I know it is but I didn't see any real point in correcting him.

Your anxiety over seeing gore is the one thing about you that surprises me. I remember lolling for a while at you asking if there was loads of gore in Arrival.
Shape of Water. Worth it or not?
As a deviant, the fish sex should be right up your alley.
Really enjoyed The Founder.
The fuck.
It was a good love story but yeah weird in a bad way. Most people fucking hate it and I can see why.
All things said and done, Sally Hawkins has an INCREDIBLE body for a 41 year old. I'm in love with her. She's fucking delightfully gorgeous.
Edit: yes she looks like the girl I used to work (also in love with her) with's mum.
I'm watching it on Saturday. Tissues at the ready.
You'll hate it.
Justice League is an abysmal, laughable, barely believably stupid mess of a film. Even with the execrable Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad as markers for what to expect I still couldn't believe how bad it was. I've seen more competently made six minute shorts thrown together by students.
Just got back from Maze Runner: Death Cure.
Better than the second easily but not as good as the first. Main down points are the same ones throughout the series though, lack of real plot (bar the first), far too predictable and 'Hollywood Physics'.
Enjoyable affair though but I feel the trilogy could have been better, especially after the first which I really liked a lot.
I'm staggered they made three films out of it to be honest. Top effort that.
The tidal wave of wank surrounding Black Panther is also quite impressive, particularly considering I'd also be staggered if it was anything other than superheroes hitting each other.
It’s all about the soundtrack.
I'm a twit
The range of accents in Black Panther is outstanding. Its like every single person went to a different African country to learn their accent, and then all still kinda sounded American. Its on par with a standard Marvel movie, only with less comedy & more tribal dancing. Not sure how its getting godly reviews, other than MAJORITY BLACK CAST MUST NOT LOOK RACIST! logic.
Maze Runner was alright, but after they left the maze it just became fairly generic. The final one was especially guilty of that, I thought - real by the numbers stuff. Still, always good seeing Aiden Gillen being a slimey cunt.
I also really enjoyed Shape of Water. They managed to get across a lot of charm & emotion with a main character who cant speak, and another whos a fish. Its like La La Land meets Bioshock.
Its reviews are starting to level out. Wasn't it like 9.5 on IMDB at one point? Now 7.6 and it'll probably drop further.
8pm on a Saturday evening and E4 have Men in Black on. Jesus Christ.
Nightcrawler was total shit.
Felt a bit weird after the Shape Of Water. I mean it's beautiful in many ways and there are numerous charming (and cartoon like evil) characters which make it watchable but the whole premise is wtf.
Yeah - not really sure what I make of it all.
You're beyond help, Foe.
Does the thing in Shape of Water look as much like Abe Sapien as it does in the trailers?
Yes. Same man behind the makeup/motion capture.
I knew Doug Jones was in the suit or whatever but I was surprised at how on those glimpses it looked like they'd just lifted the same character and plonked him down into that. Particularly give Abe was in Del Toro films, you'd think he'd have made a point of moving away from that a bit unless it was an intentional ploy.
Maybe I just dislike jake gylenhall too much.
You could hate every actor to appear on screen with a burning passion and the narrative would still be sufficiently compelling to raise the film above 'total shit'.
A Gylenhall though.
It's almost like in junky Glasgow land people aren't allowed to have opinions that don't mirror John's. Good thing he's super important.
I didn't like Nightcrawler. The character just didn't feel real/believable, which turned me off to the whole film.
If you're going to take petty little swipes, Foe, you should make them a great deal wittier or more cutting than that one. That's just limp nonsense.
Noted babe. Xx
Mexican director, mate. It's the best film ever made.
That wall can't come soon enough.
Black Panther is pretty good. Not their best, not their worst; but definitely better for not having a load of shit comedy in it.
Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I've not seen much of this phase (I've missed Doctor Strange, Guardians 2 and Thor 3) but I reckon it's my favourite since Winter Soldier.
It's also surprising how many people turn out to be experts in African linguistics when others have had the temerity to consistently think that a mere action film is good.
Also, per MCU tradition, the third act is a bit of a let-down.
I re-watched Winter Soldier last week. It really has no business being as good as it is.
Just watched Black Panther and whilst I really enjoyed it (I'd say it's top 5 Marvel or just outside of it) it's not as brilliant as reviews have made it out to be. I do feel that had it not had a majority black cast then it wouldn't be getting the reviews it is. I personally prefer Dr. Strange and Thor 3 in this phase alone.
Has anyone seen that My Friend Dahmer film?
I'm a twit
Watched Match Point last night which was a seriously odd film. Quite enjoyed it until the twist.

Going to the cinema for the first time in yonks tonight. Options are:
Black Panther
I, Tonya
Shape of Water
Three Billboards
Darkest Hour (don't fancy that much today)
What should we see?
3 Billboards or I, Tonya.
RL walking in to a Black Panther screening.
Thinking there's any black people in Norwich
I've only seen Black Panther so that.
I'm not sure what to do about I, Tonya. It seems to be getting mad reviews but I really have no interest in figure skating and I already know about the Nancy Kerrigan attack.
