No Bob's Burgers this week either. Fucking ridiculous. They've had about a month off now.

Been watching two episodes of 3rd Rock From The Sun most mornings. It's so good. I've seen most of them years ago too, but it's still great.

I never liked Harry when I was a kid but he's definitely the best one. Nina's well fit and all.

Her autism is a major part of the show. The dialogue is really funny, I'm surprised you enjoy it if you don't like her.

Basically everything I expect from Luther. An OTT, contrived, stupid, nonsensical, glorious mess. I fucking love it so much.

Nagging concern that with only two episodes the next one might be a bit of a rushed disappointment but I'm quite happy to not care until it happens.

Should I go back and watch Luther? I watched the first two episodes of the first series and found it absolutely preposterous, so gave up.

The first is definitely the weakest of the three series. It was ridiculous. The other two were a lot punchier.

Well.... eh. I don't know. I think it improved consistently through the first three series. I suppose it depends on what you found preposterous about the first two episodes, Jim.

If you don't like the fact that he was a bit of a magical psychic mind-wizard then there's definitely less of that as it goes along. It is consistently bullshit, it's just whether it's the sort of bullshit that caters to your particular taste, I guess.

Because they don't want to not do Luther given the chance but they don't want to argue the point over Elba's schedule, presumably.

The most ridiculous thing I saw in Luther was the episode when he saw CCTV footage of the suspect crouching at a petrol station and within seconds had it worked out that he was a board game nerd rolling dice to decide his fate.

I'm now upto date on Game of Thrones. It's great fun all round, though I was a bit pissed off that I knew two pretty crucial spoilers before I'd even started watching it. Don't read the spoiler if you're not upto date.

I'm now gently working my way through The West Wing, which has been solid so far. Like The Newsroom, it has the worst title/accompanying music ever, but that's the only negative so far. Martin Sheen.

Finally got started on the third series of Brooklyn Nine Nine. That first one was very fucking odd. At least Baugher is still in it though, he's the best thing on television.

The first two or three episodes of Brooklyn are just spent undoing the PLOT TWIST from the previous season. There are laughs around the edges as there will always be but there's not much else.

I don't get the critics Gotham got here. I am on the fourth episode in the second season and I can say that together with Brooklyn nine nine is the best show 2015.

I'm glad I stuck with The Man in The High Castle, it just so happens all the smaller sub-stories are more interesting than the main one and the 2 lead actors aren't a patch on the others either.

Nope. A premise that ties it into going a certain direction, laughably bad acting, unspeakably bad dialogue, and a real desperation to have every villain from the entire canon turn up at some point made it one of the worst things on TV. Admittedly I haven't watched it this year so they could have hired better writers, actors, and production designers and turned it into something worth watching, but the first half of the first season was shite.

It's so much better in the second series but once it has the universal thumbs down from on-high here it'll never have any more.

Some clown was on the Friday Night Comedy show claiming that 'TV was better in the 80's and 90's'. No way, I'm not having it.
The late 00's, early 10's were surely the heyday of TV entertainment.

Yeah. It improves once the PLOT TWIST is undone, but they clearly used it as a chance to play with some more out there ideas.

It really hit its stride again in the Christmas episode, which is comfortably the best of the season thus far.

'F is for Family' looks promising. There seem to be hints of domestic violence knocking around in the background of it which are a bit unsettling, but I think that's deliberate.

It's an animated comedy about a family in the seventies. Bill Burr and Laura Dern play the parents, which is an odd partnership but it works in the early going. Six episodes on Netflix at the moment, which I imagine I'll blitz today if it they're all of a piece with the first.

Have a word with Boydy, he'll convince you that Yevrah is Bill Winfrey.

Henry has said that before too, but I don't actually see that much, I just post about what I do see a lot more than most others seem to.

I find it bizarre that people could feel so strongly against Jimmy Fallon as John Arne seems to in that post above. "Insincere" is a particularly strange one as everything I've seen from him suggests he's as genuine as somebody in that sort of position could be. He always seems to just really enjoy what he's doing, so even if it's not all that funny I can't help but be taken in by his enthusiasm. I think you have to be remarkably cynical to do otherwise really.
