This TIPA is pretty nice. Has a bit of the burn but just an edge and the fruit and hops are the stronger flavours. Good stuff.

Back to Irish made today but yet another Belgian
I gave: https://www.wildbeerco.com/item/789/...ls-Grills.html
I got: https://brewyork.co.uk/product/dream...0pastry%20sour.
As discussed the other day the smoked one wouldn't be for me but he really likes them so fingers crossed I've hit the mark.
The sour he gave me is very nice. Bit of cinnamon in there which is a nice twist.
Day 13:

Probably one of the best “session” beers I’ve had.
I'm a twit
I think I got that in the calendar last year and thought it was fine but even for a session not anything special.
Today feels like a day me and my brother in law were both getting the average spend back down a little.
I gave: https://www.cigarcitybrewing.com/beer/frost-proof/
I got: https://www.stewartbrewing.co.uk/products/night-falling
Wildbeer Yokai. Not too bad, especially as I think it has fruit in it.
Wide St Neo Noir black IPA. Was expecting something a bit more different seeing as they're known for the wild and mixed fermentation, but it's as nice a black IPA as I've tasted.
I gave: https://shop.raynvillesuperstore.co....pa-5-440ml-can
I got: https://www.fiercebeer.com/item/367/...mel-Moose.html
It's very drinkable. It's not that rich which is no surprise for the strength but it's tasty all the same.
I wish I had an Ian calendar.

I llke it, but it's no Christmas Pudding Red IPA.
I'm a twit
Yeah the one I gave I bought for myself too and it's pretty interesting. Was missing maybe a bit if body but it's a tasty thing all the same.
Mikeller Hallo Ich Bin raspberry berliner. Not often I would do fruit in a beer, but then again I never really count these as beer so it’s a pleasant enough drink.
I gave: https://www.vocationbrewery.com/prod...ada-sour-440ml
I got: https://coldtownbeer.com/product/chocolate-cake-stout/
I haven't had anything by Cold Town before. There's a pub in town which does their stuff but only a pale and the lager and whenever I've been in they've had more interesting stuff on.
This is decent though. Not amazing but for a sub-5%er it's pretty solid.
I just cannot put away the beer anymore. Red wine was always about my 10th favourite drink but it's my default go-to now for being just about the least likely thing to give me manky hangovers.
Red wine doesn't give you hangovers? It's pretty much the worst for me.
Wicklow Wolf Apex oatmeal stout today. I regularly drink it and I’m still glad to see it because it’s so fucking good. Got the recipe from the brewery for it recently too so I need to attempt it.
I gave: https://pressuredropbrewing.co.uk/pr...al-brown-stout
I got: https://mobile.twitter.com/drygate/s...59091809603585
The Cast Iron Billy is superb, was delighted it was so good to put in his calendar when I took the punt on just buying two while I could get them
The chocolate orange Orinoco is pretty much what you'd expect but it's pretty tasty.
I gave: https://www.oskarblues.com/beer/can-o-bliss-resinous/
I got: https://www.fremontbrewing.com/head-...f-dynomite-v30
It's pretty nice. I suppose I must've had something with Enigma hops in before but I don't remember. They seem to give a bit of a raspberry flavour which is nice. Oats in there too to smooth it out which I'm a big fan of in a pale these days.
Got a bottle of Efes Draft from Home Bargain of all places.
Also day 17 finally delivered the salted pecan caramel stout thingy.
I'm a twit
Was that the Velvet Cake? And if so how is it?
Roaster Coaster remains a belter of a beer. Nitros are good anyway but this is just the tastiest thing.
I've got the Christmas beer sorted. Crate of bitburger, veltins and helles püllekin. It could be the equivalent of fosters, Carling and Tennants but still, it sounds great.
I got myself a big tray of O’Hara’s Irish stout, the nitro version. Will require very little else.
The calendar had Kinnegar Winterland in it. Hadn’t heard of it before but it’s a vanilla coffee milk stout, so nope.
Uiltje Trackdown today. Small can but lovely beer.
I gave: https://nordbottleshop.co.uk/collect...ersleuteltroks
I got: https://brewver.com/beers/323214/Liquorice-Vanilla-Cake
This unfortunately a bit heavy on the liquorice for my taste which is a shame because it's a big rich boozy thing which is otherwise very much my cup of tea.
Petrus cherry chocolate quad.
I’m at the stage of serious buyers remorse now.
Beak Oopla Imperial Stout, been knocking about in the fridge since last Christmas, not sure why I've not tried it sooner, it's decent. Think I feared peaty/smokiness but that was misplaced. Not too much sweet or anything, just seems a fairly classic and good example [not that I'm an aficionado of them or anything].
Got some DEYAs on order and a few Christmas things from Vocation to tide me over until the big day.

Sounds awesome.

Today I gave: https://www.sintbernardus.be/en/brew...dus-extra-4-en
I got: https://brewyork.co.uk/product/fairytale-of-brew-york/
I actually had one of these already as I bought one for myself. It's alright but nothing special. Also the first one we've both bought for each other which isn't bad going given I assume he also ordered a bunch from TM.
Hopburgh Helles today. Quality.
I gave: https://www.tempestbrewco.com/item/3...330ml-can.html
I got: https://www.fiercebeer.com/item/352/Have-A-Break.html
I've had Have a Break before but the original version was definitely better. This is still nice though.
I gave: https://www.vocationbrewery.com/prod...-5-9-ipa-440ml
I got: https://untappd.com/b/stewart-brewin...4557463/photos
This is alright. Starts better than it finishes which is a shame but it's not bad.
Getting to the business end of this now.
I gave: https://www.kwoff.co.uk/products/clo...-baltic-porter
I got: https://www.eebriatrade.com/products...08-glory-glory
It's a while since I've had a saison and the peppercorns makes this interesting. It's got quite a lot of sour funkiness in it. Definitely wouldn't be to everybody's taste and I wouldn't want more than one but it's decent.
Already finished the laprhoiag my mate gave me Sunday to thank me for cat babysitting , probably need to follow @Boydy's advice after Christmas.
That's .... enthusiasm. I've got 10 bottles of Peroni left. I thought about grabbing whisky but I'm just not feeling it. Getting drunk on whisky is a lovely feeling. Waking up in whisky sweats and a stonking headache is not. Maybe I'll break the hiatus on New Year.
Yeah, it's not a question of pacing yourself but rather quitting in advance.
I gave: https://brewcavern.co.uk/product/i-d...for-a-monster/
I got: https://toolbeer.dk/products/santa-g...pr_seq=uniform
The one I have is one of my favourites if the year. The one I've got is really good too. Very tasty and at 4% I could happily spend the afternoon on this.
Fucksake.
Make me one next year.

I've been drinking Guinness though so saving that for a double-whammy tomorrow. I wonder what Christmas Eve will bring? Punk AF?
I'm a twit
My sister brought be a selection she picked up yesterday with 2 brewdogs in it. Haven’t tried punk in years.
