Blue Planet 2 - David Attenborough's Bastards of the Sea

Moar freds it is. There's another Attenborough (I think) nature thing coming next year called Dynasty but that can get it's own thread when the time comes.

Dickhead/Wanker/Whatever of the week was good value in Planet Earth 2 and the ocean is just crammed full of arseholes so I'm sure there'll be a number of contenders in these for a weekly sea twat aw

Anyway it's on BBC One at 8pm tonight.

Time for the dolphin to be shown up as the aqua-cunt that it really is.

Dolphins are cunts. As if the evil laughter shouldn't be enough to tip people off.

Birds are the biggest cunts of all as anyone who remotely understands nature will know.

Are there any water based mammals that aren't cunts? You may be tempted to say otters if you'd never been anywhere near one.

I feel like I've finally created a worthwhile thing. (Sea) Bastard of the week.

I'm ready. Bring on the bastards.

You're assuming by "birds" he didn't mean women.

Yeah, that's it. Show dolphins gadding about and being cute rather than happy-slapping porpoises. Classic BBC propaganda.

EDIT: You've got to think the Giant Trevally could find easier pickings than things which fly above the sea. Other than the baby ones, obviously.

I love those false killer whales. They're big, dopey-looking buggers.

I suppose the dickhead of the week has to go to that fish eating baby terns given the dolphins weren't shown up but there wasn't a lot of competition.

I'm here recycling like a dickhead to keep the sea levels down, and it turns out they're full of useless shrimps and 'fish' sweating and pissing and negating everything I do. Well all my rubbish is being burned from now on.

That cuttlefish colour-change looks like a shit special effect, suitable for the Doctor Who-esque music they have accompanying it.

That octopus / grouper tag team.

*cut to camera which clearly shows a sign for Tetamanu Diving - which can easily be googled

Haven't checked this one out but I've recently watched the first two episodes of the second Planet Earth. What a magnificent show.

I happened to watch it. Great show.

Best part was the squid/crab thing leaving its partner after 20 years for a more attractive mate. I suppose the fact that the lazy bitch spent the 20 years lying in bed eating his food had a lot to do with it.

Yeah those crabs were pretty swish. The bug-eyes made it look like he was having a proper panic attack when that moray eel came slithering over the rock.

Cunt of the day has to be split between the Eel and the robbing bastard of a bird nicking fish off the Puffins.

The Octopus gets a pass because Octopus’ (Octopi? Octopuseseses?) are fucking cool.

    Yeah, octopi are great.

They've had some good moments this series too, what with tag-teaming with the grouper and the whole business of escaping a shark's gob by ramming tentacles into its gills and then armouring itself with shells.

I'd love to boot an octopus right in its head.
