Just you wait until they see sense and get Otunga on there.
Just you wait until they see sense and get Otunga on there.
Shibata's headbutted his way into forced retirement. Silly Japanese sods.
WhatCulture have clambered aboard their soapbox and declared that Otunga and Saxton were switched because RACISM. Never mind that they're both anonymous and shit, it has to be because they're both black.
Speaking of which, I'm glad JBL bullied that bloke out of the company. He was appalling.
Surely it's because they're both the 3rd wheel. You wouldn't swap Otunga for fucking Cole would you?
Hopefully this doesn't mean more Tom Phillips though. He's the shittest commentator going. At least Otunga is the third man when he's being silent for 90% of a match. Phillips does that when he's supposed to be the lead commentator and it's so awkward.
They're both the third wheel, they're both shit and there's not a fucking chance Cole or Graves are going anywhere.
I don't mind Phillips. We're definitely getting more of him anyway with JBL having seen off Mauro.
Maybe he'll grow into the role, but AJ Vs Shane was totally killed for me by those long awkward silences in the commentary. I don't watch Smackdown though so maybe he just had a bad night. I wish they would just let JR do it.
I think I don't mind the silences because the WWE lead commentator for whatever show is usually so busy rabbitting on about whatever Vince is squawking down their ear.
As you say though, the answer is just to get JR back because he actually knows what he's doing. It can't be that hard to get good commentary, though.
I've heard Kevin Kelly is very good.
You would think JR would want to be kept busy at the moment as well.
Phillips is shite. He was primary wasted during Mauro's reign. Both Saxton and Otunga can't hold it together on the mic and are boring as fuck.
Corey Graves is getting dangerously close to JR levels and it's fucking glorious. I'm not sold on Nigel McGuiness as a color commentator just yet. Cole needs to back away from the desk and just let Graves and McGuiness let rip. Remind me why everyone shouted for JBL to return again after Lawler's heart attack?
Im going to be a big Okada mark and rewatch all his title matches starting with Tanahashi. It will be up there as one of the greatest Pro Wrestling reigns ever by the time he drops it.
Kenny Omega's G1 Climax run last year had me hooked.
I might actually pull my finger out and finally watch the Okada/Tanahashi that was first getting best-match-ever reviews. Got the one with JR commentary bookmarked.
EDIT: Also I watched Survivor Series '13 last night. I reckon the commentary might be the worst I've heard, and WWE has set the bar pretty high (or low) on that front.
The Chris Jericho podcast with Kur Tangle is worth a listen.
I've given up on RAW again so just skim read the results this morning. Nice to see an original ending.....
Rosey has died, according to WWE. No mention about cause.
This might be a bit out there, but do you think it might have been a heart attack?
Is he another of the someway related or in a similar tribe to the rock, crew?
Both of Rosey and Jamal gone now. Almost like this rasslin' business is bad for you.
I see Jeff "Deletion" Hardy made his singles return last night.
When's Broken Matt's turn then?
Isn't he Roman's brother?
Aren't they all these days?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anoaʻi_family
I lose track of who's who but yeah, Rosey was Roman's brother.
Yeah, from about two minutes into the match it was pretty obvious how it was ending.
Alright, what dirt has Jinder got on Vince?
India is a massive market for the WWE.
Anyone seen Kurt Angle's NJPW match from 2008? I've had to add it to my long long list.
Edit: Don't bother slow and boring.
Jinder kept seeing that gif of Vince getting orgasmic over a bodybuilder and got to work. The man looks like he's going to explode with every bump.
Amazing what eating healthily can do for you.
Jinder fucking Mahal?
The Bollywood Boyz are part of his gang by the looks of it, which is at least a step up from this
LOVE YOU DLO
Titantron works fine, no problems here.
Oh. 'Harlot'. I wouldn't even see that as intentional.
Charlotte is a bit of alright. #shortbaldcreep
So I'm checking out some NJPW as people won't stop wanking themselves silly over it. A couple of matches lined up on YT and I've grabbed a copy of Sakura Genesis 2017 (snappy naming conventions don't seem to be the done thing in the Jap-Grap scene).
Initial impressions are pretty positive, the Japanese version of Michael Buffer certainly earns his money, Taka Michinoku has made an appearance along with Jushin Thunder Liger (looks like the same guy too, which is impressive until you realise he does a forward roll and that's about it these days) and no less than two people called Tiger Mask on the same team, not sure how that's supposed to work but ok. The YT matches both had Okada in them and once you get used to the almost silent crowd and different pacing then it's rather good, however I'm not sure that more dangerous really equals better. This Okada chap in particular seems to have something against his own neck, he's forever letting people drop him on it and he'll be having surgery/retiring before long if this is his normal working practice. He does have a lovely drop kick on him though so there's that.
TNA had Okada for a while, and had him running round in a mask like Bruce Lee in the Green Hornet. With the history of Japanese wrestlers in the US it's almost a miracle that Nakamura isn't bowing to everyone and describing himself as velly goodooooo
Sounds quite restrained for TNA, they're normally much more racist than that.
I'm pretty sure one of the Tiger Mask blokes is Ibushi. For some reason the Japanese get a kick out of seeing characters from a cartoon wrestling.
Okada's willingness to be on the end of a dragon superplex at Wrestle Kingdom was the most dangerous move I've ever seen. My mate Metlzer went off on how stupid it was.
@Disco
The dumbest move in pro wrestling.

Edit: Although it did add to the drama when Okada won.
The Shibata head butt pushes that close. It's tough to watch when he does it.
That head butt is definitely my strong style threshold.
I watched that yesterday and it was fucking stupid, real or fake it ruined the match. Shame really because it was good up until then.
Is 'Okada wins lol' a thing? It sort of seems like it should be after getting thrashed for most of the match and then winning with a couple of clotheslines.
I'm such an Okada mark I won't hear anything about 'Okada wins lol' if it is a thing. He should drop it soon though because Omega v Cole would be a cool
Well he got beaten up for half an hour and Shibata just took pretty much everything he had hardly breaking stride in the process. Seems a bit lol to win so easily after all that.
Watching Orton / Cena at TLC '13 and they're saying the WWE vs. World Heavyweight title thing is a match FIFTY YEARS IN THE MAKING.
Is that exactly what Jericho vs. Austin was after the invasion?
Finally got round to watching the rest of Smackdown.
Jinder Mahal and Kevin Owens have the same gimmick. Let that sink in for a second.
