What is an acceptable amount for United to spend and not finish in the top four?
Fifty pounds.
Real Madrid lost 2-0 at home to Betis. Bale was an unused sub.
Zidane said ”He (Bale) has won a lot here but we live for the present and the future. We will not forget the past but we have to live for the day today.
”I have counted on other players in more in recent weeks, and if I had a fourth substitute today I would not have brought him on.”
Ether
United should offer Madrid zero pounds to get him off their wage bill (and then offer him less than his current salary because it is lol).
Doesn't Bale pick-up almost double what Sanchez gets? I know it's distorted by the way they deal with image rights (but then probably re-distorted by the optional nature of tax in Spain), but if they reckon they're getting him off their wage bill without some sort of massive pay-off then they're surely dreaming. Hasn't he got a contract until sometime into the next decade to boot?
Yeah, he has them over a barrel. You could see Madrid paying some of his contract up to shift him, like United are reported to be considering with 'Alexis', and then somebody could pick him up on a more realistic (arf) wage. I would have him if the price was right.
Has he even been that good for Madrid?
I mean he's scored 2 Champions League final winners.
He's basally been a slightly better or slightly worse McManaman.
He's been good. He just hasn't been Ronaldo, and by the sounds of it is a retard who nobody there likes.
Looks like he has done what is required. He isnt Ronaldo though. Real and Barca exspect a lot. Barca though Cesc was equal to Messi and was the only player other than Messi they tried to convert to false 9.
Bale is 30 before the start of thr season. May as well try and cash him into some gullible team who are willing to take a gamble.
He’s been alright but the Spaniards don’t like the British
Rather a Brit than an Irishman tbf
Being there for 5 years and still not being able to speak Spanish is a bit embarassing tbf.
Aguero's been here for that long or longer and doesn't begin to speak English. Thickos are thickos the world over.
Gareth Bale would be a terrible signing for Utd.
He would be solid for three years on Paulp Ogba money. Then he can replace Ashley Young at full-back.
Bale's been great for Real over the years, but the club is now rotten to the core and Zidane hates him for some reason.
Wasnt it Zidane that recommended him in? Zidane was ball gobbling Bale when he was in a Spurs shirt scoring hat-tricks at San Siro.
Seems like Bale is the scapegoat for some reason, but he's won the Champions League 4 times, playing a vital role in at least 2/3 of those wins.
Him seemingly wanting nothing to do with anything Spanish doesn't help, but we don't give a fuck about all the South Americans here doing the same so bollocks.
For the most expensive player in the world his performance has been fairly underwhelming for the most part (he's only made 25 appearances per season - ah I think that may just be in the league), but he has made some fairly major contributions in a few of the big games. I think he's done better out of it than they have.
He's 30 by the time the season starts, on about Ł500k a week and can't stay fit for more than 5 minutes at a time. Yes he's really turned up for some big games, but he's also been not very good for large parts of his time in Madrid, particularly in the last season or so.
It would end up looking as bad as the Sanchez transfer.
The only issue would be whether it would have the same effect as 'Alexis' in terms of putting everybody else on greedy cunt notice. But would it be different if he was actually producing the goods? If he was winning games every week and some tosser like Marcus Rashford asked for stupid money 'Because Bareth is on...' you could tell him to fuck off a lot more easily than you currently can when your highest earner is being paid to lounge around shagging his dogs. In isolation, whilst six-hundred grand a week is a bit mental, if you could haggle him down a bit it sounds like decent value in a world where Ander Herrera can walk into a three-hundred grand a week free transfer.
Bale, Pogba and Alexis (and some other poor sap, probably Rashford), with Fred and some other spastic behind in the midfield.
Good luck with that one.
Why is Bale seen as bad now? He's a pretty top player.
I'm a twit
He’s not bad he’s just not worth what he’d cost. Plus he’s always injured.
Fuck knows. There's not many teams he wouldn't go straight into the first team of. It's a shame he went to Madrid really, he's got the silverware from it, and a fucking ridiculous wage, but it's not done his legacy much good.
He was insanely brilliant at Spurs. Better than Kane. Probably better than Modric was too.
On talent he makes pretty much any first XI world over.
However he's going to cost abit, more on top with the wages and add in he's about to be 30. If he comes in and smashes it at said club, he'll still only be good for 3-4 years at most.
Bale played 47 times this season. Not bad for someone injured.
Bale on loan does seem like a decent deal. Little harm done if he’s not worth it and if he is, well, then great.
Except for City and Liverpool, Bale would improve the starting eleven of the other eighteen teams.
And he'd probably be a better backup than Origi, so make that nineteen of the twenty teams would be better for having him.
I try not to worry about prices and wages - I don't pay them, so as long as they're good footballers they're worth every penny.
