Did it all get a bit “I can’t believe a team dared to beat Man City!” In the end?

You should see when Liverpool play if you think that was bad.
Real Madrid's is a classic 'name on the trophy' run. Liverpool should be about 40/1 for the final.
This all started when I sat outside a budget hotel in Madrid last October and listened to four Spanish men on the next table rant to each other about how Premier League money was ruining football and Real Madrid should always be the best by right.
I went to bed at 1-0 so that's a pleasant surprise. It is all set up for Liverpool to win it all now and Guardiola to take hostages. Those Grealish chances near the end (the block and the save) turned out huge.
Benzema is by far one of my favourite players ever. Top quality old school centre forward.
Getting mugged off by Sheriff in the group stage then memeing their way past all the big hitters whilst being thoroughly dominated is absolutely brilliant. Liverpool can get fucked thinking they're going to ruin this.
Just seen the goal times on livescore there. Fucking hell they must have fell asleep altogether.
What a night. You live for this shit and the morning after radio commentary re-runs
Camavinga is the second-coming of christ/Pogba. Rodrygo is a bum. What a night it's going to be come 28 May.
I don’t wanna blow my own trumpet too much but
I'm a twit
Some special effort by the mentality midgets to lose that last night going off the highlights.
Why did they take De Bruyne off? Is he still not fully fit or something?
Whilst it wouldn't have counted I quite liked Real's second half rush restart that 'Vini Jr' missed.
I’m not sure it was offside. Certainly didn’t look it on the one angle
I thought Carvajal looked offside when the ball was played to him, but there wasn't much in the way of a replay so maybe not.
Giggles will be doing his nut with all this false writing off of Liverpool's chances. They'll probably bum Real out of existence. Salah certainly seems up for making it some sort of grudge match.
Although maybe that was said last time round, I dunno.
Think their route to the final in 2018 might have been even more unlikely/lucky. Bayern's 'keeper going mental rings a bell in the semi [and obviously Liverpool's in the final].
I love the Champions League (in Patrice Evra voice).
Sort of would prefer Man City to win it before Pep leaves because I find it silly how some still try and portray him as a failure.
But Real Madrid being Real Madrid amazingly doesn’t seem to get old. Some great stats from Dermot Corrigan / The Athletic:-

I love how the media do an about face after a result like that and go from fawning over Guardiola to WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?
Caught a bit of Sky Sports yesterday where Dr Bruyne was being interviewed and they were desperately wanting him to give Guardiola sole credit for his success and he's like "Well the players also work really hard so maybe I would be successful with another manager as well" and the response was to ignore that and ask what aspect of his game.he most credits Guardiola for. Cringeworthy stuff.
Madrid look like they’ll be set for a good while with some of the players they have. I’d worry about Ruidger alongside Militoa (sp?) next season though. Both batshit mental
Did Thiago ever get a champions league medal at Barcelona? If he did a Liverpool win would put him up there with Seedorf in terms of winning it with three different clubs. Has anyone equaled/bettered that?
Seems he did in 10/11.
Seedorf with 3 clubs
Chris Ronaldo, Kroos, PK, Eto'o, Redondo, Rijkaard, Kovacic, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Thiagos Alcantara and Motta, Xabi Alonso, Deco, Bosingwa, Paulo Ferreira, Hargreaves, Paulo Sousa, van der Sar, Panucci, Desailly, Deschamps, Jugovic, Savicevic, Koeman, Malatrasi, Belodedici with 2 clubs (props to the latter for somehow having done it with Steaua and Red Star)
Darren Potter, Stephen Warnock, Chris Eagles with 1 club
Baldest of frauds.
That is pretty damming. It's alright not to win it every year, but chucking away decent positions in the flash of an eye repeatedly is not ok.
92 minutes in total there and 20 goals conceded.
They definitely have a collapse in them. I remember that flurry of Liverpool goals in early 2018, culminating with that Salah chip over Ederson from 40 yards.
At the same I find the revisionism after this kind of thing a little grating. City dominated for 90 minutes and should have scored multiple other chances (across both legs), Madrid hadn’t had a shot on goal until Rodrygo scored. And then absolute madness happens; but afterwards every pundit speaks as though it were somehow inevitable and Real Madrid were always looking like pulling it off. They weren’t at all, which makes it so much better.
Every pundit? I didn't see any of the BT Sport ones saying that. McManaman was still in shock as the Kia adverts rolled.
Madrid did have quite a few chances in the game. They just made a mess of it each time until the flurry of goals. Liverpool were never losing to City and their 10k fans in the stadium. Madrid should be able to make a game of it. Hopefully they stop playing Kroos who is utterly pointless and dreadful.
I missed Gateshead being crowned Champions on Monday. Could break 100 goals for the league season.
Feyenoord fans haven’t half battered some of them Marseille casuals. The videos on Twitter make them looked either proper knocked out or dead.
Scott Wright starting a European Semi Final is some laugh. He’s fucking awful
Has there ever been a European semi where both teams have as few as 23 years under their belt?
For fuck sake. Liverpool and Rangers double is enough to end the world
Nkunku
I hope Klopp doesn’t get his hands on him
What on earth is with all these fucking goalkeepers
Imagine the violence at a Rangers v Liverpool Supercup.
Jose Mourinho in another final as well.
Chris Smalling looked foot perfect across both legs. Get him on the plane.
Fwonkfort vs Bronckhorst. What a final.
The Kiko derby.
Roma vs Feyenoord in Albanian heartlands is what we're all here for.
Lovely to see them integrating.
He’ll get death threats for the flag beside his name.
Wouldn't be surprised if Salah coasts the final and signs for Madrid afterwards.
That Frankfurt stadium looked like somewhere I'd want to be. I've been to a few games in Germany (St. Pauli, Dortmund, Cologne) but that was on another level last night.
Swansea City are looking for new owners if anyone has $5.20 lying around.
God I'd love to own a football club. Not a non-league one though as they're full of wankers. It'll have to wait for the millions earned by Mellin shorting the collapse of western civilisation.
It's a great stadium and they're going to add another 11k seats. The middle screen hovering over the pitch reminds me of something in the NHL.
The walk to the stadium is cool as well. Basically walking through some forest road with loads of places to buy beer and food for next to nothing.
Arsenal extend Arteta to 2025.
So pointless.
How was St. Pauli?
What do you make of the different style of atmosphere in German games? A friend has been a few times and was struck by the constant unwavering singing and lack of reactions to goals. English atmospheres maybe more rollercoasterish.
