Can't tell if Barney Ronay properly dislikes James Richardson going on today or just leaning into a bit.

I've never detected anything dislikeable about Richardson, other than being a massive remoaner, but then he's probably in the top 10 people in the UK who gains most benefit from us being in the European Union so you can understand it.
What's good on a Monday morning?
Does anyone else listen to Casefile? I love it, the stories are so well told and usually fascinating. The guy goes into extraordinary detail.
I'll start a lot of episodes and make it through around half. It's well done but depends on the content.
I just finished the Jonestown series on casefile. Very good. My god it's fucked up though. Those recordings.
It's the cheering that gets me when they announce they've killed the Congressman at the airfield that gets me.
I was pointed towards Hard History the other day, about halfway through an episode about Caeser and Gaul which is very good. Long though, this one clocks in at about six hours.
The First World War One is great. Something about Armageddon. 5 parts of about 5 hours each or something silly.
Yeah I saw those, it's something of an achievement when you can make six hours on a short period of Celtic history seem like the more manageable option. Really enjoyed it though so at some point I'll go back and listen to some of those.
I've been trying to get in to these whilst working but I can't concentrate on it and end up missing important chunks. How do you lot listen to them?
I have it on the iPod when I go into town or put it on when I'm cooking or doing stuff around the house.
Do you not find that it requires a fairly high amount of attention? Especially one with complex historical content and shit.
I tried it once but I have a weakness with American accents. Will give them another go at some stage.
Dublin Podcast Festival is on this week. Might try catch a few live recordings.
I listen at work when I’m doing process based tasks, running reports, etc. Anything that requires some thought and I have to switch it off.
My job's pretty low-stakes so I can listen for a few hours on a morning.
Just caught the Reviewables live there. Think it goes out on Tuesdaynext but I don't know how it'll work on audio. Karl Spain is a funny man though.
Dubland next.
Dunphy calling out Ken Early for a debate
Though it could well be a setup between them both to sell out a live show.

Casefile's Jonestown stuff is indeed fantastic and grim. The dull Aussie narration fits it well.
Has anyone given “quickly Kevin, will he score?” a go?
It’s a podcast all about 90’s football. I think my highlight so far has either been them going though (one of) Steve Bruce’s books and lolling at it or the one where they watched “the impossible job” and discussed that documentary.
Episode 1000 for Second Captains tomorrow. The subscription thing seems to have gone well for them and, for the most part, the episodes themselves have been good.
Best Sport podcast around no doubt.
It's all kicking off at the FSF awards.
I can never work out if they're all joking about it or it's all deadly serious.
I don't think Barney Ronay was joking.
What did Barney Ronay say? I've listened to both once since they fragmented and binned them off.
No doubt he's said the same thing twelve times.
It was more his tweets I've seen that seemed to be deadly fucking serious and accusing them of plagiarism.
Thinking about getting a Second Captains subscription for Christmas. Do you think it's worth it if you couldn't give a shit about Rugby or anything Irish like GAA? @Giggles
You should be fine as far as GAA goes as they'd be widely regarded as having the poorest coverage of it and would only give it any meaningful time when both championships get to the latter stages around July (finals in August). There is a fair bit of rugby these days as I find myself skipping a lot myself but there's enough soccer to make the sub worth it, especially with it coming to a world cup year and all. You'll also have less Irish international soccer coverage because they didn't qualify and they don't give the league of Ireland the time of day.
@Max Power could probably give you a better idea from a non Irish perspective.
The Blindboy podcast is seriously good.
He's basically a walking advertisement for mental health any time he's on radio or TV these days too. I don't know if he's still at it on the podcast but I always avoided it because of it. The knacker Limerick accent doesn't help either as no matter what he's saying it just sounds like he's about to rob someone's wallet.
I quite like Sid Lowe. It's been immense filling these long car journeys I've had. I'll never be podcastless on a commute again.
The podcasting world always lazy as fuck over the Christmas period. How do these two bit journos on minimum wage justify taking two weeks off, some of us have commutes and lunch breaks to fill.
If you liked video games you'd be set with Giant Bombs game of the year stuff. 15 hours of it and there's another 10 to come between now and Friday.
