I mean, he's not even on the fucking show, just ignore him. I can understand moaning about the product being consistently shit (obviously) but I can't understand getting your panties in a bunch over the fact you don't get to see the shiny belt on a weekly basis.
Don't you think seeing it through the eye of the kind of nutter who posts there is part of what's influenced your feelings on that front though? It's the 1% of the 1% of the 1%, it's like having your opinions on football be informed by people calling in 606. Of course you'd think everyone was shit/in crisis/overpaid.

Nah, you see it in the crowds as well. They turn up to be disappointed, smarky twats.

    The crowds certainly don't help.

My personal issue with Brock is only his absence in a minor way. Because he used to be an absentee champ but turned up and you got a good match. He's fucking good when he can be arsed (or when he's made to be arsed.) Even his stuff on Raw there was pretty decent heel stuff.

How come you haven't tried Indies or NJPW, Browning? Or have you and you weren't keen?

I liked how the episode centred around Brock not wanting to do anything in WWE is the most he's done on an episode in years. I much prefer him reading fishing magazines and threatening everyone in sight over the usual routine of bouncing about in silence while Heyman says something and then fucking off. I'm going with Owens to come away as champ.

I loved how they hoped him asking "Why would I watch the show?" would be an alienating move.

NJPW, ROH, RevPro, PWG, Impact and the Indies in general have such a healthy positive vibe amongst the fans for the most part.

Smarks seem to only exist within the WWE universe.

To Phonic’s point, me quitting altogether is a very recent thing. I don’t got my opinions from these people, the only reason I really read it is because I enjoy the content that the channel puts out, but even that is getting boring now. Basically the only joy I get from WWE these days (except for Ronda, who is amazing) is reading them acting like the apocalypse is happening every time Brock retains, so long may it continue.

As for the indies, I tend to go to Indy shows if Ospreay is on them and they are local. I’ve always enjoyed it, but I struggle to get into the same shows if I watch them online instead of being there. I’m not sure why I’ve not tried NJPW, but it’s probably because I don’t really have the time for it anymore anyway.

If you want to dip your toe in a bit you might enjoy ALL IN next month. It is going to be a modern day Starrcade booked and funded by the Young Bucks and Cody.

Finally got round to watching last week's NXT last night. The main event was brilliantly worked.

Sets it all up nicely for the next takeover and the reaction of the crowd at the end

There is definitely an element of self-satisfaction with some of this though, just as there is with anything when people are confident they're into the better thing.

Of course the variety of wrestling for different tastes makes it easier for people to find something they like whereas I imagine a lot of non-child WWE fans are like me where force of habit is still enough to counter the fact that it's a bit crap at least half the time and only genuinely good maybe 5% of the time just now. I should really be watching NXT properly because I love the Takeovers and given I get through WWE TV shows in about half their running time I have room for some more wrestling in my life.

    Start with last week's.

They started setting up things for Takeover and the main event is seriously quality.

Actually the the week before as the Undisputed Era/Moustache Mountain rematch was great.

Yeah that is fair. The Japanese fans and you British are clearly better than the Americans though.

The NXT commitment is the perfect amount of wrestling.

Just got NJPW and will start with this G1 (thanks for the recommendation, Disco), the collection of everything on the site is pretty damn overwhelming right now.

The site itself is a bit of a clusterfuck, I use an extension called NJPWext which is supposed to improve it a bit. I haven't tried going back into the archives to find anything specific, I can imagine that would be a bit of a trial.

I'm using it on Amazon Fire TV so that isn't an option sadly.

They've won me over with the Japanese intro to the event.

The way the guy says G1 Climax 28

Smackers is in Orlando on Tuesday, considering going as I've done Raw before but never SD.

    Apparently the main events are

a 3 man tag between AJ Styles, Nak, Randy Orton, The Miz, Jeff Hardy, and Samoa Joe or some shit... plus !!!! Asuka v Carmella lmfao

    Can't say i'm fuckin thrilled.

Go and stay for 205 Live which will be better.

    NXT > 205 > Smackdown > RAW.

That's the shows ranked right now.

It's split into Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight divisions (with some crossover in tag matches and occasionally singles) with several titles:

Heavyweight title (Omega) - Top title
Intercontinental title (Jericho) - Second tier title
US title (Juice Robinson) - Only about a year old but has been fairly strongly booked so far.
Never Openweight title (Goto?) - Lower tier title which I think anyone can challenge for.
Junior Heavyweight title (Hiromu) - Top title for the 'juniors'
    Heavyweight Tag titles (Young Bucks)
Junior Heavyweight Tag titles (Desperado & Kanemaru)
6 Man Tag titles (Bucks & Marty Scurll)

For the G1 shows it's split between the A & B blocks, so every night you'll have a few tag matches between people in (for example) A Block, often teasing/setting up angles for matches on the next show. The you'll have some G1 singles matches from the other block, and vice versa the next night. The tags aren't essential viewing but they do contain some story bits and can still be really good (there's a LIJ match early in the G1 which was fantastic).

    I'm watching the tags.

Quite liked Sho & Ishii/Yano & Yoh as well as ZSJ & Michinoku/Ibushi & Takahasi so far.

The Amazon fire app doesn't remember your progress though which is annoying as fuck.

I missed that or it'd have annoyed me too. They have allowed words like "fans" though I think.

I just watched the "Walk With Elias" show and liked it a lot.

He's not good enough in the ring to go all the way but he's good fun and should be a staple of whatever you'd pass for the WWE mid/upper-midcard these days for a good while.

That doesn't really exist, you're either a world champion / Roman Reigns or you're not but you get what I mean.

Just watched last week's NXT and they have a solution for Roman.

Call up Ciampa and get him in a feud with THE ULTIMATE VINCE'S BOY BABYFACE, no one is drawing as much heat as Ciampa is doing so on NXT.

Edit: Also getting some G1 day two tag matches. The Suzuki/Makabe stuff bits in there was fucking brilliant (there was one elbow that Suzuki hit that sounded completely legit too, I can't wait to watch their singles match) but why does he hate the English commentators? Or is it just one of them? Suzuki booting the railings in front of their desk at the end of the match was quality, he's fucking mental.

He is a massive heel in Japan. Suzuki is known to give stiff shots to the young boys as well.

Suzuki Gun only returned from Noah at the start of last year due to being banished for being too violent in kayfabe.

Check out the first show after last years Wrestle Kingdom to see their return and Suzuki's attack on Okada.

Yeah because he's booked properly and his "only" being 6ft isn't a reason to bury him on NXT. On the main roster he'd be losing to Jinder within the month and unforgiveably reunited with Gargano within two .

Well yes but don't bring logic into trying to make Roman 'clearly a natural heel' Reigns the top baby-face.

Battle Grandpa is the wrongest of wrong 'uns, the commentators regularly 'run away' during his entrance and Rocky Romero is nominally a member of Chaos so he might have been going after him. He makes a point of booting a Young Boy every time he comes to the ring so he's fairly even handed with his fuckery.

    Omega/Naito wasn't too shabby either.

Edit: On the other hand, I just finished RAW and the only good thing was the Paul Heyman interview.

Listening to old episodes of MLW podcast….during episode 49, former WWE Writer Court Bauer tells a story about Randy Orton showing his dick to new writers, touching it, and asking them to shake his hand.

Court Bauer on Randy Orton: “For every new writer that would show up, he come in the room put his hand down his pants, pull out his dick, touch himself, then say “I’m Randy Orton, shake my hand…oh you dont want to shake my hand? You’re big leaguing me? That’s fucked up man. Should I tell Vince and Steph you wont shake Randy Ortons hand?”

The writers would all start sweating and backing up into the corner, the guys dick is still hanging out, and he would be there cutting a promo on a guy with his dick hanging out for like five minutes. Court goes on to say Orton was very intense so you could never tell if he was fucking with you or he was really hot.

Court says he was lucky…Randy did it to him on the 1st day he was with the company at tv and just as he was about to pull his dick out, Stephanie walked in, and that shit went right back in his pants. Court describes it as a teacher entering the classroom.

When asked if he would have shaken his hand, Court says “I dont know. I’m a bit of a germaphobe.” Court says this was something Orton did during his [Court’s] entire time at the WWE, and he is surprised Orton didnt get hit with sexual harassment.

    Sounds like something he'd do.
