I met one of those LADS in the gym a couple of years later, and he reckoned that the fun police had had it in for them since one of them made a German girl cry on a bus (there was a really lol Nazi-based reason for this, but I've forgotten it), but they failed that time, so when that happened they deliberately went well overboard.
My good pal was actually on the team but didn't go to the night in question. He thought they were all wankers. Initiation ceremony sounds like the kind of shit Mert would think was character building.
