That's the one, I was slightly out with the year. He was gone from Ferrari by 92 but that was definitely the last Mexican GP because they banged on about it endlessly last year.
You had the manouvre, both drivers, and the track down so you can be forgiven a couple of years in fairness.
How the fuck he keeps control of it from 0:13 onwards I have not a scoobie.
As great as the massive new stand full of Mexicans is it's a shame they butchered that corner, it's a bit of a nothing track without it.
So am I right in thinking Rosberg wins the title if he just finishes second in the remaining races?
Correct.
Here's hoping Mad Max pulls a jaffer on him and punts him off at T1, if only just to make the title more exciting.
Rosberg struggled in Q1 and Q2 but then pulled it out of the hat in Q3.
Here's hoping he plays it too conservative and gets mashed by the Red Bulls.
Hamilton upside down in a fire ball please.
Hamilton needs Rosberg to bin it into a barrier or an engine failure. It's either that or you've got to have Rosberg get one 4th place finish or worse. Given the Mercs power in a straight line it isn't happening at Abu Dhabi. The best hope is the Red Bulls in Brazil.
Against another team Hamilton might have had a chance, but given the Mercedes team mate on either side is almost a default 2nd place, it's not happening. If Rosberg does find a way to bottle this, the seethe will be immense.
0.5s off Hamilton until that last lap, Red Bull may be able to threaten him so it could potentially shake up the title race a bit. Or Hamilton will fluff another start and it'll all be over by teatime.
I mean, Verstappen could torpedo him at some point. He limped over the line in Abu Dhabi last season, too.
Are they doing anything about Mercedes destroying everyone next year?
They'll probably just ruin it a little bit more.
More influence on aero under the new regs, hence Adrian Newey has stopped dicking about with boats and gives a shit once more.
Lewis
Cue rage from his detractors.
There's nothing so sweet as a Vettel first lap puncture.
Rosberg naughty there for me.
If you're in first, why would you not drive across the grass from the start? Seems to barely slow you and you can't be punished for it.
Because you can be punished for it and it gets dirt and grass everywhere.
'Never meet your heroes. You might end up running them off the road.'
Brundle is absolute class.
I'm only half paying attention, who was he referring to with that?
Alonso is dropping some mad truth bombs on the radio, he must know Ron is done for.
Sainz and Alonso having a tangle.
Come on Checo, I want to hear the roar.
If Perez was any good he'd have eaten Massa for breakfast here.
I was going to say, he's so useless in traffic, always has been. Keeps getting terrible exits from slow corners.
I can't recall how many races I've seen this year but this is comfortably the worst.
Compare it to watching someone like Alonso who sets someone up half a lap ahead of the pass, Perez is just sporadically trying to brake a bit later and hoping it works somehow.
I was worried we hadn't heard much from the gruesome twosome for a few laps. They're back! One man, one braking zone, one winner.
Lennox Lewis there, a spaniel away from looking like he just stepped off the shooting peg.
Ferrari seethe. /
I love the podium here, they basically pull up in the middle of the track and jump out.
Verstappen and Vettel to be punished and Ricciardo to get 3rd, I hope.
That said, for Verstappen to be penalized they'd have had to do the same to Hamilton in the beginning, so I'm not entirely sure.
Please crash the podium room, please!
Penalty only for Verstappen. That's odd.
Vestappen having to have his little moan to the Merc drivers
As if they care about the stroppy little twat.
Yeah, I guess that'll be their reasoning.
Unrelated to that, Vettel broke a rule that was established last week with his move against Ricciardo, so I'll be interested if there's any talk about that post-race.
Fuck me that would be glorious, I reckon he be ok though, it was as more an attacking move on Verstappen than a defensive one.
Indeed, I guess they'll give him a fine for his swearing and be done with it. He quite clearly moved to the left under braking, I thought, but I guess they'll only really start to enforce that rule from the beginning of next season, if ever.
Actually scratch that, he was miles behind Verstappen. Appeal! Appeal!
Incident between Vettel and Ricciardo is still under investigation. The Vettel seethe if anything happens.
We need to get away from all this post hoc deconstruction of incidents. Just get on with it and que sera sera. I can't stand this blame culture and Dan Ric doing a 20 minute awwwwwwlookmate.
It used to self police in those days because dangerous fucks just wouldn't last long, although saying that Andrea de Cesaris managed a 15 year career so maybe not.
10 second penalty for Vettel, moving him to 5th. He'll be properly seething now.
Superb, the only way it could be better is if it happened halfway through the podium ceremony.
Ferrari properly imploding.
Is he going to get anything for telling good ol' Charlie to fuck off?
Not sure, you would think that would come under the stewards remit but it may depend on how angry Jean Todt is.
