Twenty grand. Please be rubbish.
Twenty grand. Please be rubbish.
Which one cost 20 grand?
Storm 2, which looks quite powerful. I think there is a lot to be said for just being able to shove anything around.
She's in charge of morale and art work? What the fuck?
Storm 2 is up to £25,000 now. Please lose.
I took that to mean she makes the tea without her top on.
This series is getting better and better. Plus Thermidor are back next week!
Missed the last two because of the Olympics but I've caught up now.
Apollo flipping Dead Metal, Shunt and Matilda
Absolute fucking hero.
That massive white one is the shittest thing since Psychosprout.
It's fucking top.
Pulsar
Well deserved.
Do you ever think that half of them (like Pulsar) are too fast for their own good? It takes a week to get the weapon going, so they would be better off half as fast and much more stable.
Caught up on a double episode there. That big wheely bastard was a fascinating thing. It was ostensibly total shit, but somehow got by on the Richard O'Brien hutzpah of the dad and the fact that every other robot in the heat kept melting itself. You'd have thought those wheels would have been toast as soon as they were hit by a bar spinner.
So glad those IT twats with their £20k robot lost last week.
Loved Apollo just launching all and sundry that got in the way of its flipper.
Do you reckon there has been some BBC mandate that women be involved in most teams or something? And has that gone wrong with their various tasks being making the tea, making sure we have enough stamps and doing the colouring in?
Haha. Fuck off Carbide. Dirty bastards.
Poor old Thor took a bit of a pasting.
Since when has this removable link thing been a thing? What is the point of it other than prematurely ending battles for no apparent reason?
The amount of link retirements in this series has been irritating.
But it's been a brilliant comeback. What a great series. So many memorable battles and some great new teams. So glad Apollo won rather than Carbide. That Thor guy was/is a total legend too.
Hope it gets another series.
It'll be some kind of safety feature, otherwise you might not be able to turn it off.
The seething smiles on the Carbide faces at the end.
It's a shame the better weapons are so unreliable, flippers are the most boring thing going.
Sounds a bit cyberdyne. How are you supposed to remove it anyway? You'd think any actual danger could be dealt with by sending in Sir Killalot/the bomb disposal robot.
Flippers may be a bit dull in the age of the 'srimec', but flipping most of the house robots is still fairly awesome.
I mentally gave those guys a pass when they did that, acceptable use of boring weaponry.
Having a killswitch is sensible (and not just intended for inside the arena) when it's sat on a table near everyone else, that's where you want a way of turning it off easily. Given these are things built in sheds by amatuer spods it's probably not a bad idea.
It's back tonight.
It's garb as a grownup.
I'm a twit
Stop making axe robots.
Another £25,000 robot that sucks
lol at that smug wanker.
And that idiot and his plastic piece of shit replaces them.
That was one of the shittest fights ever.
Did they leave the bird in the back because she was whinging during their last meeting?
Hold up, another new series? Are they getting what they can while the new arena is still part of the UK or something?
Thought that was pretty good. The £25k bot is/was SO the new Mortis.
Aftershock is pretty bitchin' though. You basically have about three seconds to kill it or you're toast.
The new format is at least partly to blame, but this gentleman's agreement to limit damage is bollocks. I swear Razer/Hypnodisc just used to keep demolishing nerds until the timer went.
I don't remember what the old format was, but I'd imagine this format gives you the most reason to smash someone to pieces. The chances of having to face the same dude again are quite high.
Yeah, but the teams obviously feel like it's bad form to just demolish another team's robot when they still have other matches to play in the next few hours. It would certainly be the smartest thing to do purely from the point of view of giving yourself the best chances of winning, but it's not what's happening.
The old format was just straight knockout (right?) so once you'd beaten someone it didn't matter so much if you just took them apart, since they wouldn't have another battle til the next season.
It's almost certainly something put in place by the production company, they don't want the later rounds to be half empty (or full of mostly broken shit heaps).
That 'beater bot' was good.
'Half of the energy comes back through the robot, so we've had to design the cha...'
*wrecks itself in each match*
I was going to say these kids are robbing people, but that fat lad having a seethe has made the programme.
That seethe
Cherub is fucking shit though, and for me should have lost both fights.
That final
The amount of poncing about some of these teams do.
That Pulsar is too fast for its own good. It just slides around, when it can afford to approach opponents slowly with the weapon it has.
If those Carbide twats lose again.
What the fuck was that Nightshade shit all about?
Token lesbians.
This really is just an outlet for the Jonathan Pearce nervous breakdown that began with Benzema's goal against Honduras.
Also, was it always just the same few nerds coming back series after series?
Pretty much.
There's not a huge pool of robotic nerds building battle bots to ensure a fresh set of dickheads each season.
Edit: Shit, I had no idea that a third season had started.
That dickhead with Donald Thump should be struck off. What a twat.
Getting donned by cluster bots is proper lol.
Watching it now. Proper lol at Apex.
What a stupid idea.
I'm just about to watch their first fight.
That was amazing. Both the shitness of that massive spinner in the first fight and the tantrum the guys were having taking it to bits afterwards.
EDIT: Hahahahaaaaaaaa. That second fight was even fucking better. Killalot, who I normally think is shit, delicately dumping it into the pit at the end was just perfect.
