@Browning
Are you attending any of the WCPW World Cup qualifiers?
.....
What I saw of the WCPW Rumble looked fun (anything with Kirby in is immediately worth watching), I also thought it was a pretty decent way of injecting at least some uncertainty into the situation they found themselves in.
.....
I don't know about anyone else but I quite fancy listening in Hindi, they'd make more sense than Booker at least.
The latest Elite episode has teased Young Bucks v Adam Cole and Marty Scurll and also Adam Cole V Marty Scurll. Add that too the long term story arc of Adam Cole V Kenny Omega and we have more story progression on a goofy YouTube channel than we do on 3 hours of RAW.
.....
It had a spooky tractor and it was all downhill from there. The crowd were not happy either, not surprised, how would you feel if you'd bought a ticket to watch a video package?
.....
Jinder Mahal! Now it really is a nightmare.
That's what I was at last night, the Mexican leg, which will air on Youtube on Friday. It was a really good show, albeit the main event was ruined by what I'm assuming right now was a legit concussion suffered really early on. Rey Mysterio is still fucking brilliant and they gave us Drew's final Indy match against Cody Rhodes completely unadvertised (I think both were advertised for the show, but not that match).
Kudos to the WWE creative team, that House of Horrors match was an even bigger sack of shit than I expected with the laughable it-has-to-finish-in-the-ring nonsense. Was that addition just to get them in position to have Jinder win the day?
Not convinced by the manner of Tonga's defeat either.
After Graves kept harping on about it I began to assume he actually had.
It failed to work on so many levels, although if it transpires that Randall rode the spooky tractor back to the arena then it will be forever redeemed in my eyes. I was impressed by one thing, that the creative team still manage to bury Bray Wyatt even when he wins.
So how the fuck did Jinder Mahal get a title shot then?
Someone allowed a situation where he was the only available/fit heel in the entire Smackdown roster.
I think the House of Horrors might genuinely be the worst thing I have ever seen in wrestling.
Well, AJ had just turned and they apparently thought it was too early for Corbin, which it is really. I'm not sure I really buy the Indian market thing, it's already their third or fourth biggest market.
Other than the major ones, has there been a decent pay per view yet under these new bi-monthly arrangements? I haven't watched any of them, but they all sound so underwhelming.
I can't remember if it was someone on here or elsewhere but I remember reading someone saying Jinder is basically going to be the JBL of the original draft. Absolutely spot on comparison and I can't wait for his year long title run.
JBL had a good gimmick though, and wasn't a horrible jobber for years before getting his push. The APA were well over before Farook retired.
I'd be curious to see what Jinders last five matches have been.
He lost his first match on Smackdown against whoever, got squashed by Pap O'Shango and then ate a few pins while teaming with Handsome Rusev I think.
I still can't believe he beat Jack Swagger when he debuted again the night after the 9/11 anniversary, so God knows how we've ended up here.
I think they just decided that this is where they wanted their people and, despite it not really working, to have a month after the superstar shakeweight where nothing makes sense. For example, AJ (a face) should now be up against Jericho (another face) for the US title but do we think that'll be the on the card for Backlash (or whatever the next one is)?
The whole superstar shake-up thing, and the effect on last night's PPV*, is really odd. I wonder if they'd been planning it a while or if it was a relatively short-term decision (maybe from Vince) that they've had to work around? It's been a bit odd however it came about.
* I forgot to say how surprised I was that Jericho won. I assume he'll not hold it for long before Owens regains it and becomes the FACE OF AMERICA again but I had an Owens win down as a foregone conclusion.
I don't get the Shake Up, like at all.
We already know the GMs can trade at any time because there was an angle where Foley said he was going to trade Zayn and no one said "No you're not, there's no shake up!" So what was the shake up? Were the GMs forced to make x amount of trades? And if so, what if they couldn't agree? And who was traded for who? All in all, it made no fucking sense, and they should have just done what they did in previous years and had a "draft night".
I assume a draft night will be coming later in the year as well. So the shakeup takes some of the shine off that as well.
It looks a bit like they've picked the rosters they want in about six months time and said fuck it, we'll just muddle through for a bit. Look at Smackdowns heels, Rusev who is injured, Owens who is tied up with Jericho and the US title, and Corbin who still needs some work before he's ready for main events. So fuck it, lets chuck Jinder to the wolves until the others are more available. It's obviously shit but it makes a weird kind of sense in that you aren't ruining anyone decent and they have no real competition so a few crap months hurts them very little if at all.
Nah the Japan ones are a bit too far out for me. I am going to go again as soon as they have anything down south though, it was well worth travelling for.
Very jealous mate there is nothing local apart from Tommy Dreamer's touring House of Hardcore
We obviously get WWE once a year (well, twice, but typically only 1 of the 2 is viable for me) but I don't think I'll bother. There wasn't one match on Payback that I would have traded for any match from WCPW, other than maybe the chance to see Bayley, who is pretty much the only person in WWE I give a shit about.
The thing I'm most looking forward to on Friday is seeing if they have to censor the crowd chants, or if they just air it with 20 minutes of us calling Joe Hendry a wanker while Kirby was down with his concussion.
They ballsed up the shakeup thing by setting up Raw PPV matches the day after Wrestlemania and then switching some of them round, it's like they're giving up on the separate brand thing already.
Oh good, Ambrose and Miz again.
The Angle / Edge/ Christian Table for 3 that went up last night is pretty good.
Is Edge on it every week now that Sci Fi discovered he can't act?
It is odd that they've been on two and just switched Foley for Tangle. Still got Cornette and Bischoff to come. I wonder why they've stopped doing the Stone Cold Podcast interviews on the Network.
Love that the first thing that happened on Smackdown was it essentially being announced that Mahal would be beating Zayn. Didn't he squash him on Raw about a month ago?
Aiden English blubbing after losing seems a surefire way to get his "new" gimmick over too.
Pretty sure the Dean Ambrose interview is why they cancelled the Stone Cold podcast on the network.
Loads of those episodes have the same people on them, Kevin Nash is on about three with slightly different people, presumably he couldn't be bothered getting up so they just filmed several episodes around them.
You wouldn't think Kevin Nash has any insight/stories left to offer after doing a shoot a day for the last decade.
He doesn't, however he very much likes getting paid.
He as good as said this in the one with Michaels and Styles.
He mostly just spent an hour being awkward and disinterested. I guess the most notable thing was when he all but called Lesnar an insufferable twat for refusing to do anything interesting with their Wrestlemania match.
He told it like it was. That he and Lesnar had a big match planned for WM, but Lesnar turned up on the day and vetoed most of it.
It wasn't anything we didn't know already. Just, you're not allowed to say anything publically against one of the companys biggest draws. He also came across as a little bored and disinterested in most things.
oh yeah i'm going to raw on monday
If anyone wants to see Charlotte Flair's tits, they're on Celeb Jihad.
I didn't know they existed til she tweeted about it. Thick twat.
