I've avoided most of what Rogue One is about until such a time as it lands for download. Is it 3.5 or 6.5 in the story?

Oh crap weasel, can't believe I forgot Home Alone and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation! All great films.

Love Die Hard, it is it a Christmas film? Or a film set around Christmas?

From what I saw in trailers, it's 3.5.

There was nobody recognisable (characters) in the trailers from what I seen.

EDIT: Actually, forgot the short Vader bit. Should have known then.

Vader pops up near the end, I remember his asthmatic breathing.

Surely the screeners are still out there, people can't have stopped being slack as fuck/corrupt with the copies they've been given?

Hive/CM8 run their own site. Impossible to get into these days. Rumours are they're there, but not leaking publically. Yet, anyway. If they're there they'll find a way out.

You need someone with screener access to even get 'em out there. If nae fucker wants to do it, no screeners.

If you've got a spare 2 hours 43 minutes, find something better to do than watch American Honey.

You'll only get depressed at how fantastic Shia Labeouf's hair is, and want a lesbian mate. And still not like trap music.

Watching David Brent: Life on the Road and if it wasn't so difficult to forget that it's multi-millionaire Ricky Gervais in the role I'd probably be pretty depressed.

It was an ok watch and I was never bored, but it was comfortably the worst 'episode' of The Office and has absolutely no business being a film.

The David Brent movie was a travesty.

On a better note, Rogue One is very good. I didn't really think much of the new characters but the story was well-written, it even undid a little of the damage done by the prequels, and the last act was approaching greatness.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates is poor.

Not sure how Zac Efron keeps getting all these comedy roles either, he's not very funny and really should lay off the steroids.

Rogue One pretty much divides into thirds:

The first third: A bit dull and difficult to follow
The second third: Haphazard, but mostly fun
    The third third: Just outstanding

I would agree with that Ital. The whole final third essentially transformed me into an adult version of my giddy eight year old self, watching the original for the first time. So good.

Fassbender has been a massive Ass Creed nerd for years apparently. He was the first actor signed up and has been pushing his mates for yonks.

For some reason I find that really hard to believe.

I just can't picture Fassbender sitting down to play some Assassin's Creed in his downtime.

The film is obviously balls but I'll need to see it as I love the series.

Don't like that they made original characters for it though, I'd have loved to have seen Altair.

Apparently 60-65% of the movie takes place in the modern day. Given that those parts of the games were always terrible, there was no chance this was going to turn out well.

This was always my thinking when I heard they were making a movie out of it. It's a decent enough series of games, but the whole modern day aspect and the "ancestral memories" framing of the entire thing has always been total nonsense and the worst thing about it. I've no idea why anybody thought it was a good idea to make a film based on that.

If they'd made a film based on an old timey bloke parkouring all over the place that was based on and named after a game everyone would have assumed it was Prince of Persia (which also had an oddly excellent cast) and avoided it. Sticking some modern day stuff in there sets it apart, albeit in a way that makes it look more boring than playing the game.

It's an interesting twist though, as I remember it the marketing for the original game specifically avoided mentioning anything about the modern day so that it being a sort of sci-fi game was a surprise.

Speaking of Blade Runner, I watched Sicario the other day, finally.

It was pretty good, but not much like I had expected. It was much slower and more suggestive - I sort of expected something more like that film "Animals" from Oliver Stone I think a few years ago .

And, having recently finished Narcos, and after that watched Narco Cultura (about Juarez mostly) and Cartel Land just last week, I definitely had enough context to get everything that was going on (since so much of it was only implied) - but if I wouldn't have I'm not sure I would have completely understood it all and probably wouldn't have enjoyed it very much.

Now I think I'm out of things to watch on the Latin American drug situation.

Just started watching Deepwater Horizon.... after a dodgy test result, they have decided to go ahead with process x - at which point, the boss decides to go take a shower, and his number 2 decides to Skype his missus, leaving in charge some hapless young chap - I'm really hoping that this is dramatic license.
