nothing about such places.
I can't even take a stab at it. Looks European but can't really place it. Bucharest.
Yerevan? Or at least, somewhere Armenian.
Edit: Republic Square in Yerevan to be exact.
Oh yeah, flag right in the corner.
I got incredibly good at geoguessr at one point, but then they changed it so that you had to commit to doing it all the time and I couldn't be arsed. There used to be (might still be) a football stadia round which I was ludicrously good at.
There we go.
The ones I enjoyed the most were when they pitched you into a nondescript forest/plains in the middle of fucking nowhere and you had to scan along for miles trying to find any sort of tiny clue. Proper brain therapy.
Having a go now and all the old tricks are coming back - look for web addresses on vans, look at bins because they often have the local council's name on. Love it.

Aye, I backtrack to the nearest road sign and then decide where that place name/language is.
Russia is the best for that. But then also the worst because you can be proud that you figured out it was the Far East from trees and Japanese import cars but then still be 1,000 miles away.
I've remembered my password so I'm currently trying to decipher street names on mailboxes. The good thing about being dumped in a residential area is there is always estate agent signs up. Even with all that, I'm six miles out.
I went the pub once at my mate cracked out geoguesser. All but me and one other lad got well involved. I just don’t see the appeal.
I'm a twit
ADW is horrible with a 3 min time limit. I obviously went the wrong way in R1 because I couldn't locate a town name and R3 was just nasty.
I missed one because it took 3 minutes to locate any signage.
It is. Just ADW presents the opportunity for a regular howler which the other popular maps usually don't.
Pretty pleased with that, over 20k. Last one was especially satisfying, even if I didn't actually find the exact spot.

Can we go back to doing it in the thread? Otherwise, take it to the Worldle thread (RIP).
Speaking of GeoGuessr, the new UI they've rolled out today is fucking dreadful. It's been shit for a good year or so now anyway but this has kicked it into overdrive.
