Lee Johnson attempting to fellate Guardiola will be one to miss.

Hopefully this has a similar outcome to our last two-legged tie against North London Red.

You could just get tokens in to the lower ranked positions easily enough without setting yourself up with this, so lol at the FA being typically useless. Then again, by the time we ever sack Gareth Southgate Sol Campbell might have found a job and taken the game by storm.

    *the phone rings*

*a man, at his desk, sighs*

    'Hello?'

crackly line 'Is that Mr Hughton?'

'You can use my first name now. You call often enough.'

*the man's PA smirks from across the room. The man rolls his eyes*

down the phone 'Sorry, Chris. It's just that the England job has come up again, and we were wondering...'

'You do know I'm Irish, right?'

    'What?'

'Fifty-three caps. Listen, I've got to go, but I'll ask Amanda to email you Marcus Bent's number.'

    'But Chris...'

    *the phone slams down*

'Amanda, can you ring around Singapore and see if anyone needs a keynote speaker? Ta.'

Lee Johnson is a Rodgers level weirdo but seems to be a good coach. Wonder if someone will take a punt on him if they don’t go up.

They get the ball so high up the pitch and are so aerobically fit (insert smiley of choice) that a team will always drop too deep in the end, as they did there.

Everton’s major shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, has claimed Romelu Lukaku refused to extend his contract at Goodison Park after a voodoo message told him to join Chelsea.

Lukaku was sold to Manchester United for £75m in the summer having rejected a contract worth £140,000 a week at Everton in March. The Belgium international had wanted to rejoin Chelsea at the time and, according to Moshiri, may have extended his stay at Goodison but for a religious intervention.

Moshiri was addressing Everton’s general meeting, after which the chairman, Bill Kenwright, confirmed the costs of the club’s proposed new stadium at Bramley Moore dock had escalated towards £500m. At the end of the meeting a shareholder asked the club’s board why Lukaku had been sold without a replacement secured.

The British-Iranian billionaire replied: “With Romelu I wasted two summers trying to keep him. The first summer I spent three months with his agent, him, his mother and his family and we managed to keep him for another year.

“Then, last summer, we offered him a better deal than Chelsea. Whatever they offered we matched but he just didn’t want to stay. He wanted to play for Chelsea at that time.

“I can assure you we tried everything to keep Rom. If I tell you what we offered him you wouldn’t believe it. We offered him a better deal than Chelsea and his agent came to Finch Farm to sign the contract. Robert [Elstone, Everton’s chief executive] was there, everything was in place, there were a few reporters outside, then in the meeting Rom called his mother. He said he was on a pilgrimage in Africa or somewhere and he had a voodoo and he got the message that he needs to go to Chelsea.

“I got close to Rom, I like the boy, he’s a good boy, and I used all my charm to keep him and I flatly failed. This is unfortunately the world. Ultimately we lost money. To buy Rom now would be £120m. The issue was his brain had gone. He was in LA and he wouldn’t come back. It happens. Alex Ferguson got another year out of [Cristiano] Ronaldo but then he was off. [Luis] Suárez had to bite a few players to get off.”

There's been some funny goings on with the Sevilla v United match in the CL.

United fans will be charged £89, which United said was a disgrace and asked them to bring the price to the same as they will charge Sevilla fans but Sevilla wouldn't budge.

So United changed the Sevilla fans tickets to £89 and said they'll subsidize United tickets using that money.

So now Sevilla, refusing to back down have said they will now pay the difference in price for their fans.

So both clubs are charging £89 a ticket but no fan will pay more than the ordinary price. Bananas.

It's daft in the end, but it's fair enough for United to call out such wankery (which has been commonplace in Spain for years).

Sevilla probably have about 8 travelling fans though.

Such a bollocks way of dealing with it. If the hope was to look the righteous club they failed.

Aren't Seville pissing and moaning about them only getting 4.1% allocation instead of 5%?

I shouldn't be. If they actually wanted to act morally they should have simply paid the difference for the United fans.

They should have done nothing. If you can afford sixty quid and a midweek trip to Seville, you can afford ninety.

Yeah, taking it out on the opposition fans isn't any kind of moral high ground.

Lewis has it, but if they were going to anything you just cover it for your own fans, call Sevilla dickheads and get on with life.

Though it's okay for Man United to charge £50 odd for away fans when their fans only get charged half of that in the return fixture.
