And there it is.
You have to be fucking kidding.
And there it is.
You have to be fucking kidding.
That’s fucking bullshit
He moved his arm down to the ball, I think it's a penalty.
Griezmann has form, he’ll miss.
Subasic's mind games
He couldn’t see where the ball was through Umtiti. Never a penalty.
Griezmann looks sick.
Its a pen, it stopped the flight of the ball.
I don't see how that's not a penalty, he's moved his hand down to block the ball.
It's in no way a deliberate handball.
Aux armes, citoyens!
He moved both his arm and his leg towards the ball, he clearly reacted to it.
I'm almost supporting France over Mahow here.
Thought it was a pen as well.
Yes it was a penalty.
Fuck the Frogs.
I think it's the kind of call that could go either way and still comply with the rules. Sucks for Croatia though, who have been better.
I don’t think France have been as dull/uninspiring as some in this tournament but Jesus they’ve been poor today. Feel for Croatia.
To be fair to the referee that's an absolutely horrible position to be put in.
I'll be stunned if Croatia don't score from a corner.
France look nervy as fuck when they come in.
I have rarely seen anyone dive and feign injury as much as 'big' Samuel Umtiti in this match, who strikes me as a straight cheat. Any time anyone goes anywhere near him, he hits the deck.
The problem with these handball calls is that the defender gains an advantage from stopping the ball, but it is in no way deliberate. Shouldn't be punishable with a penalty.
How has Martin Keown watched five replays of that without noticing the player landing on Umtiti's knee? Christ he's a fucking trumpet.
First thought it wasn't a penalty but it does look like his hand makes a sudden move towards the ball.
Did Strinic just grab him by the dick.
I'd not have given it. It hits his fingers and it doesn't look unnatural.
Referees are told not to follow the “intentional” part of the rule, and instead impose the “unnatural position” rule, because it’s a fucking stupid rule
I reckon his arm was just coming down for balance, but it looked like it was moving with the ball. That doomed him as soon as video replay came to the party.
Slow motion should be not be used, it's absolutely daft.
He brings his knee up to meet the ball at the same time as his hand comes down. That’s a penalty for me.
It's marginal, but I'd give it. The people say it's obvious either way are the wrong ones.
France shitting their way through this one. Perisic's goal was class.
Either way France have scored the two worst goals of the tournament and are up 2-1. Depressing.
Judging from all the different reactions it certainly can't be classed as clear and obvious...
Pavards goal wins this or we riot.
That rule doesn't seem to apply because refs (by and large) refuse to give anything marginal and then just leave it to the VAR.
Have there been any really obvious ones that have been missed? Kane against Tunisia and that Serbian one, I guess, but nothing happened with those . . .
See Umtiti's effort against Australia.
I'm not even sure you can say Perisic's arm is in an unnatural position. He's been done because, in slow-motion, it looks like the path his arm has taken has been designed to make contact with the ball, which, in reality, I don't think it has. But slow-motion is a cruel mistress.
The cricket laws use 'wilful' instead of deliberate for all these occasions, which I think is a much better definition.
Even if it was a penalty, I really feel for Croatia if they lose this, such a shit way to concede two goals.
fuck sake
Enjoy russian prison
Bringing N'Zonzi on in the World Cup final, bloody hell.
I like Nzonzi but not much mobility through the middle for France now.
