Stephen Fry stepping down as host of QI with Toksvig to replace him

    Ugh.

I quite like Toksvig as a panelist on it but a) it seems she just gets any job she fancies now and b) just not sure of her as a host. Not that I know who I'd have picked. Won't be the same without Fry.

That show always felt chummy enough that a regular panelist could probably manage it. I think if it wasn't Toksvig it would've probably wound up being David Mitchell or somebody.

Ah that's a big shame, Stephen's great and I'm really not a big fan of Toksvig. She's pretty one dimensional.

I wonder if it'll be less about making out Alan Davies to be a dunce. You can tell he's getting fed up of it - it's a bit like Paul Merton on HIGNFY, he's completely bored of it all. They've each done a million series to be fair.

I wonder if it'll be any less up itself without him? Probably not, but we can at least hope.

Also, Mahow, do you still watch Hell on Wheels? I seem to remember you being the only other person I ever saw mention it on the old board (I may be wrong about this though) and I've just realised the first half of the final season has aired completely without me even noticing.

I watched the first season and liked it but never started the second.

I keep meaning to get back into it though.

You should, it's really good. The season finales are nearly always ridiculous, but don't let that put you off.

I am a bit of a sucker for a Western though. Plus I've got a borderline case of man-love for Bohannon. He's such a cool bastard.

The American 'network season' runs about thirty weeks, and no show makes that many episodes, so they all take weeks at a time off. For the most part they work out a start date and an end date, and then fit everything else in wherever they can. Summer TV and cable stuff are basically the only things that get to run uninterrupted.

A year after it was axed, Revolution fans finally will get closure.

A new digital comic book from DC Comics will be released in May to give resolution to the drama's story lines that were left open-ended, Warner Bros. Television announced Wednesday. Warner Bros. Television produced the series, which NBC axed in May 2014 after a two-year run.

Following passionate fan efforts to bring the series back, Revolution's writing staff reassembled to break the story for the digital comic book. Series writers David Reed and Ryan Parrott penned the four new chapters.

Beginning May 4, one of four separate digital chapters will be rolled out every two weeks. Each of the four chapters will have a specifically designed cover, all illustrated by DC Comics artist Angel Hernandez. Fans can get a first look at the Revolution character illustrations here.

Each of the four chapters will debut exclusively on www.ComicBook.com one week before they are made available on Revolution's Facebook page.

Revolution's creator and executive producer Eric Kripke penned a special thank-you message to fans timed to Wednesday's announcement. "The loyalty you've shown Revolution these past months has been touching and overwhelming — it's meant more to me than you'll ever know," he wrote. "And solely because of your efforts, we wanted to pay you back — to give you something fantastic. And while, unfortunately, we simply can't make more episodes of the show (alas, there are financial realities we can't overcome), we can do the next best thing. Which is end the story. On our terms. Exactly the way we would have."

Revolution was executive produced by Kripke, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Rockne S. O'Bannon and Jon Favreau.

Yesterday I watched three episodes of Doctor Foster.
Today I watched two episodes of Mr Robot.

Not really feeling either of them, but will probably see them both out; purely because I've nothing else to stare at for hours on end.

I see ads for Fargo series two starting on Channel 4 or E4 soon and I like the look of it. Is it a thing I could just start watching from there or would the first series be a must beforehand?

Good shout, looks quite interesting and like what I'm after, but I see it was cancelled, which will mean an abrupt and likely unsatisfying ending to the story, which I wanna avoid.

Cheers Boydy that might be a good shout. Gonna try it out I think.

I'm currently downloading the first episode of Boardwalk Empire as well, as HBO series rarely dissappoint and it would be nice to for once start watching something that's actually finished.

It's not quite as criminal as them deciding to continue Prison Break after the prisoners broke, but Homeland should really have been a one series job.

You're extremely wide of the mark in fairness. I find most reviewers to be pretentious twats who are more interested in their 'opinion' being different than whether a show is actually entertaining, so their opinion would be the last thing I'd go by if I was picking something to watch. Most of the ones I watch I'd just happen upon and the rest I've got from some posters here who's opinions I'd respect on the subject.

Even though nobody has thought fit to tell me yet if Fargo is a continuation type show that you'd need to see the first series to be able to pick up the second, or if there is going to be a new story and I can forget the first.

It's an anthology (like True Detective) so I see no reason you'd need to watch the first series beforehand. It's worth watching if you haven't seen it though.

I haven't seen any of the new stuff yet so somebody who has can correct me if that's wrong.

Ah that's handy. I don't really have time to cram watch shows at the moment so watching the second series each week will be handy. I could go back and do the first some time if I like it and get time.

Season 2 of Prison Break was alright. Ok, not a patch on the first and the writing should have been good enough for it to hit the dizzy heights of The Fugitive, which it never did, but overall it was ok.

Just found out it got to season 2!? The misuse of prison break suspense thingy is hypnotizing but don't fuck with me. 2 seasons?! 4400/the whispers is canceled for this kind of shit to continue on TV??
If I didn't knew I would say this is sponsored by American government /illuminati/ insert conspiracy theory organization.
