I blame you, Pleb. Remember that I blame you.
I blame you, Pleb. Remember that I blame you.
Well yeah. It's just a form of entertainment, just like any other.
It became less entertaining so I stopped using it. I don't see it as being my responsibility to maintain the place. If I tv show I watch goes to shit I don't write in with new scripts. There's no scope for improvement anyway. It's all the same recycled opinions on stuff.
It means more to some (you) than it does to others. Your sniping at people is one of the things making it unattractive, by the way. Let it die.
He rolled, I recall.
Nobody blamed Haxball for killing the board when we spending half our time on it.
Plenty of people did actually.
Aye, they did.
I think it worked both ways. When we had a decent amount of people in there, the people sitting out would be browsing this place, so I'd be checking every 10 to 15 minutes, which is more than I would do if I was to decide to do something else. Haxball made me more active, but obviously that wouldn't have been the case for everybody.
It's a 'form of entertainment' that depends on your contributing, so your telly analogy would only work if your programmes started going to shit on account of you closing your eyes and muting them (which may be fitting if you have only just noticed a turn towards negativity).
This board has been dripping with negativity from day one. There are now just not as many redshirt posters to pad it all out.
I'll always post here even when it's just me, Giggles and Mahow.
Edit: and Lewis.
We'd be like Chernobyl. Stuck in the mid-00s in 2035.
This continued fascination with 'the Group' is all a bit odd.
Fuck off giggles.
I think this place has surprising longevity considering. We have some older bastards like spikey and offshore posting and on occasion bam remembers to post. Elth turns up and who knows, maybe we will even get Taz.
If I had to predict the state of the bitter-enders, I would go me, Baz, Floyd, John, Mahow, Pepe, and Smiffy. The Core Group, in many respects, and more than enough to keep things going.
i'm gonna be sticking around simply out of resentment that the accepted peak of the place was about 3 years before i even started posting, delusionally thinking it'll pick up again soon.
It's almost hard to believe that your own peculiar brand of whinge isn't sufficient, in and of itself, to reengage posters who've lost interest.
The politics threads are about the only thing which give me cause to check here with any regularity. Absent them, I'll retreat fully into the Group and leave you to it. Which you'll profess complete indifference to in any response no doubt, yet you'll continue to complain bitterly that we're all supposedly posting in a WhatsApp group instead.
It wasn't Kiko.
The whingers have it wrong, anyway. The Group is far more a consequence than a cause of this place being tedious. The likes of yourself and Boydy (being the two prime examples) do nothing but whinge and jibe. The whole thing is an effort.
It's entirely your prerogative to do so if you choose, but you can't be surprised when people find it boring and choose to do other things instead. And that's all some members of the entirely fictional 'Group' are doing - choosing to do other things instead of wading through the same old arguments and the same old recycled digs.
Who's in the WhatsApp group? Isn't it only Kiko and Taz in there that are good anyway? Kiko is still about, so it's not that damaging.
I doubt I'll get tired of checking this place even when the cockroaches start moving in. The most informative and enjoyable way of filling dead time for the last decade plus.
I'm nothing if not a creature of habit so unless there's literally nobody left I'll probably still keep a tab open.
The negativity's off the scale these days.
That feeling when you come into a thread and the families arguing with each other
My dab at the WhatsApp was very much a joke. A forum is whatever you contribute to it. Those sniping about how shit it is (still haven't understood this, disappeared for about 2 years and theres only a 5 or so member difference in the regulars) don't make anything better.
I would love to be spending my time updating this place (I haven't been able to quote people for over a month due to a bug on Chrome) and making this place feel active but frankly my job has to come first and spending your time doing a version of your job at home sucks.
I'm looking at getting a week or two off next January to work on TTH.
What you need help with? I can probably do something over Christmas break if breaking up the workload is something you're interested in.
Reckon there's ever been a discussion in the group about who is and who isn't ever gonna be invited? Like 'if any of you lovely sods ever invite giggles to this chat, I'm gonna leave. I'll still love you all but enough is enough.'
I'm a twit
All this shit about the WhatsApp group is how conspiracy theories start.
How far up the illuminati chain are you, keeks?
At least we didn't create our own forum like the grassroots guys.
I'll join ya lr
Can I join?
Phonics rant has just given me a new idea. Thread coming soon!
More > Less.
