Cousins going to the Jets would be fucking mental and a weird steal.
I was hoping he would go to the likes of Ravens and Browns etc.

There's not a chance he'd go to the Ravens.
We have fuck all cap room and we can't cut Flacco.
Only QB we'll be bringing in is a 3rd or lower pick in the draft.
I’d expect the only realistic candidates are Denver, the Jets, Arizona & the Vikings. Everyone else is too shit and/or too poor to get him.
I played around with the Cleveland WARCHEST a couple of days ago to see how mental their free agency spending could be - I went $40m on Cousins first year thinking that was bold enough to get it done but apparently not
Then again I spent the remaining $60m on Lev Bell, Jarvis Landry, Malcolm Butler & resigning Josh Gordon, so that could still probably do it as a full package.
I'm really hoping that we make a push for one of Gordon or Landry.
Wont happen but I can dream.
Riley Ferguson from Memphis feels like he could be a decent day three option for someone like Baltimore. I’d like the Saints to grab Mike White or Kyle Lauletta with our 4th or early 5th, but if they aren’t there (which the probably shouldn’t be) then Riley late R5 would be fine too, especially if we also nabbed their WR Anthony Miller in R3 (also highly unlikely).
Baltimore are probably better off waiting & taking someone like Jarret Stidham, Drew Lock or Justin Herbert in R1 next season though. How many more years of cap oblivion has Flacco doomed you to?
https://overthecap.com/player/joe-flacco/1383
It's not too bad if we cut him next year but 2020 is the better option.
I can’t see Gordon going anywhere - considering Cleveland have kept him sitting around through all his shenanigans it would be mad to let him walk as soon as he actually shows up & plays.
Landry will probably end up in Chicago. I’d say San Fran, but they already have Garçon who Shanahan loves & who does basically the same role. Jets getting him & Cousins could be great too though.
WR with your first two picks might not be terrible - Calvin Ridley is the obvious one if he falls to you, but otherwise I like the idea of Courtland Sutton in R1 & Anthony Miller in R2. Could follow that by chucking in a TE like Mike Gesicki, Hayden Hurst or maybe even Mark Andrews in the third, although you might have to take Andrews before Miller in that scenario.
That’s depressing. One more year of misery then a year of knowing there’s someone good waiting on the bench to take his place would be okay - you have to get someone by the 2020 draft though, even if that means forking out to go up & grab Jake Fromm or Tua (holy shit I’ve just seen his actual first name)Tagovailoa in that draft.
You can understand why he shortened it.
That's a good name but it probably doesn't crack the top hundred names in the NFL. Isn't there a bloke called Ha Ha in the league?
He should probably just go by Tua Tag & save everyone a lot of trouble. They probably charge extra to get a jersey with his name on.
Looks like the Bucs have followed up the release of Doug Martin by also letting Chris Baker go, and you can see why pretty quickly - his entire cap hit is wiped, there were questions about his effort & in 15 games he had half a sack more than I did all last season. The Bears have also made a second move by deciding to let Josh Sitton hit free agency. This free agency could actually be loaded, although in all likelihood Lev Bell, Allen Robinson & DeMarcus Lawrence will all get the tag if they don't sign before the deadline.
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix although his full name is Ha'Sean Treshon Clinton-Dix.
There's also someone on his way to the NFL named Kobe Buffalomeat. He appeared on that Name of the Year thing I posted last year.
Get a picture of him in your head and then Google him. I guarantee your picture was wrong.
I always enjoyed D'Brickashaw Ferguson as a name, personally.
My favourite from the upcoming draft class is probably Equanimeous St. Brown, although Hercules Mata'afa is a decent candidate as well. You could probably chuck BJ Hill in too, to be fair.
+1 for D'Brickashaw.
I also loved Captain Munnerlyn.
Here's a scenario for you 'how.
Baker Mayfield & Calvin Ridley are both available when you pick in R1. Do you gamble on the QB & try to figure out what the fuck to do with him & Flacco later, or do you take the 24 year old WR that may or may not get better than he already is in a class with quality & potential all the way down?
The one that is the actual best name is Winston Justice. Such a waste of a great name.
Onto the mental stuff, Earthwind Moreland is a favourite of mine. Frostee Rucker is good too, named after poet Robert Frost which must be one of the stupidest not-stupid things ever.
Other good'uns include C.J. Ah You, Fair Hooker, Yourhighness Morgan and of course this guy who I discovered when Googling amusing names recently to entertain myself:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Monds
Find the thread I started for the 'Name of the Year' competition last year, Ian. You'll enjoy yourself. Marmaduke Treblecock makes an appearance, and isn't close to the best.
You've brought up that Earthwind bloke before. If his middle name isn't 'Anfire' it's a fucking shame.
I like that there was a QB in the 80s called Chuck Long.
Nominative determinism ftw.
Looking back on it, I absolutely undervalued Dougal Spork at the time. Aphrodite Bodycomb remains an utter fucking masterpiece.
I hope they made him throw screens & checkdowns just to spite him. CJ Ah You is a name I'd forgotten completely
Dr Prospero Gogo v Bumper Pool in the first round of the divisional matches is extremely unfair, and throwing Di Cerulean Stylo & Dick Posthumus in to face each other in the second round of the same group is cruel too. Then on top of that you have Marmaduke Trebilcock in there as well. Talk about a group of death.
Aphrodite Bodycomb is probably the overall winner though, with Bird Lovegod winning the oddity award.
Sultan McDoom and Shaft Cubit are wonderful.
Cinnamon Danube is surely a pudding of some sort.
It probably belongs on a dessert menu alongside Chardonnay Pantastico.
Taco Dibbits for starters, of course.
Dolphins have tagged Landry as soon as the tag window opened, although there’s still talk they could be doing it so they can trade him.
The ultimate fine dining experience
Clicking on the NFL article about the Jags cutting Ivory has thrown out a great name that was also cut.
I'Tavius Mathers...
So...the Chiefs are now pretty much garbage?
Toggle Spoiler
Was rumours that a trade might happen as he was pissing people off there.
Big decision though considering just how shit their secondary is outside of Berry now.
Considering how cheap his contract still is right now they must be getting a lot of picks for him.
Nobody's ever worth the number of picks we'd think. They probably got a second & third or something.
No second (for this year) as they gave it up for Watkins.
1st and 3rd from this year plus a second from next year.
It wont be that but that's what I'm thinking.
Ravens camp thought that Jefferson wouldn't have cancelled out Wagner and they'd get a third.
Played, lads.
I sure hope the Chiefs have a grand scheme in mind for replacing Peters. He may have been a pain in the ass, but he was also a damn good corner
You’d have to imagine they’ll be going after Trumaine Johnson/Malcolm Butler in free agency or taking one with their first pick in the draft.
Any news on what they got yet?
Peanut Tillman has become an FBI agent since retiring:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...w-an-fbi-agent
Jags have given Blake bortles a 3 year $54m base extension.
Was not expecting that.
They had their best season in years and he was under centre. I can see why they've done it. It's not costing them a bomb($18m per season I think), he knows the team inside out and was only 1 incomplete pass, which was just defended well, from the Superbowl.
Well there goes Kirk Cousins' dream landing spot.
It's Jets, Browns, Broncos or Cardinals now isn't it?
I don't think he ends up at the Browns. I'd be surprised if he didn't end up a Cardinal.
The Browns and Jets have too good a draft position with too many QBs there. If they think any of them are Day 1 starters and winners, there's no way they should be throwing elite QB money at Cousins.
The Cardinals have less of a shot at getting one of the key QBs so could be in win-now mode, same as the Broncos if big John doesn't fancy any of them in the short term (although the Broncos at 5 have a mighty fine shot at least).
I suspect the Browns might see if they can snag McCarron on middling/prove it money over a 2-3 year deal and nab an elite guy in the draft in case it doesn't work out and the rookie proves to be a phenom like Wentz did. A bit like Seahawks did with Wilson/Cassel.
Obviously I know fuck all about this, and just rambling, but that's the logic I'd see.
Don't think he goes to Buffalo either. I can see Buff keeping Tyrod a year and grabbing a QB in 1st round this year (either through trading up, or taking someone who falls) in the low 20s).
