What are you talking about? It is clearly working.... Women's UFC fights are taking the top billing at events. It's actually happening now.

Don't bring your shit into this thread now too, Harold. If you want to push that agenda you can make a thread. You'll not ruin this one.
I decided to watch the fight after reading about it, and 'Conor' looked fucked after about two minutes with that extra weight on him. Did people expect him to win in about a minute? Because I can't see how he could have planned for anything else.
The third most bought PPV for the UFC was 193.
Co-main event of Joanna taking on Valerie Letourneau and the main event being Rousey against Holm.
Yes, clearly women's MMA is failing...
Oh and it was the biggest attendance for a UFC event ever too.
He thought he was going to win in a minute. If he was fighting at Lightweight he'd have been about the same weight on fight night anyway only with the added stress of a cut so either he just isn't as good as everyone thought or he fucked his camp.
I honestly thought he would beat Diaz, with his patchy record and dropped fights to muppets, but it couldn't have worked out better. McGregor on top for just long enough to think he was Anderson Silva, then getting his chin punched off and made to quit. And Nate not being the conceited arse I expected in the aftermath topped it off nicely.
The photo of him turning up at the event makes the whole thing better.

What the fuck is that?
Looks like he's trying to pull this off:
Fucking hell.
That sounds quite naive, since he can't possibly have developed his strength in any worthwhile manner. Why does he think weight classes exist?
He's been doing his strength training with him who plays The Mountain in Game of Thrones.
He bought into the hype enough to say he wanted to fight and win at every weight, so he obviously doesn't have a proper handle on classes. The UFC would have been itching for that to come true enough for them to market a McGregor v Jon Jones fight.
I'd have loved to see him fight someone like Rockhold. He'd have been killed.
I understand they weigned in within a few pounds of each other, but how wide were the fight night weights
Neither cut anything, so the weights on the night were the same as on the scales.
Is the fight on YouTube or anything? Wouldn't mind giving it a watch.
As an uninformed observer, it certainly seems that McGregors reputation is based more on his mouth than his fists. Yeah, he's a good fighter, but the Aldo win was a bit of a freak. He's not Muhammed Ali Mark 2.
The main card will have been a PPV, I found a torrent yesterday for which you can have a link if you like.
Oh and lol at the UFC allowing transexuals to fight as women. I can't wait until a man in a dress kills some woman. Then we will see how popular that decision is.
They're not you mong.
There's one transgender MMA fighter and she fights for some other promotion.
Conor McGregor vs Nate rematch at UFC 200 apparently.
At welter again too, strange decision really.
Yeah, that's weird.
Expect Nate to take it to the floor asap and just lean on McGregor.
That'll make numbers but not a fan.
More importantly I can't believe they are letting a trans-male fight a 16yr old girl at UFC 199.
Bec Rawlings is straight out of Mad Max.
I reckon James Te Huna has a worse chin than Amir Khan.
Finally legal in New York.
Shame it wasn't made legal a few months ago when they planned to have 197 in New York.
Wonder if the UFC would pull that match and put it on an event later in New York.
No chance. They'd rightly be crucified.
It's one thing if a fight gets binned on short notice because one of the fighters is hurt or fails a test or whatever, but the UFC just cancelling a fight they've already promoted to death so they can hold it elsewhere would be a shambles.
McGregor/Diaz confirmed. Absolute aids. He should be stripped of the 145 if he's just going to fanny about at welterweight.
He gets absolutely nothing out of this other than another huge payday.
You can move up in weight for big fights. Avenging a loss and all that which is what these sports are all about these days. Im not sure how it works in UFC but you get stripped of a title if it isnt defended within a year in boxing, is that the same in UFC?
They're just indulging a Connor McGregor ego trip, and it's fucking bonkers.
Daniel Cormier injured
Jon Jones to be pulled from 197 and they do the rematch in New York?
Or possibly even for 200.
Jones has said he still wants to fight at 197, at heavyweight if need be.

Rumble vs Jones is on the table
Make it fucking happen lads.
The rep swiftly deleted the comment as it's not official but there are legs to it.
Rumble walks around about 240 so they'd have to make it at heavy. No chance he makes weight.
And if he crumbles Jones we can look forward to more 'he went up in weight' excuses.
I actually prefer that fight to Cormier v Jones. Rumble is probably the only fighter at light heavy with the power to shut Jones down.
Do you think Jonny Bones' "time off" will have a positive or negative impact on his fighting, if any?
I'm a twit
A few people have said he's taking it all seriously for the first time ever, which is a scary thought if it isn't just bluster, but I doubt he can return after that length of time off and be at his best right away.
Ovince St. Preux for Jon Jones - He'll absolutely maul him.
Fucking wot.
It's for an interim title too
Isn't the rule usually that an interim is created if the belt is inactive for a year? I know they've already blown that rule apart with the interim Featherweight so that McGregor can continue his sojourn up to Welter, but he's a rule unto himself at this point. Unless Cormier can't fight until November, which with a stated recovery time of six weeks tops seems quite unlikely, that's just a transparent attempt to set up the DC v JJ rematch as a unification bout rather than a standard title fight.
They're coming quite close to devaluing their own belts with all these interims.
This weekend's event is on tomorrow, with the prelims starting on BT at 5pm. That seems a seriously odd start time. I'm sure they showed it on tape delay the last time an event started that early UK time.
You've mentioned that before but GSP has only really had one lengthy period out from which he's returned, so while he obviously knows what he's talking about I wouldn't take his word as gospel.
This Pokrajac v Blachowicz fight is quality.
Lol at this. Anik is asking the question in English, it's being translated into Polish for the fighter and Croatian for the crowd. Blachowicz answered in Polish, which was then translated into English for Anik and the Croatian translator who then translated the English back into Croatian for the crowd. Not sure I've seen a three way language barrier in UFC before.
EDIT - This Timothy Johnson bloke is a right fat idiot. Not even Roy Nelson sort of deliberate fat, he's just a flabby twat.
Ponzinibbio looks much better than last time I saw him. Hopefully he's making the jump because he's good fun to watch.
EDIT - As I say that he's gone absolutely mental and finished it. Lovely.
Five in a row.
Forgot how good the card for 197 was. The main event is probably the 4th most interesting fight on the card. Pettis v Barboza and Johnson vs Cejudo.
Conor McGregor has said he's retired on Twitter. No idea if trolling or not.
Seems as if it's true and has something to do with Joao Carvalho passing away. (he was at ringside)
It's always so fun to watch Rashad Evans get knocked out.
McGregor pulled form UFC200 for refusing to promote. Diaz also claims he has retired. Feck.
Diaz was pissing about with his tweet, he's still going to fight at 200 against someone else.
It sounds like McGregor couldn't be arsed doing all the extra shit, they pulled him and so he's claimed he'll retire.
I imagine that Dana will brown nose a bit to make Conor come back, he'll get some more money and more power.
He definitely isn't retiring based on that death the other day as he's flown out to Iceland and been training since it happened.
